man this car looks so smooth,confortable and effortless to drive, my favorite car
My uncle owns one and it is literally the car you need to get if you're on $5000/6000 budget. When you're inside, you can't feel the car driving, the comfiest car I've been in 100%.

Got mine w221 LWB 320 cdi with 260000 miles doing 245 km/h on autobahn Germany last summer and i don't feel the age of the car or the miles still drive perfect , this is a machine , 1 milion kms can do with this engine if is well looked after !
U think i can buy one with over 200k without having to worry about high mainteinance risk?
@@adobb6221 it depends on what cond. you find it , on mine i do all the jobs myself and is not too expensive but if you have to go to the garage or dealer then could be expensive , but if you find a good car with all the problems fixed by that mileage then yes you can buy one , find a owner who was looking after that car and take with you a mechanic you can trust to do the checks !
In UK these cars are cheap but the are RHD

@@adrianpais6847 what RHD stands for? Here in Croatia I'll buy for around £10500 or €12000. In Germany you can get one for as low as €8500 or so.

No nailing diesel belongs in a sovereign S-Class, otherwise very nice.
@@Prince_Vegeta_BMW either V8 or V12 engines. Diesel is just great if you drive like 20.000 miles a year, but who does that in a 10 year old S-Class
zero to 100 in 8 seconds is slow, but over all its fast for what you get. Throw a supercharger onto it or twin turbo it and then we will see a major diff. wonder tho if any other parts may require reinforcing is done so
The automatic's gear changes looked and sounded smooth, but this is an S-Klasse so it is as it should be.
I have one of these long wheelbase and it is an absolutely sublime machine. I love it
What's the maintenance like on them?
@@SirMrShanks Not to expensive I use a slpecalised local Mercedes independent and he is excellent. I change the oil every 5K miles and I have had one or tw small issues witl electronics but overall not bad.

My dad has the same but its the S65 AMG which has over 600 horsepower and its just awesome😍😍 i have the 2003 s55 and i dont have words for it😘😘🔥🔥

@@thulanicele7843 if you take care of them from time to time, do the small services, you will get the car going for million of miles💯 mine is about 350k miles, but my dads one is almost 700k miles without any problems

Wow, the performance is amazing for only 235 PS but I reckon the torque is probably close to 400 NM. Just love the way it still can accelerate above 200 kmh

They're better in every way. Basically 1975-1989 Mercedes = fantastic. 1990-2002 Mercedes = rusty and poor build quality. 2003-2009 Mercedes = perhaps the best of all. 2009-present Mercedes = cheap plastics, not the build quality of the past, electronics problems. So a 2003-2009 E Class, CLK, SLK (from 2005), S class, etc are the best.

Sorry aber eine S Klasse mit 6 zylinder ist keine S Klasse. Für dieses Gewicht braucht man mindestens einen 8 Zylinder.

Worst engine. Only 4 cylinders, so noisy and not smooth. The 270 CDi is fantastic, but the 320 CDi is king.

Etwas zu schwer der Wagen für 3.2 Diesel da beschleunigt mein e39 525 D stage 1 um einiges schneller auf 100 und auf 200. Aber dennoch schicke s klasse kann man nichts sagen
Grauenhafte Beschleunigung. Der Lkw direkt am Anfang hat schon extra Platz gemacht. Keine Ahnung, wie man so einen Motor in eine S-Klasse bauen konnte. Aber mit dem S250 haben sie endgültig den Vogel abgeschossen.

It's not super fuel efficiant but it could be way worse. Fun to cruise arround but it's not a high-performer.
I definetly enjoy my ride.
I'm usually cruising anywa and when I want to overtake or pick up some speed it has more than enough torque.

Used to have the same v6 engine on a CLK 320 and with map optimization it used to pull 265hp & about 550nm. Man that was a joy, because it looks like a family coupe ( I didn't have the 320 sign at the back) many arrogant drivers on highway disrespect you from distance but it takes about 4-5 seconds to lose them on the back mirror when you floor the gas. The monster could accelerate till 220 non stop and you wouldn't feel it.
Germany has a grey aura but who cares if you got a nice Benz
