Depth Camera (eg. Kinect) Mapping

I imagine Google is salivating over the possibilities. And they're hastily retrofitting their mapping vehicles with Kinect hacks like this.

Seems like this could be used for robotics pretty easily. :)
3D motion capture, facial recognition, voice recognition, and mapping all in one device. (could save allot of cash for less well funded projects while allowing them to focus more on their research topic)

Need stuff. I can tell that Kinect technology has a lot more applications for it in the future besides games.

I was about to ask how you are powering the kinect.

it seems this is something that the goverment would truly be intrested in. pic; a pair of raybands fitted with this tec... haveing the ability to record and document intire complex's in there intirity for later refrence.. at anyrate.. i want to be able to do this and use this tec. to make a 3d model for use in blender... i then want to be able to convert to md2
