@@mother-of-all-things-esc 2015 might've been one of the all time worst eurovision performances ever. 2018 was really bland and forgettable. 2021 was one step above disaster

Embers wasn’t that bad to get 0 points tbh, but I’m really proud that we got 2nd in 2022, Spaceman was a great song and Sam Ryder did us proud! Edit: Embers was still bad.
I didn't know that Bonnie Tyler was on ESC! It's sad that we didn't have a chance to hear "My Last Breath" on the Eurovision stage - I love this song, it's so emotional and catchy. And I love this year UK entrance - Sam killed it!🔥🔥
it’s funny actually, cause we had three years when we sent some pretty famous faces. Blue (2011), Engelbert Humperdinck (2012) and of course Bonnie Tyler in 2013
The UK wasn't that bad in Eurovision, it was they were doing Eurovision wrong until 2022. Hopefully Sam Ryder's honorable 2nd place will give the UK more decent placings for the years to come.
I’m so happy they got such a great result in Turin after all those years of disappointment. And now UK will host ESC in 2023 with the Ukrainian broadcaster, can’t wait for the show next year!
I forgot most of these existed 😬 It was a shame 2020 was cancelled but I understand why, I just know we would’ve done better than the 0 points we got for Embers but nothing compares to Spaceman. It brings a smile to my face every time it gets to the guitar bit because you can just see how much fun Sam was having and his hair was everywhere! Almost ethereal 😂
I feel like the UK is missing a song in another language. We are just so used to the best of the best of English singers that many eurovision nominations without all the voice effects sounds just less. Maybe a Gaelic song next?
@Brandt I totally agree, we need to do something that sounds traditionally British, I always thought Runrig would have blown the competition out of the water, or a Gaelic band called Cliar. Another singer I would like to see considered is Cerys Matthews, a lot of people would still remember her from her Catatonia days, and singing in Welsh might have that little novelty factor - we are always expected to sing in English, so it would be a surprise to other countries to hear Welsh.
Yeah but the UK's selection is now being handled by producers who look Eurovision as a way to promote new artists to international status. I mean this is not bad per sé but the chances of having some wild/authentic, good act get slimmer. Would love to see some good rock in welsh or even just some metal, but I think that will not happen anytime soon.
I am very happy that Eurovision will take place in the UK. I'm sure I'll be there and it's going to be one of the best Eurovision Song Contests😊😊😊Love from Poland🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱❤️❤️❤️
As a German, I feel with all the Britains who thought it's impossible to get a good place in ESC - but there are some years (like 2010 and 2018 for Germany) where everything changes :)
The fact that Discoteque and Space Man are two of the only actual Eurovision performances we can watch here in the States without the need of a VPN makes me very proud.
I still get chills when I see SuRie, the poor girl was still reeling from being attacked on stage and yet powered through like a champ. True British fighting spirit. ❤🇬🇧
underrated country tbh. Believe In Me was really good. Children of the Universe was top 10 material. Never Give Up On You is my winner. but Sam Ryder took revenge
I really hope the UK takes note of Sam's success and doesn't pull a 'Josh Dubovie' next year. The UK is full of talented singers and Sam is just the tip of the iceberg
I can't tell why but I really loved and still like the UK song of 2015. I can see why the people think it's embarassing but tbh it's something totally different than the other contestants that year. And also the song was a good mood song. 😅
U.K. come close to win the title this year after placing many times on the bottom, especially last year I thought Lucie Jones would win, unfortunately the Televotes never gave her a chance Im excited for U.K. to host ESC next year!

It’s just excruciating (particularly Electro Velvet)! Thank f for Sam. Such a great song too. I think My Last Breath might have done well too. A million times between than the 2021 song.
2016 and 2021 were criminally underrated. I thought both those songs would place at least mid-table. I was absolutely shocked when James Newman scored nul points. But 2022 is absolute perfection! I hope the UK puts on an incredible show next year although I wish it were under better circumstances.
Sam took all our frustration and disappointment and belted it out on stage. There was always one that would come along (which was him) who would bring a quality tune/be likeable across Europe and the result was fully deserved. Sam lived out my dream - but I’ll forgive him as he did UK proud. On a side note, i thought Lucie and Molly years were decent tunes.
I remember when "You're not alone" was like 9th in the odds and everyone was hoping for a good result but then we got third last lmao I was so disappointed
2017 definitely deserved top10. What a masterpiece of a vocal performance

I like how the editor put Sam Ryder's entire 2022 performance after all these disastrous years. Sorta evens things out😅

The coat alone was minus 400 points
Idk man it was arguably the worst sung song last year
Thank you Sam. "We've got points!" Let's hope the bbc don't mess this up like the last time we got on the left side of the scoreboard.
2014 and 2017 definitely deserved so much better! 2014 at least deserved top 10 and 2017 was clearly top 5 material…
Molly's children of the universe is still a favorite of mine.
