I recently learned that we ADHD-ers tend to be justice-minded. We are more likely to only feel fulfilled in our careers if we feel that we are making a difference to society in some way. I really felt seen when I read about that. You are appreciated, Duncan!
It's actually really cool and respectful towards your followers that you care about the content you put out, and that you want to make sure it is meaningful/thoughtful/introspective. So thank you for that 😊
the great part about creating things is it has whatever meaning you give it, and whatever meaning the viewer gives it. silly goofy content is still meaningful in its own way, or can carry genuine kindness through them! make whatever you want, my man. if it means something to you, that is enough.
I think there's value in just adding to the noise. During the day I will often put on UA-cam videos (or Twitch) as a sort of body doubling when I'm trying to get tasks done. I'm still listening and paying attention, but it's not always focused attention. They're keeping me company. If the video is TOO engaging or TOO insightful then that doesn't work. I'll just end up dropping my task to watch it. Do what you gotta do to pay rent, and maybe expand your definition of what "valuable" is.
I get the idea of wanting to create things that feel like they matter and serve a purpose but that being contrasted with the fact that it is the thing that has to be a source of income. As someone who is very into creating art it is something that I fear for my future. (I’m still at the mercy of my parents rn) I don’t really have a conclusion, I just wanted to share a bit because watching people be vulnerable online makes me share a bit of myself as well. Though it is kinda impossible to achieve reciprocity through the internet/public figures
we appreciate your contributions to the youtube sphere, all of your videos are worthwhile and if you gotta churn out some quick easy ones so you can support yourself, go for it 🫶🏻 we’ll be here watching and eating up every second
This Videos structure is, what my thought process feels like. Chaotic but still coherent
chaotic, coherent, but still crazy - that's me

getting paid for art is so weird!! because there's no way it isn't affected, but it's better than a minimum wage job, and like 100 other variables
