    Interestingly, the Sailor website actually currently does list it as "King of Pens" now. Perhaps they got the memo?

    I’ve purchased a bunch of different fountain pens and by far the Sailor pens are my favorite - they write perfectly every time.

    Sailor and the Pilot Custom 824 are my favorite pens. Only wish the Sailor pens held more ink like the 823.

    Merry Christmas, David! your video on the Sailor KOP ebonite convinced me to add 1 to my pen case. I have noticed when the ink level is low mine tends to railroad which leads me to believe it is a product of the outstanding ink flow which this pen has. Have you had the same experience? once the ink is refilled, it does not do it. Thanks again for the great video!

    looks like a fantastic pen. I may consider it in future, but the converter is really something I dont care for. I believe there was a limited edition piston filler mase.... but I guess wont even be able to get it used on ebay

      I have a MB 149 (M) and a Sailor 1911L w/Naginata nib. My KoPs have M & B nibs. I would recommend the naginata nib with a KoP if you’re ready and able to buy one.

    a pen like KOP isn't usually used for daily writing, it's for signing documents/contracts. that's why ink capacity isn't large.

    • @MichaelHarto
      @MichaelHarto 8 років тому

      i don't think those pens are for daily writing pen. pens between $100-$200 usually target the top of the market segment.

    • @antonc108
      @antonc108 8 років тому +3

      In addition, most Japanese prefer fine or extra fine nibs, a little ink capacity can still go a long long way with oriental fine and extra fine nibs.

    What is the name of that ink you are using in the Bungubat ink. Could you tell me the Japanese name of the color. I wasn’t sure I was looking at the same color in some of the boutiques. “4B” did not come up. Thank you.

    • @FigbootonPens

      I am not certain of the Japanese name. When this was available from a US retailer, it was only under the 4B name.

      Figboot on Pens I am confused between the urushi and ebonite model of the king of peb, are they the same or not? If they are not the same, how to differential them from photo preferably?

    • @sajjadhusain4146
      @sajjadhusain4146 2 роки тому

      @@bbppchan …Photos online are usually quite deceptive. But I’d say from experience of owning both types of pens, that even in photos ebonite looks very matte, and less shiny than the visibly very glossy look of urushi.

      @EkremAyna 4 роки тому +1

      @@puruttyaaa All Sailors are almost designed for a specific purpose in Japan and not to mention the differences between characters. There is no such thing as continuous handwriting with Kanji or Katakana. Sailor is great but at some certain conditions. On the other hand MB149 is good for alphabet not Kanji.

      @@puruttyaaa Yes currently I am using two KOPs, the nib is excellently on glossy paper but when the subject comes to fluent handwriting (taking notes) during a seminar, well not so great. KOP has a very long waiting time in Japan. Caran Dache idyllic blue for KOP and cosmic black for MB149.
      I use English alphabet for note taking and MB 149 is work horse.
