YG treated 2NE1 so badly before and now they’re treating Blackpink badly too except this time, the girls are fighting back by knowing their worth and demanding what’s right for them and I am livingggg for this! They did exactly this before to the point that CL revealed that she can’t even contact YG CEO about her music or how Minzy’s parents had to meet up with him to demand that she release her own music but got rejected or how they didn’t support Bom even after it was ruled that she was NOT GUILTY and many more! Now they lost BigBang, 2NE1, Lee Hi, PSY, iKon and more artists. It’s because the management is GREEDY

@@bekcha4170 their logic is that if they reduce the amount of cbs and amount of jobs their artist do, then their artist will seem "exclusive" and i think thats just stupid. There are a million extremly exclusive brands and cooperations that have wanted to work with their artist. Instead of giving off the impression "not everyone can get our artists" theyre giving "its practically impossible to get our artist" which at the end of the day is only harmfull to the artists. I mean blackpink literally has people calling them fake artists bc they arent allowed to release that much music. Mind you jennie revealed once that the company staff STOLE a notebook in which she wrote her songs to stop her. Yg is just the worst

@@bekcha4170 I think it's more about control. The top boss at YG...is Yang Hyun Suk. He always has been and never stopped for a moment being the top boss. (I know many very naive people think that he wasn't the boss when he stepped out of the spotlight during the scandals of 2019 and afterward. But he never stopped being the top boss.) Every indication is that, although he obviously loves money, there is one thing that he absolutely cannot stand: Not being able to totally control the artists under the label to the extent that they have to think of themselves as his employees, who can lose everything immediately if they displease him. If they get too big, too famous and too rich...YHS loses that control. If they make too many connections with too many powerful artists and companies outside of YG, he can't control them easily by threatening to end their careers. His ego can't take the loss of control. It was the scandals and the failure of the new boy groups to reach Big Bang levels (after he had spent years and 10 times more investment in them than in Blackpink) that created a situation where the company had no choice but to invest more in Blackpink and let Blackpink get to level they are now (as basically the "can't afford to lose" group that has kept YG in the top ranks of Korean entertainment companies during the past 5 years). I'm sure YHS is not happy with the current situation now.
Ever since jisoo left yg she got a drama, movie, 2 new brands, a fashion magazine photoshoot and 3 dior campaign tells alot how she is most in demand member right now

I've accepted as a casual fan that YG treated them like this "rare and exclusive gem" and yes it did make them very popular, but I think it's really hurt the girls in their personal growth. If the company had treated them better, they probably would have stayed with YG not only for Blackpink schedule but also for their solo activities. I really hope this growth that they will get with their individual activities will leach in and help their group growth and make them even better performers.

YG treated 2NE1 the same. When they disbanded CL wanted to keep making music but YG didn’t really promote any of her songs. It wasn’t until she finally left the company and was coming out with hit after hit and dropped a full album Alpha. I will never understand the way YG works.

There have been several times that many artist wanted to collaborate with Rosé for her Artistic Creativity and Aestheticness but YG never allowed her. Good for her to leave that Selfish Company.

I think any fan of blackpink was over the moon with them not having individual contracts with YG. Glad that they can explore more of their potential . Also, didn't YG take away the notebooks they were writing music in (Jennie comes to mind) and telling them that it's property of YG. I also feel like they were never supportive of the female groups because if you look at iKon or even Big Bang, they had more freedom in writing their own stuff and having it released. That's just my opinion though .

As happy as it sounds… just a reminder, they still signed with YG as a group, which means that if YG really wants to sabotage their solo careers, they can, by calling them and telling them to promote as group, not giving them a chance to do their own solo activities. So there’s that.
Lisa has probably been in SK for a total of less than a month over the past year. I doubt that YG has the power to force anyone to do anything now. The fearsome aura is gone. The company doesn't even seem to have total control over Treasure.
If they renewed it could have been with many conditions in the contract if they did not want the dissolution of the group that grants them a lot of money, YG would have had no choice but to accept and cede 😐

Not only this but BlackPink is so popular here in the US and I’ve never once heard any of their music on the radio. EVER. I only heard BTS. BP is so popular here in the states so I’m always kind of like it’s weird how I’ve never heard BP’s songs on the radio. I’ve even heard of Loona’s Star on the radio a few times and they aren’t even that well known as BP.

Like for example Jisoo has gotten 2 new brands working with her, Jennie opened her own company, Lisa has finally gotten her official solo performance, and Rose has a lot of more coming her way. YG didn't only just treat BlackPink bad but a lot of their artist which is probably why they are going under. Taking into account both the Korean entertainment industry (and business in general) and YG's history 🤔 I just don't buy into the the idea that YG restricted their artists to be "exclusive" but as a form of control. Restricting their activities while under those exclusive contracts can be used used against arist rather it be control or retaliation 😓 in short limiting appearances and refusing to put out songs & music that have been made & are ready to be released makes it clear that the restrictions are ment to put the artist in their place 😒.
All of these stories of mismanagement are criminal. How will YG stay in business? Based upon their behavior now, it looks like they haven’t learned anything and their behavior has not changed. Very Sad!! But, the Pinks are breaking out and the sky will be the limit for each of them. I can’t wait to see it.

Blackpink is the greatest Girl group of all time. YGs obnoxious management style is a big reason why. Almost every K-pop girl group currently active has had one or more out due to their health. That didn’t happen with Blackpink. They weren’t forced to work sick. Before anyone brings up Jennie’s ankle I’d like to remind people that there’s a big difference between an Injury and Pain. Pain can be pushed through and after following them for seven years I doubt Jennie would want to stay out of world tours etc.

The pattern just seems like a company that had other priorities for making money, and YG was just the public image. Brooo for a company that should be reputable for accepting only the most luxurious sponsors they sure are unprofessional and unreasonable.... You'd expect BLACKPINK or other iconic groups under YG Ent. to have better management and direction considering they'd utilise a kpop group to the most they can but nahhh they would rather be stuck up and fumble everything (also where's the money going to wtf? gambing? debt?). Even after all that BLACKPINK still managed to become one of the most popular kpop groups in the world. I'd hate to be in a company that would make me do the "sit still and look pretty" type of shit for 7 years. It's no wonder why the members became more lazy due to lack of motivation. ALSO HOW COULD YOU REJECT IU????? USHER?? EVEN BENNY BLANCO WHO WRITES THE MOST ICONIC POP SONGS IN THE WORLD?? ETC. Istg this company probably leads children into trucks with candy like how they trap young teens into unfair contracts to control them.
