Meditation: Loving Everyone Equally

- In this meditation we contemplate that, just as a wave is one with the ocean from which it surfaces, we are one with the universe from which we emerge. Therefore, we need only investigate our self to know what the universe essentially is. We consider the possibility that everything we know of the world, such as sights, sounds, textures, tastes and smells, is a temporary appearance, which accounts for the apparent separation between our self and the world. With this understanding, we feel that the world and its objects share the same being that we know and love as our self. When we recognise only appearances, we like some and dislike others. If we see through the appearances to reality itself, we love all equally.

Teachers are like fingers pointing at the moon, when you focus on the fingers, you miss the moon. Although these meditations are powerful, do not use the teachings as distractions from you’re own experience. Use the tool to look inward. No one can do it for you. This advice has helped me a lot :)

Welcome to the game of life. The objective is to know thyself. Obstacles include: forgetfulness, attachments and distractions. Players handicap will be proportional to each persons conditioning, in turn manifesting itself as the adversary: thine king “I Am”. 🌻
@@ReverendDr.Thomas I'm sure it's a combination of my own failure to grasp the points you have made and my conditioned scepticism, but if everything is scripted what is the point of anything? Does not such a deterministic explanation of life just give a go to excuse for every evil doer?
I had the same problem with Rupert's premise that we are all the same. Am I the same as the Son of Sam or Jack the Ripper? Elvis? Moreover, if we can only experience consciousness through our five senses and therefore cannot know its true nature (which makes perfect sense), how do we know there are not malevolent beings, in human physical form and able to tap in to tap in to everything we can but not really human, out there in our daily lives tricking us to "love" them?

@@imnotallergic awareness is the result of consciousness. Our awareness is in this linear 4D of space and time. If we are multidimensional but limited by our ego/mind which restricts our consciousness, then we can never empirically unravel the mystery of consciousness

A different kind of love my friend. Think of the love you feel for a mother or a child, and now compare that to the love you feel for a spouse or a mate. That's how I,think of it anyways.

My father and mother are characters from the hell, devils itself, I do not love them. And I won't, this is also why I am leaving spirituality. For my own well being I can only forget them.
If you do not practice forgiveness you will suffer until your end. Forgiveness is the one true key to one's liberation. Forgive them, for in TRUTH, they know/knew NOT what they do. We are all one, dear heart, by not forgiving the other self, one does not, cannot forgive themselves. You may want to turn away from God but God will never, can never turn away from you.
