I believe these little guys have been somewhat domesticated, or been used to human presence, as a lot of other frogs will disappear at the sight of humans. these won't want to move off my hand once they're there, until I get close to the frog hotels, when they must sense that other frogs are in range or something. but usually they're very happy to stay put once I've got them in-hand. thanks for watching 🐸
I found the older frog hotel video and quickly went through the rest of them. I think it's great that you have continued to update and innovate. You should think about getting yourself a 3D printer. You can use one to make things like the supports for the tubes, replace those bolts with custom plastic ones, and even print the tubes themselves if you really wanted to. Commenting on this video as it is the most recent.
thanks for the comment. I appreciate your point of view, and trust me I've thought about 3D printing ideas, but it's a rather expensive rabbit hole I just don't have the time, funds or patience for. thanks so much for watching the whole series thus far! I should have an update out soon-ish when it becomes warmer. 🐸
I'm hooked on your wonderful Frog Hotel videos! I love that you are so kind and careful with the frogs. Kindness and compassion towards animals are always a wonderful quality! I wouldn't be sad if you make more frog videos! haha Be well sir! 🐸
there won't be too many more fresh vids (if any) until the weather warms up and there's something to shoot. in the meantime I'm considering putting together a compilation of 'frogs being frogs' in the backyard. I think I've hit the right vein for viewership there, so stay tuned. thanks for watching 🐸
We have a couple of frog species here in the Netherlands but they are not nearly as pretty and cute as the ones you have. My favorite frogs ever are the rain frogs, they are adorable little grumpy things! But of course, not native over here..
yes that still takes me by surprise, although some of the younger ones will flee (I'm not as athletic as they are). I believe it comes down to when you find them, ie. when they've just emerged from wherever they were sleeping, and they're still in a non-compis-mentis state, so not as willing to flee. that said, they could if they wanted to, but most of them just relax because they know they're in no danger.
as long as they're tree frogs, they can utilise a setup like this. it's kind of hard to imagine a species of anything here in Australia that is actually BIGGER than something you find in the US! I've seen the size of birds like your Seagulls and Ravens, and they're almost twice the size of anything here. good luck in making a new habitat for your tree frogs, I'm sure they'll love it. 🐸
We use to live on 17 acres in Ohio we had lots of frogs in our pond now I live in Tennessee and haven’t seen one frog in my neighborhood but I’d like to build one or Two as I have a field behind me and the guy owns 110 acres so we have lots of bugs I detest having to use a service but the bugs are bad at night can I actually have luck with a frog hotel
there's every chance you'll have a frog waiting for a feed, but you'll need light to draw the bugs in for the frogs to find them. also make sure that the frog this is designed for is a tree frog, as it won't work for others than can't cling to vertical surfaces. thanks for watching 🐸
I have Marsh Frogs.
I have marsh frogs too :) no more green tree frogs though. Sad to see them go.
How sweet that they are so calm about being held.

Cant believe how tame the wild ones are, dont even jump from your hand after you pick them up.

The treefrogs we have are Pacific, and are our prettiest frog here. Ours don't get nearly the size yours do, but I'd love to make a hotel for them :D

Where in Australia do you leave ,and are these frogs common all over Australia?
I'm near the NSW/Qld border, and GTFs are found in a lot of places, but it's worth Googling the distribution of them to see where they're located.
