I use to play in a Metalcore band 10 years ago called Back Against the Wolves I was heavily influenced by Parkway Drive and hearing this reminds me of them good old days 🥹

I think one of the biggest reasons why this specific album of them smacks so hard is due to their dynamic use of time. Depending on the riff they're playing they go slower or faster. Either unintentionally or on purpose this makes those breakdowns smack much harder than when they would've been played perfectly in time relative to the fast riffs and it also makes the entire music sound more lively to me. Check for example the breakdowns of unrest.

Unfortunately, with Sylosis, a lot of their solos are beyond me at this point, but I think I can manage a bleed from within record, and just do individual tracks from Sylosis until I’m good enough to learn their solos
