Why is it that every time I hear this tarana I weep and cry. My eyes well up out of joy. A strange feeling overwhelm me. Asrarul Haq Majaz really captured the feelings with which Aligarians adore and remember their alma mater. Miss you Aligarh. But remember Sir Syed every moment of my life. My own life would have been incomplete without the brief stay that I was fortunate to have in my formative years. Just as there is no university like AMU, there cannot be a better varsity anthem than the Tarana of AMU.
My three generations are Aligarians , my father was AMU union president in 1956, still have his pictures with Dr Zakir Hussain and various dignitaries. Majaz was my father's classmate at AMU. Both of my grandfathers (maternal & paternal) were earlier law graduates of AMU. The only reason as to why I did not attend AMU was because I was able to get admission in the Guindy engineering college, a very highly rated engineering college located in Madras.

But still this Tarana and" Aye Aligarh rooh e sayed" , makes me cry.....
Really hurt to see this govt trying to destroy this beautiful university for their hindutva politics....

Aftab Hall as Vice President of Aftab Hall Society . I remained in Morrison Court for six years .
Currently I'm living in aftab hall Morrison court😊
