FRANCESCO GEMINIANI {LUCQUES 1687-1762 DUBLIN} CONCERTO GROSSO IN D MINOR.
Not sure about the dance but the piece is older than the 15th c. Some scholars place in well into the middle ages-in fact one of the oldest surviving patterns today.
Francesco Xaverio Geminiani, Italian, BBC Radio 3 once described him as "now largely forgotten, but in his time considered almost a musical god, deemed to be the equal of Handel and Corelli." Tartini reportedly called him 'Il Furibondo', the Madman, because of his expressive rhythms. Geminiani, Locatelli, Albinoni, Corelli, Vivaldi, Marcello, Alessandro Scarlatti, Sammartini, Giovanni Battista Lulli, Giovanni Battista Martini, etc...the whole Italian Baroque deserve....
I've always heard people say how they were "moved" by classical music. I don't know if I have had that experience...until I listened to this. I will now replay it again.
Very delicately done. 💙🧡❤👍
The most underrated version of la follia
If you listen this kind of music, you feel reborn! Beautiful!

The music (Tempo) is Italian. They had amazing composers and musicians. It is bad to see how it ended up...
