- 1979 FJ55
A very rare FJ55. One of 50 of the last year made equipped with factory power steering and A/C. Stage Three restored by TLC in 1997. As you can see, it has been cared for properly ever since. We have managed the service on this truck since we originally built it. This is one of the finest FJ55's in the world, and restored to a very high quality, upgraded with a Toyota 5 speed transmission and transfer case, upgraded suspension and modern audio system. Ready for adventure!

Like the addition of the drive-by to the end of the videos-- Always getting better.
Awesome looking Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55. I remember these from when I was a boy.
I recently came across a non-AC, 1979 FJ55 while on vacation in California. I'm hoping to restore it....and anything even remotely close to this level, I would be thrilled with. Great job!
Thanks Jonathan for let us to watch to badass rig ❤
Sweet looking FJ55 Land Cruiser. My favourites have always been the FJ55 "Iron Pig" and the FJ60. If I were to buy one of my own, I'd keep as much of the vehicle original as I can, I'd also upgrade a few things.
goooooood👍👍👍👍👍
I owned a 1976 FJ55. I bought it in the Vancouver Canada area. The same colour as this one. I had it repainted with special paint. Two years after I was made a great offer for it. I sold it. Biggest mistake I ever had.
Wow that is beautiful
Это просто шедевр! The best!!! The best!!! The best!!! Retro Land Cruiser!!!
una camineta muy fuerte mi padre tuvo una de estas q lastima q ahora las construyen mas rapidas y sosfisticadas pero PERO mucho menos fuerte Las Tablas Panamá
Hello Jonathan, my family used to own this vehicle and are interested in purchasing it back from whoever owns it now. Is it possible to somehow connect with the new owner?
nice car
Love it
I've always liked the FJ55 Land Cruiser. If I could afford it, I'd buy one, I'd keep as much of the rig as original as possible, but I'd also upgrade I with more modern features. I'd upgrade from the original 2F engine, to a Duramax LWN 2.8 litre diesel.
When you say you updated the suspension, what exactly did you do? How about the tires? What size and make are those?
***** So would you say that its a 2" lift? I'm surprised adding the lift didn't affect the value of the truck, even though i feel it improved it. Do y'all sell the lift?
@@ICON4x4Design wow! What a nice rig 😍😍
I just bought a 1979 fj55 with power steering and AC. It's completely stock (other than paint) with hardly any rust and runs excellent. I bought it from the original owner and it has just 75k documented miles. Apparently I have one of the 5 you mentioned are still on the road. Looks like this one has a mild lift on it? How much higher did you go than stock Mr Ward? Love your trucks!
cool beans. That's exactly what I was planning to do. Thanks for the response.
👌👌👌
My father had the same one
Is the fj55 a series of its own? What series was it?
looking to buy a mostly rust free 74 fj 55. it had a 350 swapped in with the stock transmission.. no idea what these things are worth.. rough ballpark?
Nice K-mart radio.
I bought a 1978 FJ55 in the same color off the showroom floor.
Great vehicle... got me in and out of places I couldn't believe. I think it cost about $8k?
Is yours still for sale? If so, how much? Thx
Is the 78 3 or 4 speed?
@@adrianchavez819 It came with a four-speed manual transmission and two-speed transfer case.
@@RollYourRock thanks for your answer. Do you know wich one is better?
@@adrianchavez819 the more gear options you have the better, especially for all off-roading
Jonathan good work she's beautiful :) one day I ask you abt sell!
👍👍❤😀
My dad had 1 one these and 2 Toyota crowns. Wife don't understand why I will buy this vehicle when I can afford it if I ever find one.
If you had to sell this, I wonder what's in your collection?
And since we can only dream of these cars you sell, could you at least sell those nice little TLC stickers? :|
Owner lost the truck to gambling... Truck will go through anything... I'd name it the Millennium Falcon!
Glad I was not the one who folded with a full house and would have one the game.
🎥👍👍👋👋😁
I'm speechless. How do I pay you? Paypal? I'm from the Philippines but I'd be happy to if you could send it to my retailer. Better yet, what's your email?
Have you guys ever done a 55 on an 80 series chassis? What about a 100 series? Could you do a 43 on an 80 or 100 chassis? Sorry for the questions, but Jonathan's pretty cool about teaching idiots like me a thing or two in the comments.
The camera work is absolutely dreadful. What a shame.
