How often do you replace your tyres?

Ride summer in forest with good tread pattern and when fall comes and forest turns into a mud pit, start riding gravel and road with your new slemi slicks ;D

If you get a sidewall puntcher you can always stitch it up with floss and a some superglue to seal the whole if it's tubeless, and for the added extra protection you can always put a spear rubber section inside where you stitch it up.

Hello Steve and Chris! Most mtb brands have at least one ebike model to offer, but do you have any idea why would two of the most desirable mtb brands out there like Yeti and Santa Cruz resist to produce a proper emountain bike?? It seems like they are falling behind in this growing mtb segment. Cheers!

It is because of the popular misguided opposition to them, and the complete lack of trail access for ebikes. They couldn't sell enough to offset the cost of R&D.
I don't ride an ebike, but I ride a mtb that weighs as much as one, and I can ride it at 15mph on the flats, and stop just as fast as lighter bikes. So, their speed and braking arguments are invalid. The fact that they cause more wear on the trails is offset by the increased number of riders who would maintain them. Finally, an ebike is constrained by its battery capacity, which means it's only good for about four, five hours before it needs charged. That's one really long climb or a few good ones. Even though they can climb faster, it takes more power to do so, which reduces the battery life, and they don't go that much faster on long climbs, if the battery is to last. A person can last much longer if well conditioned.
Finally, an ebike is marketed towards those in advanced age, and those with disabilities, or those heavier set riders who just can't climb as well as others. It's a very niche market with a lot of limitations on the bike, and little to no trail access for them. In Idaho, there is no access to non motorized trails without an ada ebike placard stuck to the bike.

I've done 2200km on my ebike so far, front tyre (2.6 Schwalbe Magic Mary) still looks almost as new but rear one (2.6 Schwalbe Hans Dampf) is now quite spent, I'll need to change it soon. Looks like front tyre will last at least 2 cycles of the rear one, maybe even 3

If you wanted to commute to work along roads and gravel through the week, then hit the trails on weekends, would you swap your tyres over before and after weekends, or get a spare pair of wheels?

Ok so I don't have an emtb but I've never replaced the tyres as of yet been 5 years and they are still going strong originally my dad's mtb it's a full sus fs26 Apollo with disc front and v brakes back. The tyres were stock with the bike and has held up. Not much wear / cracks even know I ride it everyday. Only things I've replaced are the cables and soon the brake pads

I just ride on pavement and gravel and I use my tires till they are worn smooth and wear a hole right through. Of course when my tire is really worn I don’t go far from home

ride on hardpack trails, slicks with side knobbys. Technique is the key to get good grip on slick surface (wet roots, rocks etc) Less rolling resistance.... On an ebike, you just sit and pedal and let the tire grip or slip.

For side cuts, what do you think about that kind of glue and dust rubber to fix it? I’ve seen it in a few videos and looks pretty good. I had a sidecut las t week and I’m waiting for it. I don’t want to get rid of that thre it’s a schwalbe hans dumpf with about 150km. It’s almost new.

Keep e-bikes on the road! (where they have always have belonged) ... The trails are busy enough and all older folks need to stay safe/keep your fitness up on a real mtb.
