New to the channel, so I don't know if you've got this later but... I like to put some fighters on my stations to protect my sector... I also only transfer over 6 shuttles per squad and produce the rest at the station. In case they loose some to raids or something...
Is the hiring of crew in the build menu like that a mod or is that just because it's a station? Or is it because it's a thing that needs several hundred crewman? I'm still very new to the game so I haven't seen those puzzle piece buttons before.
It only can have 20 shuttles max. I just dumped them all when I was doing the video. Sorry about the confusion. I took the other 30 ond distributed them to other stations.
Some update + tips : Don't use cargo shuttles, factories can directly buy ingredients from other stations *within docking range* , for this it needs a captain, transporter upgrade, transporter block, trading system. To bring them at docking range you can either : 1. extend the building 2. move them with force turrets 3. use more transporter upgrades (a combination of 1+2+3 is the best for multiple factories) Since your factory has a captain you just have to order him to buy/sell stuff from the galaxy map (create a loop).
I have an issue with my AI captains stopping their looped commands when it comes to trading, even if the criteria are met. Does that impact this type of thing too?
Lol HOW do you move a fking asteroid base? I had like 320 pull power and couldnt even budge by 980m ton asteroid. I couldnt even get behind it and push it with my ship. My ship just kept sliding off it.

I guess does that come into play once you have factories you can goods from at cost?
Even just asteroids or factories selling to npc ships will provide the money and rep increases to the faction of ship that spawns and buys, or is simulated to in the background
@@TheSmallChap That makes total sense. I guess I never noticed that! I always figured that was from my trading ships (when my AI trading ships aren't ignoring orders that is) Thanks for the answer
Using cargo shuttles between stations is really convenient, but SUPER slow. They will only use 20 shuttles at a time so there's no point putting more than that on a station, and they only carry 1 good each. They are easily the biggest bottleneck and I can't see a reason to upgrade stations since they will never be able to get supplies fast enough. Only alternative I know of is cargo ships, which are MUCH more expensive to upkeep and each require a trading system.
