What struck me the most as an Arab Muslim scholar is the moment I saw the Quran’s verses hanging on Aligarh Muslim University’s campus roads. An outstanding feeling, thanks AMU for the wonderful facilities you provide us as visiting scholars from various institutions around the globe 🌍. My three generations are Aligarians , my father was AMU union president in 1956, still have his pictures with Dr Zakir Hussain and various dignitaries. I studied in Lady Fatima from 72-75 when dad was doing in MD and my late Mom Phd in Persian. I have fond memories of AMU and the way Tarana was sung on Sir Sayed day. We used to stay in Dodpur

On request of my 7 year old daughter, I have just finished listening to it. She seemed to enjoy it more than me, although she has never been to Aligarh. That's Alig spirit, infectious.
Why is it that every time I hear this tarana I weep and cry. My eyes well up out of joy. A strange feeling overwhelm me. Asrarul Haq Majaz really captured the feelings with which Aligarians adore and remember their alma mater. Miss you Aligarh. But remember Sir Syed every moment of my life. My own life would have been incomplete without the brief stay that I was fortunate to have in my formative years. Just as there is no university like AMU, there cannot be a better varsity anthem than the Tarana of AMU.

Whenever I read about the socio-political history of Muslims in the Sub-Continent, I feel that it can't be understood without reading about the great movement of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. I pay my gratitude to the great leader Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Today, I listened this melodious anthem of the University for the first time. Lyrics and rhythm are so beautiful.
