Nice catches. Try right next to the bridge on the la Porte side. Tons of trout, reds and black drum. You can’t fish it from shore but from kayak I’ve seen tons of nice fish there.
@@edgarelizondo7501 when you’re going from la Porte to Baytown take the feeder on 146 and just follow it To under the bridge. There should be a dirt road on the side. It’s like a little lagoon tons of reds, blacks and trout.
@@juanpedroza1083 ok I think I know where your talking about, it’s on the east side of the bridge if your going north before you start to go on the top side of the bridge, right?
Love a curl tail bugg. Have ypu given the Ned buggs much of a chance? Tough days I really like them and sometimes throw zman shrimp on it to help it stand up.
Another great video! I always thought that they were called "Gator trout," as that's the name a friend in from Florida called them when we went fishing in the Indian River, while stationed in Orlando for my military school. I now know that "Gator" was a reference to very large trophy sized speckles. They are definitely a lot of fun to catch. Off topic, I swapped my Aldebaran onto my ultralight Bouyancy and now need a reel for my 7' light action. If you could choose any reel that can cast up to its 3/8 oz rating, what would you suggest? Another Aldebaran BFS, shallow spool Diawa/Shimano, or something different?
@RX Angler I tried using the discount code at Old18 today, but it wouldn't work. I am not sure if they are not running the discount, or if it is due to the discount that they are doing from the Houston show.
Question for you my friend. Is it legal to fillet your catch at the dock or pier at the end of your fishing trip here in Texas? You are are always providing lots of information important to anglers. I usually gut the fish but I am curious to know if filleting them is legal. I see many people fillet them and put them in ziplock bags. I would appreciate your help. Thanks again Nick.
Man, I need to find some of these "secret spots" Went into that marsh just south of Stingaree yesterday and didn't get a bite 1. Was using curltails, flats bugs, voodoo shripm, doa shrimp, paddle tails and couldn't get a bite 1. The sad part is it was very heavily loaded with reds, I could see them everywhere 😢. Try try again next time, and by then I should have my fish finder rigged up so I can find the deeper holes.
Man, it’s only a handful of people that know that spot and we keep it like that for a reason now another good spot burnt 🤦🏻♂️ that’s why I stop recording on Facebook for a reason… I never seen that kayak fish that spot before, I grew up in that neighborhood, I been fishing in that water for 25 years… RIP to the Dirty Bay

How do you know I didn’t catch more than three fish? What makes you think my videos cause fishing spots to be “trashed” and “closed down” as you are claiming. I would love to see the data to back your claim. If you can prove it to me, I’ll stop posting videos. Deal?

You can’t go wrong with either the Daiwa shallow spool or the Metanium Shallow edition.
