In November 1978 we were at Long Beach State University to see Richard and Karen perform and this is the 3rd time we saw them and it would end up being their last time to perform in public, sadly! However they performed Merry Christmas Darling which I was excited to see them perform my favorite Christmas song!!!! I was on cloud 9 that evening so excited and thrilled to watch them perform again!!
      An evening to remember!

The tone of a harmonica represents the heart of the person playing it. The listener also listens to the wonderful tones and tunes in with their heart. I also practiced the harmonica a lot when I was young. I didn't make much progress. My father was very good and played my favorite songs. Once my father hears music, he immediately remembers how to play it. This harmonica brought back the nostalgia. thank you.

  • @AllenOption8

The entire sound was perfect. Yes, she was the star of it, but he was as well in the studio. When the sax break comes in, it just pushes it up and she is every match for it with the vocal that cries out blues and blahs, really from the depths. An amazing artist - what a talent. Still one of my top ten concerts in the spring of 1974.

She was such a beauty. A loss for the entire world. If her mother hadn't been so obssed with richard she might still be with us. Just my opinion.

One of the loveliest voices ever to grace this planet. Bloody shame that she couldn't find peace in herself.

I sang all their songs as a kid. I sang a few in talent shows and won. Big influence being a kid growing up in the 70's. Such beautiful eclectic music came out of that magical decade. Love you, Karen RIP

I was only about six when this song was a hit. Her emotion, and her voice made sure that everyone from my age on up understood the song. RIP Karen...and thank you.

Karen Carpenter with the voice and face of an angel, but with such a sad life. People who suffer most seem to put their experiences and pain in their music. God bless you Karen.
