- “In memory of Angelo Parrilla who unfortunately passed away on April 14th this year”.
The DAP Kart has a lot of hype, with 40% of the Australian Kart Championship grid using this Kart Republic Built chassis.
In this review we will take a close look at the DAP Kart and put it through our testing parameters at the Southern Go Kart Club to see what the hype is about.
So, does it go as fast as it looks? After a day of testing, it is safe to say we have some exciting news for you.
Speaking of exciting news, we will have more information on our Gant Glove and MIR partnership coming soon. Be sure to visit their pages below.

Awesome review, very informative. This is exactly what the karting community needs, good side by side comparison between different karts.
I see that most of the discussion is on facts instead of opinion. But bro this is your channel, dont hesitate to let us know what you really think of it !!!
One thing I'd like to see is all the karts being tested on the same track so that we know how the lap time compares. Im running an 2019 second hand KR, and still figuring out if i should buy OTK or KR for my next kart. I think i will stick with KR after watching this video.
Glad to see another review! KRs aren't nearly as popular in the US. Depending on the series or where you run I'd say they make up maybe 10-20% of the grid. OTK just dominates the fields here. Keep em' coming!
I’ve never even heard of them in Canada 🤣
Hi Clayton, thanks for watching 👀 Hopefully I can get my hands on a few more karts to review soon.
I think the popularity is very dependant on the tyres used, in Australia we used to run on the MG Yellow tyre, like the US today, and the OTK kart was the most popular. We now race on the grippy LeCont Tyres like in Europe, and there has been a big trend towards the KR Karts. Thanks for the support.
Epic vid, love DAP karts. RIP Angelo
Thanks for your support.
1982 dap jesolo " like on rails sticky tyres most corners on 2 wheels ( can push hard only need fast motor especially on long straights )
Similar to a Kali Kart of the mid 80s
Are the Will Power Karts exactly the same as the Kart Republic also?
Cool to see DAP being brought back. My uncle raced for DAP and imported the chassis here in the states. Set a land speed record with their lay down kart and motor and several IKF and WKA championships. I remember Angelo would come down a few times a year. Super cool dude.
Thanks for watching 👀 and the comment. 🤙
Not so popular in Europe, it’s 75% OTK here.
is anyone able to link the acriment adjustors? I cant seem to find them
Store.tomwilliammotorsport.com.au/product/ackerman-kit-stub-axle-extenders/
@vitalkarting the link doesn't seem to work. Is there another vendor? I'm looking to order a set
great video, thank you very much. one question regarding Ack_Ex what is the basic setting for the position on the steering column (med, up, down) and which tie rods are installed in conjunction with Ack_Ex...? Best regards and thanks, Pat
Sorry for the delayed response.
In the middle on the steering column and go to tomwilliamsonmotorsport.com.au they should have the kit for you to buy.
Thanks for watching 👀
Would the FA2 OK kart be the same as the DAP Kart?
Yep same kart mate.
You guys should do a comparison using late 90's to early 00's chassis' and see how they stack up against these new karts..... I'd venture to guess the time comparison isn't too far off one another. Chassis hasn't really changed much, other than the increase in price every damn year. Ridiculous!
Hi Tony Kart Racer,
This a great idea 💡 👏
I actually have a Tony Kart Mitox, I might be able to arrange this exact video.
There are a few major differences, but I think lap times will be very comparable.
Cheers
what's the base set up for the kart republic/dap chassis
Hi Kai Bib,
1395mm rear track
Medium axle
Medium rear ride height
Central Castor
2mm toe out - overall
2mm negative camber - overall
10mm front spacers
Seat in recommended position from KR
Ackerman kit
Plastic front bar.
You should be sweet from there.
If you have any other questions let me know.
Cheers.
@@vitalkarting thanks mate
Any idea where I could find the recommended seat position guidelines online?
Hey, really enjoy your videos. I was karting from 7 to 15 then took a break. Last class I ran was jmax 7 years ago. How much does a tag kart roughly weigh? Looking to get back into it and want to see if I need to lose or gain weight through led. Cheers
Hey Dak, thanks for watching 👀.
Love the feedback, karts weight between 79kg (Arrow) to 82 kg with an X30 and no fuel. Light class is usually 160kg and Heavy is 180kg. Cheers
Not the only kart that comes with a seat
Good.
Thanks for watching 👀
Hope parolin up next?
As soon as I can get my hands on one I'll do a review. There is a massive backlog in Australia atm. Hopefully soon.
Who is dealing with these in QLD?
CXR Racing Engines are what you are looking for 👍
Im from Canada and I’ve never heard of this kart before, let alone seen one. where are they popular???
Europe
@@That1GoatSpeet I see. We only have Birel, OTK, Awesome Kart and Intrepid here. You'll see the odd CRG and recently Praga's though.
Hi Anthony, thanks for watching 👀
Kart Republic are World Champions, they have also won the SKUSA Supernats in the USA and multiple Australia Championships. They are very popular in all of these regions.
They are a top quality product.
Cheers
Australia
Great review 👍

Do a CRG, would be cool, don't see many of them
We are working on it
