IBEW Local 569's Emerging Workforce: Imperial Valley

In September 2024, IBEW Local Union 569 proudly announced its new Renewable Energy and Manufacturing Division in Imperial Valley. This initiative supports workforce development for the rapidly growing renewable energy and advanced manufacturing sectors, including battery production and clean transportation.
As part of this effort, IBEW 569 is expanding its industry-leading apprenticeship training programs, preparing the next generation of union electricians and power professionals for clean economy jobs. Our apprentices receive cutting-edge certifications, such as Energy Storage & Microgrid Training & Training Certification (ESAMTAC), ensuring they are equipped to lead the energy transition.
For decades, IBEW 569 has been a key partner in the Imperial Valley community, creating pathways to the middle-class, establishing the region as a leader in sustainable technologies and renewable energy - like lithium, which is critical for electric vehicles and battery storage systems.
