I wish you were closer by. I've been studying dogs ever since I got my first animal encyclopedia from the library at 8 years old. I started freelance training when I was fifteen and I continue to do so at 18. I have been searching so hard to work for or "shadow" some kind of training mentor so I can learn from more experienced trainers eye-to-eye. This is really important to me as I plan to make a career out of this and I would also like to train my own Psychiatric Service Dog as I have a track record of shutting down in public due to PTSD. The German Shepherd I have at home is my best friend and a wonderful companion but he's nearly 6 and so set in his ways that I think training him to do service work would just stress him out.
