Darkly, menacingly beautiful!

Thanx again and again Mr. Dury jr.
More than a chip off the old block….criminally Underrated.
I'm a Dj here in Chicago - most Beautiful Chorus hands down in the last 70 years. Wicked. and I play this track on Vinyl I know i am not a fan of spoken word but this hits hard.
Your are just this english man we alway need. Thank you.👍
Another disturbing addition to an already sleazy legacy. Great music production. Love it. Keep up the sleaze 🙏
Oh YAH!
Thank you sir...🙏👍
Just found this song while at home in Aylesbury. Good stuff indeed
I'm in Aylesbury too. Ian played at Friars & Baxter's Mum is from Aylesbury. Aylesbury is a musical town
@@billclark2253 I grew up in Aylesbury - very cool to know his mum is from Aylebsury and yeah the musical history of the town is amazing (The Friars)
@@paddy_wax Howard Jones, Marillion (Fish- Wendover actually), John Otway are from Aylesbury of course plus we have the Bowie statue. Lots of footballers from here too- Charlie Palmer, Matt Philips (Currently WBA), Floyd Streete, Sam Ricketts, Robert Hall, Sam Ricketts, Jake Gray, Ray Mabbutt (Dad of Gary), Emmerson Boyce & more. Not bad for a town some of its residents love to moan about. Who can forget the punks & the Green Man pub back in the day
Magnificent musical masterpiece of lyrics, music and attitude. Keep it real Geezer. Edinburgh was a tasty night. Many thanks please return.
Un nouveau morceau, et excellent en plus. Et avec une vidéo presque aussi creepy que celle de DOA. D'ores et déjà la meilleur nouvelle l'année. 🎉
#pride of Aylesbury. A proper music town
We need to see mor of your geat stuff, Baxter. Love the song!

all the posh kids go Yahhh.
lyrics are superb, music works well with them. would like to see him live but unlikely at 70+ years. always preferred stand up for 50 years or so, but now seat only. saw dad at his prime in dunstable, pleased to see offspring is an equal.
love the carpet

New foooking album,,????
I like it so much. I recognize the instrumental from another song but I can’t find which one, if somebody has it… 😉
The devil is out of this world!!!
Baxter, this song is superb
Yu are yourself, but still a Drury
Be proud
Thought i was better than you
Foyer of Chiltern Firehouse
Bloated spleen, brown slip-ons, watercress on the chin
White suit, patriarchal figure, lipstick on the collar
Who's thinner than who, who's speaking more lowbrow
Day ghosts raised by long faces
I was alone mum but you said nothing
Just off chirpsing that alcoholic
And everyone says yah
Can I?, Can can can I?
And I sometimes say yah
Can I?, Can can can I?
And all the posh kids go yah
Can i be this way? Can i be this way tonight?
And I'm with a dangerous man
On our way to posh school Kensington
Tricksy's in the back, she made no effort at all
And the yah yah's are screaming at us
Scared of the bohemians
And all the posh girls go yah
Can I?, Can can can I?
And i go, yah
Can I?, Can can can I?
And everyonе goes yah
Can i be this way? Can i be this way tonight?
Tonight, and you nеver know where the old things go to die
And you never feel the old things go to hide
I'll be lost in your sweet arms
So you're the Aylesbury boy, sailing close to the wind
You got to let go of the dark thoughts
Funny smiles and broken china, for this is now
Pinot sunsets and Burger King trousers
We are future carrying the past like rancid meat
Boys and girls who dare to dream and love to say yah
Can I?, Can can can I?
And everyone says yah
Can I?, Can can can I?
And all the posh kids say yah
Can i be this way? Can i be this way tonight?
Everybody is gonna love you boy
Shine bright on this concrete floor
Love is lost and all
Aylesbury boy
Is dad is just like him bonkers
this guy for me is the dogs bollock seen his father and this guy is just the bizz
Cmon share not enough views!!

Steve Lamar 6 music playing this just after 5 in uk
Cool song sounds like his other songs which is great , female backing vocals 👍👍👍👍
I liked his dad in my younger years (still have a vinyl I think ) but Baxter Dury is one rare instance of an artist offspring whose artistic output equals if not surpasses his genitor’s. He never disappoints musically and visually. Love him.
I'm going to say surpasses here. But you're right.
Wow, that's a statement and a half. I LOVE Ian Dury, can watch/listen to him for hours, but not really listened to Baxter but will do in a min when I start cooking. (Swap you for a listen of Alan Hull (if you don't know him already), album Pipe Dreams (he was Lindisfarne, basically).
3:11 totally agree. His dad was pretty cool, but there’s something about Baxter that has really piqued my interest. He is an intriguing guy you can hear his dads influence in his music but he’s got his own sound and I’m looking forward to hearing what else this man is going to produce. His mixture of spoken word, along with all the stuff going on in the background works perfectly for my ears.
Agreed. This is sublime!
This is so crazy- Without any prior knowledge, I found "Miami" this year on Apple music and instantly loved it without understanding anything about the layers of style in his vocals and lyrical composition, but now it makes so much sense. I love his dad's crazy avant-garde jazzy pub rock songs, and have always felt the world lost a wizard when he died.
