      @MadEnglishTV Thank you, Mark!
Lately, I haven't been writing much at all. I’ll share once I write something. I write them in Bulgarian first and then translate them.
I made a vow to shed some weight,
This heavy burden feels like fate.
But my mouth, it plays a crafty game,
Pulling me back to hunger's flame.
The pangs of hunger gnaw my soul,
At the fridge, I’ve lost control.
Should I lock it, hide the key?
      Oh, this hunger’s torturing me!
Wait, there’s cake I stashed away,
How could I forget that yesterday?
      Pizza, pasta, snacks galore,
      Treasures hidden, what a store!
A little snack, it won’t go wrong,
Just a bite, I’ll stay strong.
      Chips, a sandwich, maybe two,
Surely less than I would rue.
Fine, I’ll eat, it’s only fair,
Can’t let good food waste out there.
      The diet starts another day,
      Tonight, I feast-come what may!
      😂😂😂😂😂😂
      I'll hope you enjoy it

I am really impressed by wild animals such as alligators, and had the pleasure of holding one myself, but I am well aware that they can be very fierce 🐊
Actually I like all animals. I have had so many different pets in my life such as cats, a dog, parakeets, canary, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish and even stick insects. My cat is most adorable when she grooms herself and rubs her snout with her little paw 🐱 💕

    Hallöchen, Mark!!!
First and foremost, I'd like to give Ting ting a 👍!!!!! Well done, dear classmate!!!👏👏👏
Undoubtedly, your efforts are worth a great deal, dear Mark!!! Actually they are invaluable!!!👍👍👍
I was wondering how I shall let the recipient know my gender!!!🤔🤔🤔
    I mean, I just can't say: "I'm Doreen from the ***** department!!! OBTW: I'm a woman!!!", can't I???😁😁😁
How would you counsel me to handle this issue???
I can see your point, though!!! "Dominique", e.g., is a first name that can refer to either a man or a woman!!! (In fact I knew people of both genders with this first name!!!)
Let me give you another example, Andrea is considered a female name in German, but it's a male first name in Italian if I recall correctly!!!
Several times I read the term "edible" for cute baby animals, such as kittens or puppies on the Internet!!!
Do you think it's possible to describe them in such a way??? (Edible/zum Auffressen)!!!😁😁😁
Oooooooh, I also wanna have a sister who will give me a bunny for my birthday!!!🙏🙏🙏🐰
BTW: You played the growling dog quite authentic!!!🐶😁👍👍👍
You might remember that, if I had my druthers, all venemous snakes and spiders could go the way of the dodo, without hesitation!!!🐍🕷
Okay, I'll never try to make friends with a polar bear, I promise - tempted as I might be, since they're too edible!!!😁😁😁😉
I already knew most of the body parts of these animals, except for the word "scales" (Schuppen)!!!
In German "Schuppen" means dandruff, fish scales as well as an old shed!!! That's kind of weird, eh???🤔😁
Since it's of utmost importance to learn vocabulary in context, I've always connected the word "snout" with the famous GDR cake "Cold dog snout/Kalte Hundeschnauze"!!!🐶🍩
It mainly consists of cookies and a hell of a lot of chocolate!!!
The word "antlers" reminds me of the German word "Arsch-geweih" (Ass antlers) the German equivalent to the English word "tramp-stamp"!!!
    Joke time!!!
A cuckoo (Kuckuck) flies over the ocean!!! All of the sudden a shark ("Hai" in German, pronounced "Hi"🙋‍♀️) shows up, it cuts the water surface, waving with a fin!!! The shark says "Kuckuck🙋‍♀️" (which also can mean "hi"), the cuckoo replies: "Hai🙋‍♀️" (Hi🙋‍♀️)!!!😂😂😂
Sorry, Mark, I simply couldn't resist!!!
This joke has already been a rather stupid one when I was a kid, and I'm afraid it didn't get any better meanwhile!!!
Apparently, I'm the only one who thinks it's funny!!!🙈🙈🙈
Have a wonderful day in Calgary!!!
    Take care, my friend!!!😎👑😎👑😎🤝🇨🇦🇩🇪🙋‍♀️

Hey Doreen, in the evening I often love to read your comments. Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, I am too exhausted or tired to drop a line. Today I just want to confirm that your shark joke is really funny if you are a German native speaker. I likewise knew this one since I was a boy.
Anyway, I wish you have a wonderful evening.
      Take care,
      Michael 😊

    • @MadEnglishTV
      @MadEnglishTV  3 роки тому +1

About describing cute animals as "edible", I don't think I've heard that, but the concept is not uncommon. For example, you could say, "She's so cute; I could eat her right up!"

    • @MadEnglishTV
      @MadEnglishTV  3 роки тому +1

I agree with you about the snakes and spiders! In fact, I'd go a step further and say that even the non-venomous ones can take a hike! 😁
