I play Pokemon Go as a hobby with my girlfriend. I downloaded the game again back in March and she saw me checking it out. I started explaining to her out it works and she wanted to try it. She didn't grow up with Pokemon so it's really fun for me to see her reaction to Pokemon she hasn't seen before or. Also it's fun trying to get hundos or shinies of our favorite Pokemon. Community Days are huge for us as well. Even if it's a Com Day we don't care about, we have a competion to see who can catch the most shinies. Whoever got more shinies gets a point for that day. So far it's 3-3 for the year. I won Bagon, Cynaquil and Beldum. She won Bellsprout, Goomy and Bounsweet. She couldn't play Tynamo Com Day so we voided it. Sorry for the yapping fellas. I've been meaning to try it out! I've enjoyed using Discord for the nearby cities. I actually used to play with my mom (she burned out), and she met quite a few friends 😆 Poke Mama 2.0 for the win 🏆
Solo rural player here, at least they gave us routes and contests. If you have even 1 stop close to your house you can make a loop route and you automatically win every contest so it's been a relatively big addition to my daily gameplay progress.
@mckinleyostvig7135 Oh yeah, I'm already platinum on showcases! It's awesome 😁😁 I really would like to go to an event sometime! See how it is and what not.
Playing Pokemon Go with communities has always been a major motivator for me! I originally played back in 2016, and loved that everyone in my small town was playing. I fell off a few months after playing, and only got back into it last June, on Axew community day. Since then, I've met so many lovely people from all over the world! As you mentioned, I feel burn out during the winter months, but that's typically due to the lack of events paired with the dangerous road conditions. All in all, it's been such a joy to get back into this past year and I'm excited for years to come!
The community aspect of pokemon go is amazing. I cannot emphasize how many wonderful people I've met and outside my age group (i.e. older gens) that are just the nicest ppl.

25:55 i think that's what made me come back to play. started playing at day 1, but after a while i took a break. after almost an year and a half i came back. found out about the local community and it made the game way better
thanks for another PoGO video, though I fail at go out and socialize part. I usually just spent community days in my room sitting comfortably with AC and fast internet, luckily I have a lone gym nearby and 2 stops. The PoGO community in our town basically died 2 months after release. There are still people playing though, leaving mons in gyms but during raids, you can barely see anyone raiding even campfire chat / other social apps have any active players to go with.
Thank you for touching on the subject of Pogo taking over people lives. TMI I recently got broken up with and I truly believe pokemon go had something to do with us growing apart. My ex would spend all day playing, would go to every single event with or without me. Truly felt like I would always come last after the game lol I do love pokemon go, but unfortunately haven’t been able to play as often because it reminds me of him. Kinda ruined it for me. Love the community and can’t wait to get back to it eventually.
Thanks Poke Dax i needed this, i play as both its a balance lifestyle for sure. i used it to my advantage. when all my friends walked out the poke community opened up their arms to me and gave me a really warm hug. the pokemons are a plus. My luck is also great while i play other times like in community day 3 out of 5 i get great pulls. or at least decent. when its bad i enjoy seeing the people i have met and my community. i actually im in extrovert but the world is rocky and became a full introvert to not upset people. Niantic has offered kind players alike who are friendly and help me destress if im being frank.
Marathon training is so dope, I would be doing that aswell but my knee injury is preventing me from running so I'm hoping by the time it fully recovers I can get back to it. In May I was able to run 10.9 miles so about 17.5km and every PR felt so fulfilling. It was also a great way to grind candies from your buddy, I got a good amount for Giratina and Zygarde cause of it.

YOo hope the knee recovers well - tbh I don't run with my phone so I loose out on that stuff
Amazing. I loved the the talk you had at 30 min. The link with the relationships was clever. It made me sit bad and think about that for a minute. I enjoy Daxi Philosophy.
I took a year break and let me tell ya’ll I got in the best shape of my life, over time I was able to reinsert pogo in my life and I developed a schedule over time to stay healthy and enjoy the game
NO get Item storage and PkMn Storage to around 2k then focus on upgradeing PkMnstorage. You never run out of pokeballs and you item storage is full every time anyway. If you have PkMn storage you can save pokemon to trade and reroll them for better IVs
I agree with most of your points except for the part about item storage upgrades - I think that depends greatly on play style as well as where you play. For one, because Pokemon Go is a collector’s game at heart (“gotta catch ‘em all”), I think it draws in a lot of OCD collector type players, like myself… players who want some form of a living dex or some other sort of collection goal. For those big collectors, Pokemon Storage then becomes much more important. The key is if you’re able to pair it with a good system/play style where you can regularly restock balls and items. Having an Autocatcher for example certainly helps, as well as a routine route that allows you to stock up. I’ve been able to get away very well with 1500 item storage space, and find myself constantly needing more pokemon storage space as more pokemon, costumes, shinies, etc. get released, as well as maximizing strategies to maximize candies/trades. Not to mention keeping up with PVP and meta pokemon. (I am at 4000 pokemon storage space rn). Being that as it may, it does entirely depend on play style, which I would say a big thing is figuring out what your play style is, what makes you happy, and adapting your storage needs to that.
3 місяці тому
Good point it does depend on playstyle - but I'd agrue as a collector even - how many spots does it take to hold a Pokemon you value (1) - vs how many pokeballs you need to throw until you find and catch said pokemon - many - so I think there is always a ratio where having more item is better - but maybe just not as extreme if you need the space
Ultimately thats fair. Perhaps the simplest way to sum it up is that depending on your play style, if it is somewhat consistent, there is a "sweet spot" of you inventory storage that will allow you to play consistently through the week/days without worrying about balls. For me, that number is enough space for me to keep about 1000 balls total, usualy something like 600 pokeballs amd 400 mix of great/ultra since every week or every other week I usually do a large "restock" whenever I go downtown to play CD or event there (note: I do have an autocatcher). Depending on each persons playstyle, that number maybe different, but with this, I play pretty comfortably through the week amd consistently with rarely worrying about running out of pokeballs. Will more inventory space help? Of course! My next few upgrades will probably go to item storage since my pokemon storage is finally at a very comofrtable point right mow (1700 v 4000). But at the same time, putting more space to my pokemon storage has allowed me to maximize candies and events and trading, also getting more out of the game that way. Obviously rural players will likely not be able to do this, I am lucky to live in a city to be able to prioritize pokemom storage.
Patience should be inversely proportionate to resources. If you got a lot of resources, then don't be that patient. If resources are limited, then be more patient.
I quit playing this game for a while and just recently got back into it because i have a few friends that play at work. I also have a better understanding of the game now that its been a while and ive watched and learned so much. I love the vids man and keep them coming. for sure my favorite youtuber. But ive been llaying on and off aince 2017 and im mostly free to play which does make it a little different. I dont get burnt out because im not always doing too much. I do a few raids here and there and participate in the events, but i play very casually. And it works well for me.
Catching everything is much more important than it seems, I have a friend who’s been playing for close to 3 times longer than me but he only shiny checks. I catch everything I see and am a higher level than him. For anyone wondering, we play the same amount.
Things that you covered in the video are relatable to many of us and your voice is very relaxing. No homo just being honest my dude. Keep doing what you’re doing.
I played in 2016 and just came back in June. All I can say is this is way better than before. RAIDs and PVP literally brought me back and I play every day now. I feel there’s never a dull moment. Only when I reach the 25 battle limit haha. I feel like when you have a Shundo and Hundo of every Pokemon then you have beat the game
I rarely left messages after watching your stuff (am more of a silent stalker). Love this video a lot - because I'm going through some thinking about gameplay too! TL47 at the moment. Trying my best to play actively since 2019 because I need distractions during treatment sessions. Have enjoyed my time (and multiple "Wait you're still playing this?!" questions), but i wonder if i have the stamina to continue since friends around me slowed down their gameplay (some stopped altogether) because life happened: family, work, health, etc Thanks for your sharing! From this video I figured out that I still want to play actively, but probably need to start expanding the social element of my gameplay (translation: find new communities). PoGo keeps me active, and i still want that in my life 😊
When I see dogs not on a leash and they aren't at a dog park, I just shake my head because I know that person doesn't care at all about their dog and if it dies or not. Watched one run into the street today and the lady couldn't have cared less. Also if a dog comes up to me and my kids and the dog isn't on a leash, I am fully prepared to defend my kids and will do whatever is necessary. Leash laws exist for quite a few reasons.
One tip that everyone scoffs at is getting Purified Lucky pokemon, The stardust and candy is drastically reduced to power them up. Ive been slowly working on getting Purified Luckys for my Mega collection.
Your words really touched me when you mentioned about the community aspect of the game, its sooo true.❤ Not sure if you remember but I'm the guy who gave you 3d printed lapras coin in Sendai Go Fest 😊😊
I love this videos, also for the ToS subject: just forget aboit it. In the end we cant do anything about it. Only thing we can is getting mad, because Niantic write smth that already was a thing. They CAN do anything in their game + most of the new things propably dont happen if you are normal-fair-player
good luck with the marathon training. I've been training for one since November. I have attempted it twice now and bonked both times. but playing PoGo is a lot easier when you're constantly going out for long runs.
In order for them to delete your account I think you need to agree and "accept" their new terms and agreements. So now since you logged in and it forced you to accept, if you take another break like that, it's likely that they can delete your account.
Your adhd is so funny 😂 Like bench hopping 😂 Some mistakes I have made is buying a com day ticket and I didn’t know if I needed that in order to participate on the com day but all thanks to you on the next com day you answered my question in your rhyhorn spotlight hour stream and I really appreciate that Dax😊
I think it is also great to redefine your game by taking a break from some features or even just picking one goal. It can be overwhelming to keep up with pvp, spotlight hours, raid hours, daily incenses, team go rocket, defending gyms, gifts, routes, trades, etc. Right now I’m super into show cases. I’m at 80 wins now! When I get to 100, I’ll pick another focus that makes me happy.
i have a trip already planned for Japan at the same time...would love to meet up as I'm a day one play returning back into POGO thanks to my wife getting back in.
dax, 29 degrees is hot for people who live in places like canada or the netherlands. catching everything is pretty much all i do in pokemon go haha. well i might skip on that sudowoodo because it just doesnt wanna stay in the red balls anyway. but the ones that do stick rather easy are mine. even that useless yungoos. im too casual to work hard to get consistant excellents XD. im that 'great is good enough' person. i can get them, just not super easy. I'v played a different game a bit too hard core for a bit too long. from the day that i started my pokemon go journey i told myself to just play when i want to and dont when im not feeling like it. you're right. its a game. it should be fun. and on the topic of playin with others. i do enjoy a good mix of both tbh. i really enjoy my walks after work in the evening to wind down and just enjoy my area. but with good raid days or big go events i do join a big community and that can also be fun. but iv noticed too. if its a giant group of like more than 50 people for me its a bit less enjoyable. if you have a smaller group you are more 'forced' to join instead of just able to lurk in the background.
It is very hard to agree on the point of being patient in powering up Pokémon. For people who “free to play” player and don’t buy in-game coins, it is difficult, especially for someone like me who has a family, children, and a job to take care of every day. I don't have that much freedom in terms of time and finances to play every day or go out with the community, etc. So, I only power up the Pokémon I already have or free raid in case i got a good IV one, at least if it's a legendary one with 15 attack or a maximum of 93% IV. good video by the way 👍🏻
For new players..... Don't worry abt ivs too much I'm pretty sure the difference between a hundo and a nundo is a 5% bonus if u have any 15atk 80+ iv and need to build that mon go ahead
13:07 i'm literally the opposite - never want to power up anything unless i have a research that requires powerup and/or powering somethin that i need for a limited cup

Lifelong gamer here. One good thing about this game is that this game will last for many many years. It is not like other games that will shut down after a few years.
I started at 2016 played 4 year straight left when COVID hit returned again for go fest 2021 and after 3 years break again rejoined at 2024 so ,the thing i learned there always will be breaks and lost of motivation and i will eventually pick it up again after the break .... but one thing this game still need to improve GBL
I stopped playing pokemon Go because of the weather honestly. Then when it got nice again, all the gyms were full of overpowered pokemon that I'd never catch up to.
By the definition of this entire video, I believe I am a top player. I've been catching everything I see and legit popping excellent throws everyday and even tracking my count daily for a few months now. I'm on track for 5 million plus xp by years end solely on excellent throws.
I think pokemon storage is important so you can keep old pokemon or keep pokemon in general so they get old and can trade them and have a better chance of getting lucky trades in the future I still have 2016 pokemon.
What I got out of this video; 1. Daxi is easily distracted by dogs. 2. Daxi wants me to get a girlfriend. 3. Daxi wants me to get a girlfriend. 4. I gotta read the TOC for Pokemon go.

My opinion in “beating the game” is getting 1 of every shiny and every 100% so optimistic speaking there is never a moment that there is nothing to do
I too have the same opinion
Every single Pokemon as a Shundo lvl 50
you could include hitting legend rank in pvp as well
Also rank 1 pvp pokemon
True that is beating the game - however you would never always have beat it cause new stuff always drops

I enjoy Daxi Philosophy.
something I learnt recently and very important
Great advice about not being scared to quit the game, you made me feel a lot better about myself
FACTS
I took a year break and let me tell ya’ll I got in the best shape of my life, over time I was able to reinsert pogo in my life and I developed a schedule over time to stay healthy and enjoy the game
glad you could get back into it like this
The intro in french was awesome Dax !
Merci beaucoup !
Derien!
30:42 Love you sir for this❤❤❤❤❤
I bike around grinding shadows so this summers events have been a great welcome back since 2016. Cant wait for the max content with new spots
Have you actually caught a shiny shadow from a Team Rocket Grunt? I have only ever caught shiny shadows from the Team Leaders.
My advise is to always ask questions. It's crazy how many people don't know the most simple stuff just because they don't ask.
NO get Item storage and PkMn Storage to around 2k then focus on upgradeing PkMnstorage. You never run out of pokeballs and you item storage is full every time anyway. If you have PkMn storage you can save pokemon to trade and reroll them for better IVs
Exploring my area has been the best part of pogo
facts
Good point

Hola
Guten Tag
Bonjour
Halo

Also Asalam Allikum and btw hello and hi are the same language
@@Lister-Eyad Alr
also Ahoj and Siema
What's Alola? Did you mean Aloha? Lmao
Guten Tag are two words (meaning literally good day) with "Tag" being spelled with a capital "T" because nouns in German are always capitalized
Ive been playing for 8yrs I still can't hot excellent throw
The yap sessions are great. Keep it up.
Glad you enjoyed them
Once a week bro! Keep em coming! Always look forward to these!!
We would love more of these types of videos
Best episode ever. Hands down
LMAO why
Things that you covered in the video are relatable to many of us and your voice is very relaxing. No homo just being honest my dude. Keep doing what you’re doing.
I played in 2016 and just came back in June. All I can say is this is way better than before. RAIDs and PVP literally brought me back and I play every day now. I feel there’s never a dull moment. Only when I reach the 25 battle limit haha. I feel like when you have a Shundo and Hundo of every Pokemon then you have beat the game
Whatever makes you feel bad, leave it. Whatever makes you smile, keep it.
I rarely left messages after watching your stuff (am more of a silent stalker). Love this video a lot - because I'm going through some thinking about gameplay too!
TL47 at the moment. Trying my best to play actively since 2019 because I need distractions during treatment sessions. Have enjoyed my time (and multiple "Wait you're still playing this?!" questions), but i wonder if i have the stamina to continue since friends around me slowed down their gameplay (some stopped altogether) because life happened: family, work, health, etc
Thanks for your sharing! From this video I figured out that I still want to play actively, but probably need to start expanding the social element of my gameplay (translation: find new communities). PoGo keeps me active, and i still want that in my life 😊
I have played Pokémon go since 2016….
Leash laws exist for quite a few reasons.
bro is looking crispy!
these videos are important. This game is not built for casual engagement.
I'll go bench hopping with you and the old guys!
lets goooo
One tip that everyone scoffs at is getting Purified Lucky pokemon, The stardust and candy is drastically reduced to power them up. Ive been slowly working on getting Purified Luckys for my Mega collection.
Your words really touched me when you mentioned about the community aspect of the game, its sooo true.❤
Not sure if you remember but I'm the guy who gave you 3d printed lapras coin in Sendai Go Fest 😊😊
I love this videos, also for the ToS subject: just forget aboit it. In the end we cant do anything about it. Only thing we can is getting mad, because Niantic write smth that already was a thing. They CAN do anything in their game + most of the new things propably dont happen if you are normal-fair-player
I can't wait for my first Go Fest in 2025 and all the events along the way
good luck with the marathon training. I've been training for one since November. I have attempted it twice now and bonked both times. but playing PoGo is a lot easier when you're constantly going out for long runs.
You’re like a farmer, outstanding in your field!
regarding inactive accounts, I made a day 1 account, and logged back in successfully about two weeks ago. over 7 years idle and no deletion.
Come see our big Community in Quebec City! You will love this for sure and it's not that far. Especially for community days... lots of fun
I've heard huge things of this - im gonna try to make a trip down at some point
If you yap, they will come. I'll be here for it, at least.
Most ppl are the only players in smol towns- dax - "go out and meet ppl "
check out campfire see if you can find a local group - or create one there it will pull in other trainers who may feel like there is no one
did that there is just no one and its the same everywhere in the world in smol towns.
I just got into this game, and i am completely overwhelmed
7:24 i live in Denmark and my town is Hundslund 😊
Buddy was all sorts of spacey today… SQUIRREL!
me everyday
i have a trip already planned for Japan at the same time...would love to meet up as I'm a day one play returning back into POGO thanks to my wife getting back in.
Ill probably do a meetup so stay tuned
Love your yap sessions man
I got ads before he started making sense. I give up.
LMAO
Love ur weekly videos!
dax, 29 degrees is hot for people who live in places like canada or the netherlands.
catching everything is pretty much all i do in pokemon go haha. well i might skip on that sudowoodo because it just doesnt wanna stay in the red balls anyway. but the ones that do stick rather easy are mine. even that useless yungoos.
im too casual to work hard to get consistant excellents XD. im that 'great is good enough' person. i can get them, just not super easy.
So, I only power up the Pokémon I already have or free raid in case i got a good IV one, at least if it's a legendary one with 15 attack or a maximum of 93% IV.
good video by the way 👍🏻
That a good point!
For new players..... Don't worry abt ivs too much I'm pretty sure the difference between a hundo and a nundo is a 5% bonus if u have any 15atk 80+ iv and need to build that mon go ahead
3:13 ZoëTwoDots was here
Ahahahhahaa I thought the same thing
13:07 i'm literally the opposite - never want to power up anything unless i have a research that requires powerup and/or powering somethin that i need for a limited cup
I listen on Spotify and sometimes you're like, look at it and I'm just listening
oh god I gotta stop doing this
"At the end of the day" counter: 58
one of my most common lines
Yeah this is poke daxi coming at ya.. Squirrel!!!! As i was saying, I've been at it for years... Squirrel!!!! And as a long-time member of the... Squirrel!!!!!! Man, I keep getting distracted, but as I was saying... Squirrel!!!!!! Hard to keep focus ey buddy
indeed and thats just how I be
New video idea, Daxi rents a lawyer to deep dive into the TOS
noted
Day 1 player here that took a break in 2019 and came back in late June 2024, I definitely can say that the XP gains have increased massively, I have gained more XP in these two months than I did from 2016 to 2019 lol, I was early level 35 player and now I am level 38, tho I think it is going to get me another 8 years to get to level 50
I have had a blast coming back tho, despite missing a lot things 2019 onwards but slowly gaining on them
My best advice: don't waste time complaining about the bad and make the best out of the good
Good advice
Rufus is the RDR dog 🔥
Lifelong gamer here. One good thing about this game is that this game will last for many many years. It is not like other games that will shut down after a few years.
Aaaand... I got the pogo ad😂
Daxi wearing the forbidden glasses is crazy 😭
wait what are the forbidden glasses
Dr. Disrespect glasses
The diddeler glasses if you know what I mean
I would catch myself if I could
These are so good every single time
I started at 2016 played 4 year straight left when COVID hit returned again for go fest 2021 and after 3 years break again rejoined at 2024 so ,the thing i learned there always will be breaks and lost of motivation and i will eventually pick it up again after the break .... but one thing this game still need to improve GBL
On the subject of referral codes, they did recently nerf them removing any raid passes which is really lame
Zygarde is THE patience pokémon
I think pokemon storage is important so you can keep old pokemon or keep pokemon in general so they get old and can trade them and have a better chance of getting lucky trades in the future I still have 2016 pokemon.
What I got out of this video;
1. Daxi is easily distracted by dogs.
2. Daxi wants me to get a girlfriend.
3. Daxi wants me to get a girlfriend.
4. I gotta read the TOC for Pokemon go.
