- Bhiwandi Bypass is a 26 km long part of NH160 or Mumbai-Nashik Highway. As this highway connects with multiple roads and only road to connect Mumbai to Nashik, always traffic congestion occurs there.
So this 4 lane highway is being widened into a 8-lane highway with 4 lane service roads.

This is much needed dude, traffic just sucks all the time.
This is where maharashtra's money is. Not in the slums of Mumbai. No other state can complete with them. Just look at the development outside of Mumbai city. All other states have just one big city and that's about it.
My dear friend iam also from Mumbai have you ever visited Tamilnadu go visit your seeing such Roads in 2024 during the tenure of Balu DMK cabinet minister of india Road & transport development of roads were next level in Tamil Nadu Tamilnadu has developed City coimbatore, Salem, madurai, erode , Trichy, Chennai, pondicherry, Tirunelveli, Thuthukodi, kanyakumari, & many more as per GDP it's second largest in India after Maharashtra Mumbai being the financial capital as per the records Maharashtra has the highest amount of total tax not anywhere in India if you go to Mumbai Pune & if you do break journey u will be charged double toll have u seen this anywhere in India ?

Very informative, and superb graphics. One minor suggestion -- sometimes in stead of saying right side or left side of highway, it would be good to say westbound side or eastbound side, or the equivalent thing in Hindi. It would be good for Indians to develop more precise vocabulary and habits in speaking about directions and locations, and you can play a role in that.

Ghodbuder road in Thane requires a road widening. This has resulted in frequent traffic congestion, particularly during nighttime hours, posing potential safety hazards.

Doesn't this stretch cross the Virar-JNPT spur of DME? Would there be an interchange on the Mumbai-Nashik highway with the DME? I didn't see it in any of the maps/videos.

It's a much-needed upgrade for this route, but the entire patch till Asangaon is currently horrible. During weekends it easily takes 2- 3 hours to reach Asangaon from Thane & vice versa.
Hope the struggle every commuter is facing will be worth it after the road gets upgraded.
Also, apart from the Bhiwandi city bypass is there any other road one can opt for who is traveling from Mumbai to Nashik?

Everything goes to wain if people dont learn proper highway driving.
Let big trucks occupy right most lane, as they drive in fixed speed for better average. Also they dont have to take exit often.
Slow drivers stick to left lane. And long distance car traveller middle lane.
But I'm sure newbie drivers will zigzag their way and create havoc for transporters when this project gets completed. 😢

This will be a great help , but will create bottlenecks in thane already bridge in front of vivana is always jammed , on top of it metro 5 work will start in kon gaon which will be a nightmare

Ulta 2-3 saal baad isse bhi zyada traffic hoga or fir se lane banoge kya ?
Is road pe zyada truck ka traffic hai.
To jitne rupye me ye road widening ka kaam hoga,utne me do track wala railway line ban sakta hai or wo bhi sadak ke baju mehi.
Or jo extra 2-2 lane hai usme se sir 2 lane ki jaga rokega
Cargo station bana ne ka paisa jo dusri taraf ki 2 lane banane me jayega utne me ban jaega.
Road kafi sidha or kam curve wala hai. To railway track bichane me koi dikkat nahi hogi.
Road banao ge to har 4-5 saal baad choda karna padega.
Railway track banao ge to 20-30 saal baad improve karna padega
Dedicated freight corridors are being made for this very reason. Trucks will be used for last mile connectivity and not long distance transportation.
There won't be a need for trucks to travel long distances to South India eg Chennai.
When corridors get completed, there will be one from Ludhiana all the way to Chennai which will ease a lot of truck traffic.
I believe the hub will be the geographic centre of India, NAGPUR.

Progress is very very slow... We suffered for so many years... This road should have been thought n done 5 years back😢 politicians should understand that current generation is educated n they want progress in infrastructure.. otherwise they won't get elected again, from any political party
Seriously, such a small patch and I have been seeing this for two years. You will see work happening in small patches but looks like this is purposefully delayed waiting for Mumbai nagpur expressway to reach amane, and the entire things will be thrown open to public!!
The worst National highway in Maharashtra currently. You will see lot of diversions and all are in pathetic condition due to rain. At a place near Shahapur, one side road is closed for more than 2 years now and both side traffic is moving from one side which causing 4-5 kms of jam on weekends. We travelled to Igatpuri from Kalyan this weekend and it took us 7 hrs to cover around 100 kms. And they are still charging toll after having such a bad experience on this road.
