- Maya The Bee - Opening Theme
This is the U.S. version of the Maya The Bee opening theme.
Sorry about the low volume; the tape was pretty old, and this is the best I could get out of it.
Enjoy, and feel free to comment.
Sep-06, 2019: I played with the audio a little. I make no claims to it being anything great, but it's something I imagine: • Maya The Bee - Opening...
Superior versions:
• Maya the Bee - Saban's...
• Maya the Bee - Saban's...
LYRICS:
Who's a friendly little bee
Playing oh so happily
Buzzing here and buzzing there
Busy buzzing everywhere
Maya loves and Maya cares
Maya gives and Maya shares
Maya likes to play around
But she'll never let you down
Maya
Maya the bee
Maya
Maya the bee
See her flying through the air
Buzzing here and buzzing there
Saying catch me if you dare
Busy buzzing everywhere
Maya
Maya the bee
Maya
Maya the bee

WOW!!!!! I watched this when I was like 5 years old. David the gnome...eureeka's castle...what a trip down memory lane....thanks for posting
Wow. I forgot all about Eureka's Castle 😳
@@bigslimm7 in an out of obscurity, I remember it and I still love it, early 90's education children's programming at its best, then there was Fox Kids with X-Men (no hate)
And don't forget about the Elephant show
Yup I remember ALL of those shows!!! I loved the lineup. Thanks for a deeper trip down memory lane @RJ Cruz.
Had some great shows as kids. Power to our generation.
THIS is Maya the Bee. I watch the new ones with my daughter like awww...they tried. LOL
CoCo410 I grew up with The new one but I prefer this one better
YES FOR MY CHILDHOOD! this Eureka's Castle and Fragglerock!!!!!!!!!!!
+Greg Traylor Same here bro! Used to sit in front of Nick Jr and watch all of this stuff, the Elephant Show, Picture Pages, David the Gnome, etc!
+Greg Traylor I use to watch this before I went to pre school! I LUVED Eureka's Castle and David the Gnome too!!! =)
I loved Eureka's Castle and Fraggle Rock!
Greg Traylor so much yes!
Just came from Eureeka's castle. Hadn't heard these theme songs in nearly 30 years. When i was 5 and 6 this came on before "Maya the Bee". After those two programs the babysitter would walk me across the street to kindergarten. Simpler times.
My name is Maya and I cried after seeing this again...Maya the Bee and Heidi were my absolute favourites.
Hello fellow Mya ! I kid you not my older sisters name is Heidi. Wow what small world. 💀
Whenever I hear or see of someone named Maya, my brain defaults to, "Maaaaaaya.... maya the bee," and then I 'diddly do da' the little tune at the end
My cousin has a dog named Maya, and this cartoon was the first thing I thought of, haha.
lol I have the same happening to me .
my names maya
my name is maya-
Incidentally, the updated CGI Maya the Bee (as voiced by Fluttershy herself, Andrea Liberman) has a "shoo-BEE-doo-BEE-doo" dance with corresponding Animated Music Video done in her honor. ua-cam.com/video/_E6Qs3nqeSY/v-deo.html
Oh the good old days when life was simple and I was 4. This was one of my favorite cartoons, along with gnomes, noozles, wuzzles, the gummie bears, eurekas castle, under the umbrella tree, fraggle rock, and muppet babies. I wish I could go back in time, sitting in the kitchen with a plate of sliced hot dogs and ketchup singing along to Maya the bee. Memories....
ME TOO! Same age at the same time, when life was simple!
don't forget the little bits!
@@langan209 I forgot all about The Little Bits 😩!!
Remember when Nick Jr. was good?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
I certainly do. Now it’s nothing but garbage
Wasn't expecting to find you here.
@@tordsworld4726
I’m here
I remember!
Me too!
I always tell people about this show and no one remembers it
It was insanely popular in Central Europe, where it's still aired on TV quite frequently (Czech Republic, Germany, Poland etc.), but I don't think it's as well-known in the UK or the US. At least most of my friends don't remember it too well at all.
Here in Germany everyone remembers it🙈😂 but the intro is different...
This was my favorite show😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I’m from DC
Me too! Nobody remembers this. This was my shit
I remember it but it aired around the time I was still in school I only caught this cartoon around school holidays or summer
I remember watching this on either PBS or YTV back in the 1980s.
So much Nostalgia! TV isn't like it used to be. :'(
+Nine_Tails137 P.S. BTW, Is it just me, or does this show look like an old school Anime? :\
iko
+Paul Quinlan and ll
Paul Quinlan
And What?
+Nine_Tails137 kind of
That nostalgia gut check...
I used to watch Maya the Bee, David the Gnome, and The Little Bits back in the early 90's. They would all come on Nick Jr. or PBS kids, I can't remember which one. Kids Incorporated would come on too!
I KNOW the Little Bits used to play on Nick Jr. in the 90s as did David the Gnome-I used to love those shows when I was little ^-^
Ink Pen oh man David the gnome. well it's going to be one of those nights on YT tonight I guess.
Ink Pen DEFINITELY on Nick
I watched those too! What was the name of the show that had a Koala bear that ate eucalyptus leaves all the time... I have that memory and I feel it’s because I’ve seen it on a cartoon.... 🤔
David the Gnome!!!! OMG! I still remember that theme song word for word!! 😭😭
This theme song from my childhood popped in my head just now(at age 42.lol). Thank you for posting this on here. 💛 🐝
Same here and I'm 40 lol
Loved watching this as a kid back in the early 90s. Just recently learned Maya, Lil Bits, Noozles, and Little Koala are actually anime.
My kids used to watch this show everyday back on Nick before they started running shows that "teach". David the Gnome, Sharon, Lois and Braum's Elephant Show, a show about koala bears, and a few others...this theme song was running through my head today but I couldn't remember all the words..thanks for posting this, it was driving me crazy, now I remember the words!
I think the show about the koala bears was called the noozels
No problem. I'm glad you and everybody else likes it. Thanks for stopping by!
The show that made me physically incapable of killing or allowing an insect, spider or other small organism to come to harm. Thank god they never had a special episode about bed bugs or I'd be screwed.
You know that scene from Hook where Tootles lost his marbles and then he found them, that's me right now. I just found all my marbles. This is the best thing I have found on the internet, I used to watch this shit in my batman pajamas and I'll be damned if it isn't David the Gnome up next, my lucky stars.
One of my favorite theme songs ever as a kid growing up lol
They are talking about this show coming back as I was watching Sprout with my son. That show was my absolute favorite!!!! I'm watching it when it comes on. I'm 31 by the way....
This was on Nick when I was a kid in the 80's. We watched this one, the Noozles, The little Koalas, David the Gnome, Cities of Gold, the Little Prince. Nick had all the good stuff back then. Good post!
I watched that exact line up everyday as kid! oh and you forgot the elephant show, Eureeka's castle and the Little bits!
I did too oh the 90s
I agree, I use to watch maya the bee series back in the 80's when I was a kid.
I watched all of those cartoons back in the day! Man, I loved Nickelodeon/Nick Jr. back then.
I remember that line up!!! Yassssss
Ah, the memories. I remember watching this cartoon on Nick Jr. back in the early 90's. For a kid's show, I also remember it being pretty dark at times, especially the episodes with the wasps, which were practically the main villains (and very sadistic and cruel characters, might I add). Still, this was pretty entertaining for its time.
yup
maya the bee been out longer hmm i think its been over 10 years?
Bunny Happyjoyjoy
Maya the Bee (German: Die Biene Maja) is the main character in The Adventures of Maya the Bee, a German book, comic book series and animated television series, first written by Waldemar Bonsels and published in 1912. The book has been published in many other languages.
But the cartoon it's self came out in 1975.
Xanatos21 Wasps? I was pretty sure those were hornets. Difference is literally in size, and some of the episodes actually had wasps in them, being like twice as small as hornets.
Kirill Nielson
Twice as small? Nice... Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Kids today will never know how awesome this was
This is so nice! Ok I'll say the whole truth then, I never heard of this cartoon when I was a child but stumbling upon it on youtube even when I am 44 years old brightened up my day. So nice.
i'm teary eyed right now as i'd been looking for this for years. 😭 finally. I first watched this when i was in grade school. That was more than 20 years ago. 😊 Maya...
The funny thing is i thought maya was a boy
I used to LOVE this show when I was really little, but like no one I have ever talked to remembered it or ever heard of it. Thanks so much for posting!!
I watched this, David the Gnome, Pinwheel, The Elephant Show, and Today's Special on Nick jr in the late 80's. I was about 3-4 years old
NOBODY I know remembers Today's Special!! Loved that show! Thank you for mentioning it!
David the gnome is better! NOT MAYA THE BEE!! This song me me cry!!!!!!!!!
I loved this cartoon! :) They don't make shows like this anymore :( I love the theme song too...always get it stuck in my head.
It was early 90s when I watched this. I was like 5 or 6. I dont know why but it always stood out in my mind. Not a super awesome animated show by any means, but I remember really enjoying the innocence of this intro as well as the show. Good old nostalgia.
Watching this video brought a smile to my face. Now to find the show
I watched at 3 years old, when i lived in Arkansas! Now that i remember this, my life is complete.
I'm soooo lifted right now, and Maya the Bee is reminding me of 92
Thank you for sharing. I remember that im now 32. When i ts start i was trow my everything what i do and sit watch everything...
I dont recall being a fan of this particular cartoon but it reminds me of a time where there was quality programming on TV. Hell, I even watched Nick Jr. and I was just a tad too old for it at the time.
"Oh no, not the bees! AHHHH, NOT THE BEES!"
matt0044 bee movie
my niece and nephew watch the new version of it and i brought them here to show them the version me and their mama used to watch. the classics are the "bee's knees".....get it? lol. anyways, i'm so happy that things like youtube exist to allow me to travel through time and share my experience with the next generation.
A cartoon with awesome backround art and innocent themes. A great children's cartoon
This is my jam.
Same
I'm being hit hard with a Nostalgia Tsunami! I saw this show when I was in my low single-digits.
Classic, I used to watch this all the time. Back when cartoons had cool opening and exit themes.
I used to watch this all the time as a kid!!! LOL My grandmother's name is Maya, and I used to call her Maya the bee LMAO
Just had a moment with family. As a toddler, I called 911 on my Mom for not letting me watch my show (I hung up before talking though). The police called back, my Papa answered and I learned a lesson. I had no idea what the show was called, but I just googled 90's bee cartoon and found Maya. Unbelievably awesome, thank goodness for the internet.
one of the original nick jr. tv shows....aired at 9:30am weekdays just before eureeka's castle...
We could sure use some anime like this again
Japanese anime? it's out there, it's been making waves for a while.
I use to sing this all the time
Maya, Maya the bee🌞🐝 🎹🎶🌞🐝🎼
I'm 29, and I still randomly burst into this theme song. Thanks for uploading - I could never find it in English.
awww lil Maya i just love her
I remembered this show. Back when I was very little.
I loved this show, but I didn't remember the theme being THAT well sung, Beautiful harmony.
This song makes me think of my precious baby boy Christopher Vasquez born 03/05/89. Your dad loves you and misses you so much!!!
I remember getting up in the morning to watch this cartoon, along with David the Gnome and the Noozles
A classic! I forgot all about this cartoon
Man, Saban had his hands on a lot of my childhood shows, this and of course power rangers.
i'm from Canada, and i used to watch it in the 90s.
I remember being so jealous every time I got up and my sis was watching this. I go to school and she'd stay home on her bean bag watching the rest of this show.
This is a cartoon that helped define early Nickelodeon...
I agree. I was watching this along with, "The Mysterious Cities of Gold," and "The Little Prince."
My daughter was 2 or 3 when this show came on. She loved it and watched it all the time! Her name is Megan and we called her Megan the Bee. Of course, she didn't like that. But she loved the show! Thank you for sharing this and bringing back a great memory!!!
I loved that show, my sister and I would watch everyday after school.
I used to watch this show when I was really young, and to this day I've never been scared of bees at all
Maya, Maya the Bee 🌞🐝
Awh! This takes me wayyyy back. I was a wee lass when this was on Nickelodeon :) I used to love this show, The Noozles, David the Nome, Muppet Babies and Eureka's Castle :) So many cute, precious cartoons back then.
fun thing, i was named after her.... 'cos you kinda looked like her when you were a baby' my mum said.....
Maya the bee, inspector gadget and Heidi were literally the best cartoons shows.
hello youtube. i just wanted to share that when i was a very little kid my grandpa nicknamed me Anna The Bee because of this cartoon. today is his 96th birthday, he lives across the ocean now. and he still remembers it/calls me this sometimes. makes me so happy and reminds me of good memories :)
Oh my god, I remember seeing every episode of this when I was a kid XD Old school memories :)
Interesting fact, this show was based on a pre-world war 1 german children's book that dealt with themes like individualism vs collectivism, nationalism, and militarism.
thanks for uploading, hun. this made me smile
I had to find this, the original. It's an 2015 Maya The Bee that tried it lol!
I walked into the living room today and my daughter was watching the new Maya the bee. I was like why they change the song lol

Well, the entire _Maya the Bee_ franchise is loosely based upon a series of kid's stories titled "The Adventures of Maya the Bee", so there is that. Plus, like any enduring property updated for multiple generations, it has been released in various forms (as even the classic anime dubbed by Haim Saban had 2 independently different English theme songs).

Oh yeah, explain Muppet Babies?
@@derekbates4316 What about it? It, too, has multiple iterations, beginning with the originating "I'll Always Love You" song sequence from the 3rd Muppet movie _The Muppets Take Manhattan_ followed up by the 1984 cartoon across 8 seasons that was animated by famed Japanese animation studios Toei & AKOM whilst being developed through the Henson Associates arm of The Jim Henson Company in collaboration with Marvel Productions, which ended up so popular that it gave rise to a _Sesame Street_ LIVE-style stage show involving walkaround mascot versions of the toddler Muppets, plush toys sold by fast food franchise McDonald's, quite a few storybooks, PVC figurines, a CD album containing many of the show's episodic songs, a fleeting flashback cameo shown via film reel projector in 1987's _Muppet Family Christmas_ that united the big 3 Muppet brands together (that is, _Sesame Street_ [1969-present], _The Muppet Show_ [1976-1981] / _Muppet Babies_ [1984 version] & _Fraggle Rock_ [1983-1987]) for the holidays & the spin-off Muppet Kids stories that aged the former babies up to prepubescent childhood (Skeeter hadn't quite disappeared just yet, since she was still one with the gang until her early adulthood, as far as the books are concerned) and after Skeeter's re-emergence in _The Muppet Show Comic Book: Family Reunion_ issue in the early 2010's & the April 2012 concert tribute to the Muppet creator titled _Jim Henson's Musical World_ that played at Carnegie Hall, rumblings of a series comeback for certain Muppet properties began circulating, with the CGI reboot of _Muppet Babies_ debuting in 2018 on Disney Jr.
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh
You forgot the various Muppets iterations, for without which, there would be no Muppet Babies; shocking you'd overlook that, I mean you seemed to be on a roll.
Hell, by your logic, the backlash against the new Star Wars films would run into this same dilemma, as the many versions of the Star Wars saga are just as many if not more than either MB or Maya. However, doesn't make the existence of the newer versions right.
i like watching that theme i thought it was cute! and it makes you happy for some reason!
I can't believe they made a remake of this classic.
0:35 Fern Gully ripped this off so hard.
This takes me back to my childhood. I didn't think anyone remember this cartoon.
Holy smokes I remember this show from when I was about 6!
This brings back memories of a time when life was simple for people my age. Thanks for the post!
My son used to watch this when he was little. He's 21 now. I still sing it to him from time to time but I started to forget how the lyrics go. Then I thought, I'll try UA-cam and OMG it's here! UA-cam is so awesome it has everything! Thanks for posting it! ;-)
Wow I used to love this show! Thanks for uploading!
