    I really appreciate what you're doing on your site....extremely helpful and unique reviews. While I like the glove-like feel of a sock liner, the downside is that if you have to wear an ankle brace on one foot, it's almost impossible to fit into the shoe. In addition to Powerstep Pinnacle Maxx insoles, I use a figure 8 style brace to mitigate deltoid ligament pain due to flat feet, and it just will not fit into sock liner style shoes. I am still using the last Barricade model, but am going to have to find a new alternative soon. I have tried on the FF2 and Gel Res 8 in store, but am concerned at how soft the uppers are on the medial side, and feel like my feet will just collapse them.

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you! It’s going to be tough with a brace to get it in a slipper- but you may be able to stretch the FF out- it has pretty darn good support on the medial side - solecourt boost also has good support even though the upper is lighter - Nike GP turbo has a huge medial rubber piece if you play hardcourts - Wilson prostaff 2020 review is coming up soon and that may also be something you’d want to look into- very maximalist type upper

      @@FootDoctorZach I've just played in them for 2 hitting sessions, 3 hours total. I know now why so many have touted this as the best shoe in the market. The cushioning is superb and it's extremely stable as well. Did not feel the weight of the shoe at all, it's very well balanced. I'm so glad for the purchase and this may be my shoe of choice for a while.

    I currently wear the ASICS GR 7, in a 10.5, which is slightly tight. I’m ready for new shoes but supply is extremely limited; between the Court FF2 and the GR8, which do you recommend in terms of fit, comfort and stability? Thank you for your excellent tear down videos!

    Hey man, your reviews are great! I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve just watched your review of the Gel Resolution 8 after 4 months and it worried me a little that the shoe was allowing the foot to pronate a lot more compared to when it was brand new… Do you think this would also be the case for the Court FF? My main goal when buying expensive shoes like these, is to have the best and most lasting ankle stability, because I suffer from some lateral ankle pain due to excessive foot pronation… anyways, thanks a lot!

  • @GregorPipan972
    @GregorPipan972 2 роки тому

    I want to give input on durability. I had model FF Novak Djokovic Clay and they were great to play but the inside of the shoe is not very durable. The cloth material at both sides of the ankle has worn off so that the plastic which supports the ankle peeked through. I bought them in June 2022 and they lasted until November 2022. I'm a recreational player (80kg weight). My last pair before were Asics Gel Resolution 8. These lasted for a whole year. The soles on both shoes almost did not wear and were very supportive/solid.

      @kingnike12 4 роки тому +1

      @@FootDoctorZach well after your videos, I bought both the gel res 8 and the court ff. There are both pros and cons. I would say that the court ff are wider and more comfortable but they run a little long compared to the gel res. Also, the gel res has a little bit of heel slip.

    • @kingnike12
      @kingnike12 4 роки тому +1

      the perfect shoe would be if they combined the two together. The flexible upper that is better for a higher instep like the court ff 2, traditional tongue of the gel res with the wide base and midsole that cradles your foot better like the court ff 2 and an outsole warranty of the gel res. I wish asics makes changes to the later iterations.

    • @FootDoctorZach

  • @markmoore5981

    The new Asics Court FF3 is not a big departure from the previous model. The shoes continues to be the standard for those all-court players who want to scramble in all directions and slide into their shots - like Djokovic who apparently helped design this new version. For that, these shoes continue to excel. The mono-sock design again engulfs your foot and the new lacing system does a better job of locking your foot in to the shoe. I thought the shoe felt more breathable than the previous version - so many of the complaints about the last version seem to have been addressed. I was hoping that Asics would improve the cushioning for the rest of us. While on court performance might be excellent, the shoe is quite firm underfoot. The new heel on this version - in particular - has nearly no cushion. After an hour of hitting in this shoe, my feet were throbbing, my knees were sore, and my hips ached. While these shoes might be great for Novak, they are not for everyone. The comfort level is sorely lacking. I guess these shoes were just designed for professional athletes without any joint issues. I was very disappointed.

    Can you compare the FF2 to older Barricades, and perhaps also dissect any of them before the one version you did (17/18) , like the 5 (V Classic was slightly different), 6, 7, 8 (8+) - if you can find, still many new models found in 2nd had sites like ebay, etc, thats how I got some of them still wearing today coz cant find the same or similar fit today (Sole Court Boosts but too expensive and the heel cup is way to stiff and high up on my achilles) I have some older shoes still not thrown away, thinking if an exacto would do enough to dissect them like you do...
    Trying these FF2 was hopeful to carry that feel, but the shoe now feels lacking of some of the comfort and perhaps a lower heel? (low stack height drop?), also run longer? (same length shoe as my 'Cade 7s but the heel seems to sit more vertically back than the 'Cades) which may be making the difference, should I go half size or full size smaller, I got a lot of space to the toe and giving me concern as sometimes bending feels like having those long clown shoes. It does get better if i advance my foot forward but now there's a space in the heel even thought it doesnt heel sleep on it lmao. idk if adding a heel cushion would help. Thanks. These shoes are hard to find now.
    Still weating the 7s (Novak) coz they made so many of them due to his contract so was able to find them as new despite the newer 'Cades were out. I havent really tried the last and reissued model (17/18) but willing to, I think i did try them on once and felt too narrow. (15/16) were terrible, Achilles sores, goes away when back to 7s. Aldo did pull my calf considerably on them too, first time ever. and Twice. So I wonder if they also lowered the heel stack on these as well, and if so this and on the FF2 is another concern.
    Thanks for your videos, refreshed and excellent! Always been hoping to see more dissects like these, not just spouting out the marketing but also show reason and performance due to them.

      I personally like the court ff 2 especially if you play on clay but if you want something more minimalist and bouncy then go ahead and try the gel resolution 8, unless you have a very high arch in which you will want to stick with the court ff 2

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  4 роки тому

      They are stiff at first but not really uncomfortable - there’s a ton of tread covering the upper and the polyurethane stiffens it up but I wouldn’t say they feel bad at all and I liked the solid feeling they gave- too soft for me sometimes means too slow and not as responsive
