I saw the witty remark that the video starts at 48:32 . . . but for me, the truth is (as you will be all too well aware!) that the only comment I can make about this fabulous recital begins at 54:51! Cole, you are phenomenal - an awesome pianist. Your musicianship is breathtaking and, as is always evidenced with your commentaries on your UA-cam channel, your intellectual insights are never less than scholarly - but always communicated so warmly and intelligibly. Those lucky enough to have heard you play live will have realised they were in the presence of an exceptional performer and human being. I just wish I had been one of them! B R A V O !
Bravo! A fascinating program, and a masterful performance. Cole Anderson, you are a musician’s musician! Thank you for this exceptional blend of rarely performed works, such as Fanny Hensel’s, with the subtle colors and moods you exuded in Ravel, and the pure fun (as well as the technical demands) of Earl Wild’s Etudes after Gershwin. This concert was a feast!
Wow amazing performance! I feel so calm, peaceful and in harmony when I watch and listen to you! Thank you Cole for sharing these serene moments, your music is really special!
Vashon Center for the Arts on Vashon Island was a perfect venue for Cole's virtuosity and sensitivity in its near perfect acoustic 300 seat hall. What an experience to hear such pianisiam in an intimate setting like Vashon. And the Vashon audience so enjoyed Cole's performance. What a treat.
Wonderful program! I especially loved the Fanny Mendelssohn pieces. It’s like she channeled Bach and expressed it through a romantic lens. Beautiful playing, Maestro! And you looked as scrumptious as you sounded. I love the colorful suit you wore, and your newly-shorn hair was magnificent!!
The Independent Pianist, a man who talks the talk and walks the walk. Loved your programme and the fact that you went with less popular but equally demanding works than the traditional rep. An equal balance of craftsmanship and musicality in your style. I only wish that the audio recording/sound quality was better.
I got to attend this concert and it was amazing! However Cole has muted the many "bravos!" the sustained enthusiastic applause and the standing ovations (2)!
Good to know the audience realised they were in the presence of a true maestro! Lucky you as you can relive the experience every time you listen to this recording!
Mr. Anderson! Do you remember me? Had a hard time playing au bord, started tackling Chanson a Boire (R. Lucrezia Borgia part II) against your advice! 70 2 hours sessions in, I can play (badly) the 3 llast pages (stretta) and struggling with the 3 before those (right hand cascades & LH chromatic thirds + jumps/RH chromatic sixths + jumps). Need advice once again, G! Great playing!
I believe now would be the time to abandon it. You have exhausted all you were able to and any extra progress you can make will just come at snails pace and probably end up doing you harm.
@@thenotsookayguy never made more technical progress in my life my dude. Thanks for the advice tho, but I still would like to listen to my good friend Mr. Anderson!
Cole, what a wonderful performance! I had a technical question. I see you've used a tablet for your performance. Hiw did you get the page to turn when you needed? Did you trigger it to change or was that automated on a timer? Just curious. Thank you again for posting this performance! All the best, Carlo
If you look closely, there’s a little extra pedal on the floor. It connects via Bluetooth and is used to turn pages without having to swipe back and forth!

Thank you Cole for your great performance and for all that you do for us.
Thank you for playing Earl Wild. My claim to fame: he bought me my first beer. We used to listen to him warm up--on Mephisto.
That's incredible! Did you enjoy that first beer or was it piss?
Bravo!! A hell of a program....for many more. Congrats🎉

Well you had to be there in person for the best sound quality 😁
Start of the video, for anyone asking: 48:32
?
@@wei2190sd it's his intro
What are you talking about? The video begins at 00:00 with "Fanny Hensel: Klavierbuch, Praeludio"...
Haha I get it! You’re obviously a long term viewer of the channel
@@TheIndependentPianist Okay... care to let us in on the joke? 🙂
Bravo, Cole! I really enjoyed the entire performance, especially your Ravel. -Andrew
Absolutely wonderful!!
Beautiful program, lovely outfit as well.
Bravo!
Wow--magnificent performance!! I especially like the Klavierbuch, Praeludio. ❤ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
Bravo! Wonderful program and performance, thanks for posting this!
Excellent sound!
The Rachmaninoff was Richterian in approach and individual in excecution. Bravo
Thanks for the chapters!
What a look. 🕺💃
Woaaah!!!!
Wonderful performance! Would you be able to do a video some time on how best to practice and indeed attempt the glissando thirds in the Alborada?
