Hi there, do you perhaps have a tutorial on how to make these awesome shapes and patterns with the tube while painting? I struggling to get the hang of some of the shapes unless my hand and wrist movement is incorrect...
Couple reasons: 1. Eric Pare switched and if he did there is good reason. 2. With a T12 and only using one flashlight because you have more of a tube to fill you lose lumens with it filling the tube. The only real benefit to a T12 is putting in two flashlights and using one on strobe. It makes the process easier than with 2 t8's but I only do one flashlight on strobe and one constant maybe 10% of the time. 3. Saves space!
If you do it without wax paper your tube will look very transparent when light painting. You could also scratch up the outside of the tube as well for the same diffusion effect.
I was thinking about you fiddling around with that piece of baking paper and had a eureka moment - why wouldn't you send the tube down with some (let's say 180 grid) sandpaper instead?
You totally can! I have one that is sanded that a friend made. However trying to sand one takes a long time from my experience and I was never successful. Either one is great : ]]
My light is not consistent though the tube. The light fall off from the flashlight end compared to the other end is pretty dramatic. Which then causes the color not to be consistent through the tube. Any ideas?
Yes this is normal. What most people do it have a white cap on the end of the tube to help bounce the light back if you want more light in the tube. It is better than using mirrors. (We know this from checking with a light meter) A cheap easy solution is to use toilet paper on the end to help bounce light back.
😂Thank you. I'm going to try this. You are very entertaining to watch!
Rolling it around a broom handle first and then threading the paper threw is much better, less creases.
So nerdy, yet so fly. I had to sub!

Here is one but I can make more! ua-cam.com/video/O-DW7ex53KM/v-deo.html
How did you get the sparking affect?
What did you light the tube with and how did you set the light up?
Tube is just lit with a flashlight that I insert inside. Nothing special!
@@RussellKlimas awesome!!! Thanks for the reply..
Nice video. why did you switch from T12 to T 8.?

Russell Klimas thank you for taking time to send your very well explained answer!!! I really appreciate your help!!!
One thing I was curious about was now that you made the tube - how do you light it ?
you use a flashlight!
Thank you.
What kind of flashlights do you use. This has been a big struggle of mine.
I recommend any of the ones listed here for tubes lightpaintingtubes.com/news/the-best-flashlight-for-tube-light-painting-2020-edition
What’s the light source used
Just a flashlight my man. Make sure the head of the flashlight isn't over an inch.
hello, do you must put waxpaper, could it be just jel without waxpaper?

@@RussellKlimas thank you
Do you have a line on gels in length at a decent price since Eric no longer sells them?
he still does lightpainting.store/collections/diy
@@RussellKlimas Ooooh thank you!! I clicked on everything so I thought!
Instead of gel paper can I use RGB flash light?
You can, the issue will become getting an RGB light that is strong enough. Flashlight wise I'm using lights that are at least 1000 lumens.

I"m wary of sanding plastic for environmental reasons but it does sound like a great idea if the plastic dust can be disposed of properly!
For Begginer which Flashlight should i use . And Finding Tube for Photography Where can i get please Help me sir.
Under Low Budget Sir Please
What is the light source?
Flashlight

How many lumens has that flashlight? How many is optimal? Is 1000l will be fine?
Yes 1000 should be fine!
Thanks I made my own because of you but I did upgrade to parchment paper ( same cheap price and same seccion as the wax paper) works awesome. 👍
That is amazing! Parchment paper works just as well. : DD
@@RussellKlimas Yes the only issue with parchment is not being able to tape it so paperclips is what I've been using.
@@roadtrippin2781 Hmmm never had an issue myself. Flashlight normally helps keep it in.
Nice one! you are close to 100 subs :)
Thanks David! I'm trying to do my best and be consistent!
🔥🔥🔥😍
This video won’t play,, all others seem to work on your channel🤔
Hmmm plays for me ok! Sorry about that! : [[
