- Our heroes make another trip to the desert base and stumble onto a disturbing discovery. Their mission is made even more difficult as Odd, who broke a mirror just before leaving, seems to have brought nothing but bad luck onto himself and the others…
If you think about it, all the Lyoko Warriors did so well in this episode, but the bug messed them all up. Ulrich was obviously the MVP, but Odd was able to get two hornets, Aelita got two and then one died while chasing her, Yumi helped Ulrich in the beginning and then SOLOed William, Ulrich took out all the Kankrelots by himself and destroyed the Replika, and even Jeremy self piloted the Skid. If the bug hadn't messed them up, Aelita would've easily deactivated the tower, Odd most likely would've lived and then it'd be smooth sailing for Ulrich and Yumi to destroy the Replika.

@@SagaTheFunniest Obviously it’s all headcanon but Willem still has his humanity even if he is Xana’s slave, which includes fear of death, you may not actually “die” on Lyoko but it’s still quite apparent you feel the pain of the injury.

Not saying it wasn't an impressive battle but william could have survived had he super smoked when the rock was falling on him.
Besides William had to die for the sake of plot otherwise when Yumi devirtualized because of the bug, he would have entered code xana and ruined the mission.

I gotta say, Yumi usually gets the short end of the stick with Xana attacks, but when she kicks ass, she REALLY kicks ass. Her defeat of William here is one of her greatest moments.

I'm just gonna say it: considering all the times Odd has been an objectively bad friend (Replika, Lost at Sea, Saint Valentine's Day, etc), he kinda had this episode coming.
Incidentally, Ulrich feeds off Odd's misfortune confirmed. His game and his game with Yumi was on point.

I don't understand why Ulrich prefers Hornets. He doesn't have a ranged weapon and I'm sure he swapped monsters with Yumi once to avoid them.

The bad luck affecting everyone was a pain. The bug made it really tough.
Enjoyed the Ulrich and Yumi dialogue and and teamup action throughout. Awesome backgrounds in the base.

People are talking about how poorly William did against Yumi here. But actually it seems like it would make sense that William would be at a disadvantage in the air without good footing. His weapon is very bulky and weighty, making it tougher for him to make jumps. His super smoke thing also seems to only be able to work on physical canvases (the ground). Put that up in the air against the lightweight, agile, acrobatic, long-ranged Yumi and there is just no way to compete. It would be cool to see them try to implement this newfound disadvantage of William in future episodes to take him down more easily.

I agree with Ulrich about megatanks being the worse monsters to face. Fast on the ground, two attacks that can one hit kill, massive straight line laser hitbox and super armor that can protect their life points.
I like megatanks, but we don't see them much (if any) now; this season is all about tarantulas; they appear in every single episode.

@@marktwayne9796 what the virtual world is called in the sort of prototype project for code lyoko called Garage Kids. Pretty much the same premise except it seemed Odd was the main protagonist and the new kid while Ulrich,Yumi and Jeremy show him the lab with transporters (its structured pretty different too). They have Ulrich run around in xanadu a bit to show off what its like. He's a samurai type character there too. The CG isnt anywhere near as good looking as CL but it's kinda like the demo anyway lol. Ironically the 2d section is more fluently animated though
