    I have the original, loved it, but bought this "definitive" version simply to get the newly-added book test (No surprise!) I like Hector's thinking, especially the work on equivoque. I'm not sure I agree that it is for intermediate workers. Yes, intermediate mentalists could perform this material, but well-read seasoned pros would most benefit from much of the heavy thinking, subtleties, and nuances.

    • @EruditeMagic
      @EruditeMagic  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the clarification, Jim. I didn't mean to say that advanced students of the art would get nothing from this. I meant it more that you needed at least intermediate skills to benefit.

    Wonderful book review. You say this for intermediate level, anything self working. 😊👍😊👍😊

    • @EruditeMagic
      @EruditeMagic  2 роки тому +2

      No, nothing comes to mind as self-working. Most of the material will take a bit of work, but nothing particularly taxing. Hope that helps!

    Hi Jeff what made you switch from being a magician to a mentalist? And how did you get started in mentalism?

    • @EruditeMagic
      @EruditeMagic  3 місяці тому +2

      I saw Richard Osterlind lecture in Greenville, SC, and I knew as soon as I saw it that it's what I wanted to do for paying audiences. I bought his Mind Mysteries DVDs and started to study everything I could about performing effective mentalism

    You talk about Derren Brown and a book published in 2007? What was the name of the book?
    I would love to see a review on Derren Browns Pure Effect as to why it sells in the used market for so much. Is it just that there are not many or is the book that good?
    Thank you for such a good review.

    • @EruditeMagic
      @EruditeMagic  2 роки тому +2

      It was this book. Back then it was just the Mental Mysteries of Hector Chadwick. This is the 'definitive' version of that book from 2007.

    Derren Brown's greatest trick was making his parent's grandchildren disappear.
