    A lot of focus is always on the last two lines of this speech, but, when gets to 8:10, the following section never fails to inspire me and raises goosebumps as it likely did over two centuries ago:
    Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace-but there is no peace.
    The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from
    the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms!
    Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here
    idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they
    have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at
    the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God!

      The English (and British as a whole) had to fight for their rights in different ways as well. Barons had to do so with King John, and the English Civil War, and the political debate in parliament over slavery in the early 19th century, and so on. Throughout history people have fought against tyranny and authoritarianism. These are human ideals, not just American. However, it is a great speech.

      Surely it would be illegal to recite it in public in the UK. People have been arrested for quoting from Churchill's books. In the US, people get on FBI watchlists for posting quotes from "the founding fathers".

    How ironic, a self-proclaimed progressive giving such emotion to the words of Patrick Henry, almost as if he believes it. We cannot forget it was all for the "Common Cause." Not for a race, gender or King, but for all, given to man by God Himself. What form of Government will we have? A Republic, "If," you can keep it. Long Live the Republic! God bless America.

Look at what America was after her revolution it was a place of freedom and liberty not the hole of despair it is now. And India did fight in the mid 1800's only they lost s you can't say they threw off the shackles of colonisation without fighting
