Exactly, they never really leaned how to do anything on their own. Hence, they fail constantly as a result. This is also why they move from victim to victim.
They are messed up persons for when they play stupid games they will win stupid prizes.
And everyone else is expected to pay the bill in the end.
My narc makes stupid decisions/does stupid things because his pride will not allow him to ask for advice or suggestions when he is unsure about how to do something.
I no longer care how many daft decisions my mother makes

Hi. Going no contact with a toxic or narcissistic person is often the best way to deal with them. As they rarely ever change and even if they do, it is not to any meaningful degree.
Wow, sounds just like my dad-a highly educated man but someone who makes reckless, sometimes dangerous, choices. Rules don’t apply to him.
Same with mine here. If he cants have it his wy nobody gets to have anything ever again, including himself and he seems fine with that no matter what it costs him in the long run.
The narcissist is famous for forgetting their wallet.
And whatever you do, do not lend them money.
And do not ever borrow money from these people.
It'll turn out that you're borrowing money that's really your own money that they borrowed.

And my narc friend claimed that i owed him $5000 despite already paid him $1400, balance $3600. Inclusive of the slandering as well. Been in nc since last year.
My Narc soon to be ex husband is communicating with my solicitor re a divorce settlement.
My solicitor has said about my Narc, He’s not on this Universe, and, I struggle to reconcile his calculations.

Hi. Sorry that you are having difficulty with your divorce. Unfortunately, many narcissists will make divorce as difficult for you as possible. Not only because they live in an alternate universe where they believe they are entitled to everything. But also because they often don’t want you to move on and live your life without them.
They are shallow, liars, extremely emotional and wear their pride on their sleeve.

In summary: The majority of people when they are children do make stupid choices. Narcissists however ofren fail to learn from their mistakes. The reasons are following: 1. Their understanding of ethics is mutable while they have an overdeveloped sense of personal iimportance and entitlement. 2. Their critical thinking skills get set aside whenever the stakes are high. 3. The narcissist does not on regular basis spend time in healthy self-reflection while they lack self-awarness. 4. They consider their own needs and wants first almost always when making their day to day decisions. 5. They tend to have anger management problems and declining as time goes by executive functioning. 6. Constant desire for stimulation in their environment. 7. They spend more time than the average person does in fantasies while then making poor day to day decisions for the future. 8. Although some narcissists are capable of cognitive empathy they are ill-equipped to be practising real empathy. 9. They constant seek attention for what they do and whom they are. 9. They often fail to step up and offer help to someone in grave danger whenever that might cost them something unless it will maybe be another opportunity to recieve public recognition. 10. They often take on far more than what they are capable of following through on while leaving a trail oherever they go. [Like for example after they have recieved a large insurance settlement when they then start purchasing several properties each of which already needed major renovations at the time when being a slum landlord who didn't already have existing in the union trades connections]
