this was seriously one of the most descriptive pieces of music i've heard. the way he sets up the scene with the story before hand (unfortunately not in the UA-cam video). it blows your mind how accurately the music completes the story. very impressive soundtrack work!
Ditto the first comment! Saw the 4/21 show at Town Hall and have been a fan of Thile's for some time now as well. I do believe he will be referred to in history as one of the most important musical masters of his time (and ours).
It certainly isn’t Nickel Creek but Thile sounds as if he’s still drawing from the same deep well. The whole band is delightful. What a pleasure to hear this.

I wish he wouldn’t start the show with a piece that lasts 10 minutes and is full of sharp and flat notes.
