    Great video. Interesting to see your approach and breakdown. Keeping it with Muse it would be awesome if you could do a similar bass vid approach!

      TheReal Sandeman thanks a lot! I'm glad you liked it. Would you like a bass breakdown of hysteria? I often work with a professional bassist who performs/demonstrates gear on this channel. Perhaps him playing it too? Have a look at my two bass videos, they feature performances and an interview with the bassist!

      Benjamin Bullett Mortlock that would be great indeed If the sound could be approached by the Kemper, similar to your excellent guitar breakdown.

    Hey Ben, really loved the video! I think you really nailed the solo and the main riff tone, it sounded awesome! My only thing to pick up on is the chorus sections sound a little thin, but I only think that's because you're using the bridge single coil in your tele (correct me if I'm wrong)? Matt's guitars are all custom made so it's very very difficult to pinpoint a typical guitar to use for the sound, but during the recording of Absolution he had two main guitars, his Manson DL-1 with the zvex fuzz factory (not related to this example) and the 'Manson Bomber' which had a Bare-Knuckle Humbucker in the bridge, although now he uses Semour Duncan. Hope this feedback was helpful! Also you mentioned when you served me at work the other day that we could do a collab?

      The Manson Bomber had a Rio Grande pick up during absolution and the only guitars he has with a Seymour Duncan pickup are the Delorean and the 007. He now uses Bare Knuckle and PsychoPaf pickups

    Hi dude, great vid and I just recreated the tones with my Kemper (with some small changes).
    Question though, on the solo Matt has a pitch shifter an octave up that only affects the delays, do you think that is possible with the Kemper? I can't see any signal splitter in there ...
    Keep it up dude!!

    • @benbullettmortlock
      @benbullettmortlock  7 років тому +1

      S. Ledup It should be! The kemper has a parralell path option, this splits the 4 stomp box sections into 2 separate pairs. One is an uneffected dry signal that you could perhaps put a pitch and delay stomp in, then blend into the overall mix. That's what I do when I run my acoustic into the kemper p, use some cracking profiles from a company and then can add the other effects in how I want.

    It's well know he has the zvex fuzz factory built into lots of his guitars. He won't use line6 fuzz sounds...

      Joseph Owen shit, yeah I've just realised only said the Kaos pad is built in, my mistake! Still reacting with the VH4, just in the body as well as on his board for later tours! Although he began using some marshal heads later on. I know they've transfers to Kempers now, a friend of mine teching sent me their rigs

      @@benbullettmortlock Probably 4 years too late, but would you happen to have more information on the amps he uses for some of their songs like:
      - Supermassive Blackhole
      - Psycho
      - Time is running out?

    Awesome tone, I can't help but mention though that the riff in this song is

    Super video - really would benefit if we could see your face too instead of hand gestures alone. Seperate facecam perhaps ? Hope your channel will grow - i am certain it will if you provide such quality in the future

      Would also like to know how to get the Kemper settings you used, cheers mate.

    • @benbullettmortlock
      @benbullettmortlock  8 років тому

      kingpossie Thanks for the kind words. Yeah I struggle between finding a good shot of the fretboard and me. I only have one camera to shoot with to give me this quality. I'm constantly tweaking things and I'll try some more zoomed out shots on the next video. Have you checked out any of my other videos? There's lots more like this, guitar tips and demonstrations!

    • @benbullettmortlock
      @benbullettmortlock  8 років тому

      kingpossie I'm afraid the exact settings and more are all part of the bonus content that people pledge $4 for. This is because I want to keep someone back in order to over those that are financially supporting me, as sadly I'm not able to share the profiles themselves. If I think of new perks to offer, I may show the exact settings in these episodes at some point!

      kingpossie I also hope this channel will grow well. I'm really trying to help the guitar community!
