This is the reason why we are in the mess we are in. This is the reason why Trump is needed. Because the democrats give us such a bunch worthless candidates that haven't a clue as to what they are doing. Joe Biden, Harris, Poop Chute Pete, Mayorkus, Schiff and so on and on. Democrats only have themselves to blame for Trump. Compared to most all the democrats Trump is a genius. He pretty much solved the border problem single handed. Don't believe me just look up the numbers. Trump's highest number is 800,000 in one year with less then 500,000 in his last year. Biden is at 2 million a year. I'm a wheelchair user and the horror stories I've heard have kept me from flying. A dear friend of mine flew to New Orleans, had a connecting flight, their chair got damaged on both flights and the airlines spent a year arguing who owed the hundreds of dollars to repair it.
As a wheelchair user, we really need better sidewalks, protected turning lanes, more accessible buses, trains and cars.
Don't get me started on the wheelchairs themselves..

The easiest way to avoid this continual shutdown threat, is to include House and Senate salaries in the staff effected.
None of those clowns will risk their own salaries as easily as the will others.
Best way is to legislate that if a new budget is not in place by September 30. The previous year's budget is in force. No one should be able to hold the American People for hostage by threatening a shut down.

Having worked in Assisted Living Facilities, I was shocked to hear about wheelchairs. It does take time to learn safe transfers. I can also say in ALF's we were not allowed ever in any way to deny easy access to a wheel chair or walker .

There should be no exemptions to the Disabilities Act!
There needs to be a law that if they force you to work they must continue to pay you normally. And when those that didn't work get their guaranteed back pay the ones who had to work should get a bonus - period.
I have to travel with a walker and wheelchair and our airlines don't CARE!!! I can move around to get in without help but the the flight attendance act like I am LIEING about being disabled!!! Airlines need more education on this!!!
I live in Reno, Nevada. We currently have this major road infrastructure project to change how I-80 and I-395 connects. Is it a pain in the butt? Absolutely. Is it needed? Yes! The Reno Airport (KRNO) has a major upgrade going on currently. Forget about the slot machines in the terminal (they are everywhere in Nevada, even the grocery stores). Is the upgraded infrastructure needed? You better bet your bottom dollar! A couple of days ago, I navigated the I-80/395 interchange. I can't wait for it to be completed. Thursday, I am flying to Denver. I know the Reno airport is going to be a mess. I also know that Denver is a mess. Is it worth it? Yes. I'll put up with a couple of years of pain for 30 years of aaaahhhhh!

In 2019, fellow wheelchair-user literally died at my feet because they forgot his chair on the tarmac and pushed him to try to walk despite his pleas to stop. This happened in Iceland. I shook and cried the whole way to the US. They refuse the acknowledge the incident.
Have you contacted Secretary Pete about this. I bet he would be willing to look into it as long as it was an American carrier.

In Australia when you fly and is in a wheelchair you get priority. You have a flight attendant at each stop take you to the next boarding they stay with you all the way to your destination. This is from personal experience
I worked for the federal government for almost 40 years, there were shutdowns, the longest I remember was about 3 weeks.
Love Pete B but a note about ADA accomodations: I flew from Vancuver to San Fran years ago, and I was given the privilege of helping a woman in a wheelchair to board, ahead of ANYone else. It happened and that should not be overlooked. Just because this commentator hasn't seen it doesn't mean it hasn't/doesn't happen.

When a representative votes against something, that district needs to not get the funding. They voted for a rep who wants to make their life worse, and they should feel that suffering.
