Beautiful sounds you've built here. The bass is sublime, so subtle and balanced. And I can't believe the Waldorf's flute sounds so lovely. It reminds me of Ricochet's second part. Thanks for posting. I'll definitely be watching your space.
Wow! Very nice!! Sounds a lot like Claus Schulze, and that's a big compliment! Great arrangement!! I'm so looking forward to receive my A4 next week, and this was an inspirational treat for my ears as I wait. Thank you!!
I love your ambient work - particularly the sequence driven tracks. This contrasts well and replicates the 70's flute sounds beautifully. Very nice, thanks.
+oleg - go ahead! it´s so rewarding to make own music and recordings, even if it´s not published - i hopefully soon start my own youtube channel with my own stuff........
Beautiful, man. Your channel has really inspired me to save up for the Analog Four. Also like that your videos arent just a 4/4 beat with a poor acid line. Thanks!
its very minimalism in the spirit of laurie anderson. the mellotron link has expire if you can post the flute blofeld patch/sample somewhere that would be cool as I have mr blo
Is the Elektron capable of having two or more arps going on at the same time? E.g. trig an INF chord/note on track 1 have ARP on set at RND - repeat on other tracks. I want a machine that can have a few arps going on at random that blend together to create a rhythmic done quality.
Yes, this is exactly what I use it for, though I don't really demonstrate that in this particular video. It has a vey interesting feature in its arpeggiator where it can transpose to one of three notes you can assign, and in different octave ranges, at random steps. It can do this per track, including the CV track. The following video is a demonstration of just that: ua-cam.com/video/WTICEjXmUwg/v-deo.html
@@arjenschatmusic Ahh...the mellotron - no wonder that sounds so sweet. One, more question, I’ve read that the knobs on the blofeld are glitchy and don’t work at times or skip values. Are you having any issues with that? I did read that the black one has a better build quality but was not sure about that. thx
@@GrootsieTheDog I haven't had any issues with glitchy knobs in particular, only one encoder that moves smoother than the other. I've been using the Blofeld Keyboard since it came out. It is an issue that is inherent to endless encoders though, I think I've been lucky so far, my Prophet '08 is useless because of it.
Arjen Schat Right, I assumed it was a High end point and shoot which typically don't come with great lenses, not an SLR. :) Leica makes beautiful gear. Those are some great apertures for DOF!
Arjen Schat This flute sound is sooo Berlin school like. Thank you. I am considering buying a Blofeld. Is this flute in any of the available Sound Sets? Great Job by the way. Just bought your digital Album. Those sequences are superb.
dankro279 This flute sound is not in any of the sound sets, you can upload it to the Blofeld. I've got the samples from leisureland's website (just Google for "mellotron samples". Also, thank you for your support! Glad you like the sequences.
MIDI usually goes through the old-school DIN cables but there's also MIDI over USB but that is mostly in conjunction with a computer, not synth to synth. In this video I used the even more ancient 'control voltage' to connect the Analog Four with the Slim Phatty.
Arjen Schat Thats what I thought. Ok, thanks. :) I didn't realize they use Control Voltage as a form of signal controller. Thats newer equipment so I find it surprising they would have gone that route, but if it works it works. Is the moogerfooger just an LFO filter?
Kevin Hannon CV allows for easy integration with modular synths so it's not that weird actually. However, it is strange they haven't incorporated MIDI sequencing with the A4. The Moogerfooger serves as an LFO for the Slim Phatty's filter, yes.
John 3:16King James Version (KJV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God bless
Typical clean but warm Ohrwert sound. My ears and brain say thank you.

big fan of living room sessions! limiting a track to a pre-selected set of instruments creates great focus and invention. cheers!

Beautiful. Great playing and sequencing.
Congratulations, Arjen, awesome music.

Great, great music, thanks!
Very fine piece of music. Love it.
Very nice!
Amazing music!
beautiful
Prachtig, je slaagt erin de unieke surrealistische sfeer van Tangerine Dream op te roepen, dankzij de fluit van de mellotron!
Wow, just amazing. One of the best live session's on the UA-cams!
I love Blofeld.
Nice work.
So good! Another winner.
Thanks! The first sequence is the Moog Slim Phatty.
Good to know that you can fit an elektron box on the blokey ;) Lovely sounds here!
Amazing calm atmosphere, really beautiful :-)
Awesome Arjen
You make some good sound man. I wish I wasn't lazy and made something on my own.

simply niiiice. Thank You!!!
Thanks! It's a string sound from the A4, just a saw wave ran through a high pass filter.
Thanks! Yeah, The CP-251 is just modulating the filter cutoff (triangular waveform>attenuator>filter).
Nice tune. keep up the great work.
Beautiful, man. Your channel has really inspired me to save up for the Analog Four. Also like that your videos arent just a 4/4 beat with a poor acid line. Thanks!
This is a really cool setup!
Thank you! The flute is sampled from an original Mellotron, you can download it here: leisureland.us/audio/MellotronSamples/MellotronSamples.htm
Excellent!
Yes, in this video the A4 is sequencing the Slim Phatty via CVs.
Very Nice indeed!
Great. Love it.
This was great!
Very nice, sounds like Tangerine Dream in the seventies 👍
Elektron should use your music to advertise this machine.
smooth wave's... like it!
A pleasure.
Thank you.
The bass line on this track reminds me of Depeche Mode "Waiting for the Night."
great sound super
Elektron should just add 4 external midi tracks to this incredible machine. machinedrum and monomachine have it and Octatrack.
Add a MIDI Thru box to the MK II's MIDI Thru port and you have 4 MIDI Outs.
For example: www.midisolutions.com/prodqth.htm
octatrack has 8 midi tracks and that's because it's meant to be more of a centerpiece. Buy more shit ;)
soooo goooood
Good stuff, like the bit where the bass comes in...
You are up there with Graham Getty and Brendan Pollard - sequencer gurus
great!
I like it pal
inspiring
Great reverberation.
Nice one!

Hah, just read in the comments that you uploaded the mellotron flute to the Waldorf. Probably the same stuff TG was using then :-)

Hi Gianna, the samples are hosted on a different website now: gumroad.com/l/DJkQ
good Sound...….
oh man... fantastic music!
can i use parts for my outdoor videos? i give full credit!
greetings from cologne, germany

Thank you very much, Arthur! Sure, no problem as long as you credit me. ;)
Very nice, I was expecting some dub techno, but got some great Berlin School instead :)
nice!
Great timbres all around, real longing in your playing. Where'd you get the flute partials on the blokeys?
Waiting for the beat to drop.
At 10:05 Still waiting
That sounds really good. Fan of TD?
Thank you! Yes, especially in the Froese/Franke/Baumann formation.
waiting for somebody to play with a sub phatty and an analog four..

This is legit Dungeon Synth :D
great track btw, what are you controlling with the cp-251 ? just the phatty ?
Околопланенное звучание местной модуляции, идти дальше в глубь вселенной в поиск нового метагалактического.
When that bass line comes in around 2:00, is that the slim phatty doing all of that?
Cheers man, can the Elektron control the Slim Phatty via CV's ?
Love the flute quality of that Biofeld part. Is that a preset or something you programed yourself?
It's sampled from an original Mellotron, it filled up almost the entire memory of the Blofeld, but has a wonderful characteristic sound.

Great. Is that 1st sequence the A4?
This is beautiful. Not only the sound but the visual composition. What do use use for a vid camera? Canon 5D?
Thanks, Kevin! I use a Panasonic GH-2 for my videos.
Arjen Schat That camera has a nice DOF effect on it.
Kevin Hannon That has more to do with the lens, I believe I used a Leica Summilux 25mm/F1.4 or a Panasonic 20mm/F1.7.

Kevin Hannon It's a system camera, it has similar qualities of a DSLR but it's almost half the size. Price-wise it's in the same range though.
Also, is your white keyboard controlling the A4? Thanks.
The white keyboard (Waldorf Blofeld) is not controlling the A4, I loaded a Mellotron flute sample into it to play the lead.

flute sounds comes from blofeld or is it analog four ?
Flute sound comes from the Blofeld, it's a Mellotron sample.
Arjen Schat very Tangerine Dream
+Arjen Schat It sounds incredible!
what is the CP-251 doing?
The CP-251 is controlling the filter cutoff of the Slim Phatty.
Arjen Schat ahh ofcourse, i couldnt quite pick the SP
