This was so masterfully done and intelligently in-depth. I’ve been listening over the course of 2 days and have loved the amount of detail you put throughout this video. The nuances you added about often overlooked characters like Maeve also was such a breath of fresh air. I hope you continue this series!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! & I definitely want to do season 2, but it'll have to be on a later date since I already got a few projects planned for these next couple of months
MM's original comic storyline was unbelievably insulting, stereotypical, and hurtful to the black community. His mom gave me straight up mammy vibes and his daughter being so sexualized as a literal child was gross to see. It was so nice to see how beautifully his home life was portrayed in the series and to not see the writers just decide to resort to such awful stereotypes about our community. This breakdown was so well done and I can't imagine how much time it took. Thank you so much ☺️
I have a feeling that if they did a whole series like the episode I’m your pusher man they would still make changes to the material because the boys is an example of people not wanting a full 100% adaptation
Was only familiar with the show, so it was fun to learn about the original material. Would certainly be interested in your thoughts on the later seasons and any connection to the source material as the show became more it's own thing.
bro read up the invincible comics, they are so much better and the art and the skin itself is beautifully drawn, then read up.....if you dare......IREEDEEMABLE 😈
Such a great breakdown of the show and comic book! I hadn't seen much of the show, but it kind of reminds me of Watchmen with it being a darker look at "superheroes". Sounds like the show made some smart changes with this adaptation. And the Haley Joel Osment casting in amazing 😂
While i still greatly dislike the comics from my last read through a couple of years back, thanks for reminding me of its best aspects, the friendship and world. While they are easy to forget in the mountain of meh, they are also one of the main reasons i read till the end. Speaking of the ending i have to say fuck that ending!!
Those are interesting contrasts between the graphic novels and the show. Would you do a 11/22/63 show versus book review ? July 7th 2024 5:55 AM Central Time
Seems like this will be an interesting comparison. I hate the comics and only used to like the show myself. Too edgy. Good on you for getting through it
the boys show is for normies who can't handle the grotesque style and have to be reminded they are the good guys, the comic is for every normal person out there who cares for immersion and world building which the comics excel at, plus hotter women edit: seeing the video, the comics is just for men , actual men , enough said
Jupiter's Legacy > The Boys Legacy is an actual, deep, layered, story. The Boys is just some basement trolls fetish Fantasy diary. That's why the Show is different from the book. Because the book SUCKS.

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, sometime down the line, I'm definitely gonna back to this and recount the second season!
new 8 pages deep just dropped 👀
Such a well made comparisons!
Thanks!
Fantastic review and comparison. Definitely in my top 5 shows of all time.
Same here! Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Great video I would love to see it continued

Yeah, definitely seen that over the seasons. I would love to come back and revisit season 2 again

Please do more!!!!! ❤
If you wanna review another show based on a comic, it’d be cool if you reviewed Invincible.
Yeah, that'd be a good one! Haven't seen the latest season yet, so a recap on the first would be cool

Thanks for watching! 😁 and yeah that casting choice was on point 🤣
I was always curious about the show, so thank you for doing this so that I don't have to watch it lol

Seriously, those were the moments that kept me going. And yeah, that ending made me so mad lol
i didn't realise there was also comics
Yup! And vastly different too

Thanks! & It's possible! Though, there are some other shows I'd want to discuss and review first before this one
@@8pagesdeep I will patiently wait. I have been watching your videos for 7 years now I think and love them.
Are you gonna do The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes?
Yup! Finishing up the video script this week

Thanks! Yeah, don't mind it all that much. Growing up, I would have gravitated to this kind of material more if I had known about it
