So if Delina and aventus were the “holy grail” at one time what has taken their place as the king/queen of niche fragrance currently? I feel they have to be dethroned before being considered over hyped.
Just because I don't like a scent that other people like or love, I wouldn't call it overrated. I love Delina, BR540 and Black Opium and don't really care if people think these are overrated or overhyped.
There's a difference between overrated and overexposed. Overrated- Not as good as you think and the brand is skating by on it's reputation. Overexposed-You experience it so often you just take it for granted.
I agree. Masterpieces like BR540 and Delina are over hyped, but deserve their outstanding raves. I still am the only one in my circle that wears Delina, but I smell Baccarrat Rouge dupes quite often.
Though I really, really like Delina, as does my partner, I can’t say that I personally find whole package of PDM or the juice to be of really supreme quality. Though that might be a bit controversial to say, I am quite picky and I still really enjoy it and have some beautiful memories with the times I have worn Delina. These days Delina is everywhere and for me, I like to wear unique fragrances that are exclusive to me and that those around me associate with me alone. Every time I walk through Dubai Mall I pass at least 4 people that smell like Delina… and don’t get me started on Baccarat Rouge 540 😅

Love was and is a masterpiece in my humble opinion. It’s the one that started the hype for this DNA but honestly I don’t think Sintra/ Oriana came close to Love. Both of them have a very sharp neroli opening that kinda puts me off, whereas Love is very rounded, very well blended and you don’t notice that sharpness any where in the fragrance! It’s very cocooning and warm, absolutely amazing and Love Extreme is even better 😅
I agree, I tried Oriana because it has the same notes, but its too powdery to me. Love is so warm and feminine, my only problem is that it doesn't last very long.
Aw, I love La Vie Est Belle. I find that if I spray a mist cloud and then walk into it, it's not too strong, just very pretty. It is definitely a compliment-getter if used in moderation and you don't choke someone out. I don't understand all of the flankers, either, except maybe the Intensement (although the original is already very intense haha). I like the Soleil Cristal scent, too, but I REALLY love the bottle 🤭. Bottles are probably more important to me than they should be.
RIGHT? I do the exact same thing with la vie est belle. Cause my bottle was almost empty but I got sick of it and didn’t want to wear it anymore. But now I spray a generous mist cloud and walk into it and IT IS MAGICAL and I receive so many compliments! Not as sickly syrupy sweet
I have around 80 bottles, and I have Aventus, Sauvage, and BR540 in my top 5 lol. Delina is by far my number one favorite woman's fragrance. For me I see these fragrances in the community mentioned a lot, but I rarely see people in real life wearing colognes outside a bottle or two they picked up at the local Macy's. Wear what you enjoy!! :)
B540 is just over worn as much as CK 1 (aging myself) that use to make me SICK . Delina I don’t find people wear it out here but B540 is everywhere soccer pitch to Whole Foods everywhere
I agree with both statements…I layer with 540 and Delina now. CK1 I purchased along with Dior Poison last year, for sentimental reasons “70’s college, wild days”
I absolutely agree with Aventus. Though I do absolutely adore the fragrance and it smells magnificent, I see absolutely no outstanding quality of the fragrance that makes it worth the $569 that you would pay for a 100 ml on fragrance net right now. I believe you can get fragrances that are just as good for a fraction of the price. I see Aventus more as a status statement than anything else
8.4 oz for 695$ at Bloomingdales. That should last a long time haha. I have clothes from months ago that still smell like creed the quality of the juice is next level. Definitely can get some good colognes for cheaper which are some of my favorites, But creed really is the Ferrari of the colognes

La Vie Belle smells like nothingness to me. Like when you have sniffed too many perfumes at a perfume shop and cant differentiate between al the smells and al you smell is the same thing.
I love br540 along with many others from the line patin, apom,grand soir etc . I can go high and low as long as the quality is there. However, lol, with that said, dossier’s version of br540 (ambery saffron) is a slightly better version. Less burnt caramel more saffron and longevity. I recommend it for anyone who can’t afford br540 but loves it. And I recommend it to anyone who feels br540 doesn’t stay on long enough which some say. Don’t always buy into the hype of the original. We’re brainwashed sometimes to feel like we belong if we have the original. Sometimes inspirations can be better…
I also love Ambery Saffron and went through 2 bottles before I finally bought the original. I'll continue to buy the Dossier so I can bathe in it and wear it more often.

I never ,ever liked La vie est belle. I cant understand what other people smell . Although i buy it as a present to my mother because she likes it so much. I still wonder what made it so popular.
I only got around to testing delina a few weeks ago cause I'm not big on rose scents. And it was disappointing to me for how populair it is 😂. Expected it to be mind-blowing. I do however love Sintra but never smelled ldbs.
Same here. I am not into the rose accord thats why it was not surprise for me but i had to try because it is everyone's favourite. It is not a winner for me.

Get Meliora instead of Delina, it’s the best PDM for woman in my opinion, my gf owns delina and oriana too and they’re good, but meliora blows me away every time
Love is amazing! I think the problem is the hype, not the fragrance. I’ve got mine over 6 years ago and this perfume got me into niche fragrances. I don’t like sweet fragrances, but this one is amazing. I am always confused when people say it smells sickly sweet and like syrup or whatever. The one I have, and mind you it’s the old formulation, is so well blended, there is nothing clashing, screeching and sickening about it. I’ve tried most of perfumes from Kilian, but Love is still a masterpiece for me. We all have different opinions and preferences, I think if it wouldn’t have been for the hype, people would’ve appreciated more this scent. They would’ve discovered the scent on their own. There wouldn’t be any pressure to love this scent, no expectations. And for those like me who immediately loved it, it would have been this amazing hidden gem of a fragrance.

Right. I have never heard of them since I started watching fragrance videos. And some of these popular one I went in store to smell them and I’m like meh. But I do like delina, it is very very very long lasting which is one of the top things I look for when buying a fragrance (especially for being sooo expensive).
Love Don’t Be Shy was a MASTERPIECE before it was popular and that’s when Rihanna actually wore it. Now it’s been reformulated twice since then and it’s wack. And now people are judging it based on the current formulation.

Then I found out you review perfumes and I love perfumes, I like very clean ones though, that just smell like one flower, like Jasmin Kusamono by Armani Prive, and then I like to maybe mix them so there are a few scents together. I was wondering, do you know of a smoky, earthy and powdery perfume with a clean scent that could be good to mix with others? Something that smells as deep dark and powerful as possible, but subtle at the same time if that makes sense. I prefer clean perfumes because I am hyper sensitive and I have a very heightened sense of smell, and I find most perfumes to be just too much of everything

I must be the only guy on earth that thinks BR540 is actually kind of off putting. It's not horrible in the sense that I get sick from it or anything, but there is a sharpness to it that drives me crazy (not in the good way) haha.
Beautiful dress. I really like a girl that likes to rock a rich blue. I also have actually never purchased Sauvage. It's okay, but never bought it to this day. I actually prefer Elixir, which I think is quite nice and is firm in its power and identity. A little bit goes a long way with that one. It's a great fragrance when it is discovered in the air.

I discovered Baccarat Rouge 540 and Delina AGES ago because of you!!!! And I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have so many wonderful memories now tied up in the two, that I will always have them in my collection and will always want to wear them. They are gorgeous! Hyped up, yes, I wish people would shut up about them so that I can still be the only woman I know wearing them! You are correct.... these are all victims of their own success.
Black Opium is one of those ones that really grabbed me when I first tried it. I've been craving it but not wanting to spend the money. No dupe I've bought has compared. I have another on the way from the house of Alhambra. I guess it's okay with me that a lot of people don't like it. I tend to wear fragrances primarily for me anyway.
I am not a fan of Delina it’s just too tart for me and I dnt like Dama Bianca either because of it being so tart…I’ve had my fair share of days of Lancôme la vie est belle I dnt wear it anymore but I still enjoy the scent
I bought my wife La Vie Est Belle and Delina too but the one she prefers because she gets the most compliments is one you used to recommend. La Nuit Tressor. She gets more compliments with it than any of the niche or designer ones she has.
The top 3 I still have never tried them, I live where you just don't have the stores that have those fragrance. I think becasue I have heard them talked about so highly that if I ever get to smell them, I am sure to be let down becasue the hype is just not sustainable to the built expectations
Gotta be honest I like your videos but not this one. I think some of the fragrances your mentioning as over rated, are now over exposed. A lot of them are legendary. I wear fragrances because of the way I feel wearing it, I care little about what people think especially Instagram people.
Baccarat rouge 540 extrait for me I do own both but I prefer extrait. I can see how it would dilute over time if not used but then again I’m not sure unless if it’s in a bad temperature

actually don't really care much what others think of my fragrance so long as I love smelling it and wearing it. And if it's less popular, even better for me.
Unpopular opinion but my most overrated cologne and I do actually own it is Dolce & Gabbana "The One". The hype really got me to buy it. I kept trying it out in the stores but always found something else instead. Then I just went for it one day and now I rarely wear it. Sad but it alone just gives me good but ehh vibes. Maybe I just need to start layering it with other scents just to use it at this point.
I feel like some of these fragrances seem overrated because of their price tags. I feel like if, let’s say, BR540 has a designer price, then I would say yes it is worth the hype.

I’m just getting into wearing (not often) Delina. I tried both flankers and dupes, but the OG is for me. I never smell it on anyone else. I don’t like many of the others you mentioned, but I do have La Vie est Belle. Oddly enough, I don’t wear it often because it gives me a headache lol.
For some reason I've never been able to get on the Aventus train. It does have a nice opening but it's always smelled like an outdated 90's cologne with an old man twist after that.
I’ve had multiple people- friends and family - smell Delina and BR540 and they all hated them. Both my mom and sister think that delina and gris charnel smell like mens deodorant lol 😂

Didn’t like Oriana as well. Try spraying love on your clothes and your hair. It’ll last longer for sure and/or try Love extreme , it stays longer

Agree Royal Oud is by far my favorite Creed and weirdly enough I also think my BR540 lost some juice from evaporation 🤔

I live in Chile and I have never smell nor Delina nor BR450 on anyone. If they are not in the fragance world they haven’t even heard of them

Just like you I don’t really like La vie est belle but I’ve smelled the Soleil Cristal version and really like it. I consider buying it as it is quit good comparing to the other ones from this line I think

Nothing is more overrated crap than Aventus
In Michigan (U.S.) hardly anyone wears fragrance. I hardly have smelled anyone wearing it in my 58 years of living. Wish I did.
I must be the only guy on earth that thinks BR540 is actually kind of off putting. It's not horrible in the sense that I get sick from it or anything, but there is a sharpness to it that drives me crazy (not in the good way) haha.
I gave my bottle of Black Opium Intense to my niece, because I’ve never liked the scent. I guess I don’t like coffee notes in my fragrances.

Beautiful dress. I really like a girl that likes to rock a rich blue. I also have actually never purchased Sauvage. It's okay, but never bought it to this day. I actually prefer Elixir, which I think is quite nice and is firm in its power and identity. A little bit goes a long way with that one. It's a great fragrance when it is discovered in the air.

I discovered Baccarat Rouge 540 and Delina AGES ago because of you!!!! And I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have so many wonderful memories now tied up in the two, that I will always have them in my collection and will always want to wear them. They are gorgeous! Hyped up, yes, I wish people would shut up about them so that I can still be the only woman I know wearing them! You are correct.... these are all victims of their own success.

Black Opium is one of those ones that really grabbed me when I first tried it. I've been craving it but not wanting to spend the money. No dupe I've bought has compared. I have another on the way from the house of Alhambra. I guess it's okay with me that a lot of people don't like it. I tend to wear fragrances primarily for me anyway.
I am not a fan of Delina it’s just too tart for me and I dnt like Dama Bianca either because of it being so tart…I’ve had my fair share of days of Lancôme la vie est belle I dnt wear it anymore but I still enjoy the scent

I bought my wife La Vie Est Belle and Delina too but the one she prefers because she gets the most compliments is one you used to recommend. La Nuit Tressor. She gets more compliments with it than any of the niche or designer ones she has.
I'm relatively new to the perfume game and 540 was what got me obsessed - so it will always have a special place in my heart!

The top 3 I still have never tried them, I live where you just don't have the stores that have those fragrance. I think becasue I have heard them talked about so highly that if I ever get to smell them, I am sure to be let down becasue the hype is just not sustainable to the built expectations

Gotta be honest I like your videos but not this one. I think some of the fragrances your mentioning as over rated, are now over exposed. A lot of them are legendary.

Baccarat rouge 540 extrait for me I do own both but I prefer extrait. I can see how it would dilute over time if not used but then again I’m not sure unless if it’s in a bad temperature

actually don't really care much what others think of my fragrance so long as I love smelling it and wearing it. And if it's less popular, even better for me.

Unpopular opinion but my most overrated cologne and I do actually own it is Dolce & Gabbana "The One". The hype really got me to buy it. I kept trying it out in the stores but always found something else instead. Then I just went for it one day and now I rarely wear it. Sad but it alone just gives me good but ehh vibes. Maybe I just need to start layering it with other scents just to use it at this point.
I feel like some of these fragrances seem overrated because of their price tags. I feel like if, let’s say, BR540 has a designer price, then I would say yes it is worth the hype.

Ha. That's what we said about Green Irish Tweed, then they released Millesime Imperial then we thought they won't do better then they released Aventus. Just you wait Demi and see what else Creed comes up with. That said they are now owned by private equity firm so lets see what happens.

I’m just getting into wearing (not often) Delina. I tried both flankers and dupes, but the OG is for me. I never smell it on anyone else. I don’t like many of the others you mentioned, but I do have La Vie est Belle. Oddly enough, I don’t wear it often because it gives me a headache lol.
For some reason I've never been able to get on the Aventus train. It does have a nice opening but it's always smelled like an outdated 90's cologne with an old man twist after that.

I’ve had multiple people- friends and family - smell Delina and BR540 and they all hated them. Both my mom and sister think that delina and gris charnel smell like mens deodorant lol 😂
I love that flanker of La vie et belle that you mentioned, it's coconutty . Can't stand delina but I like atomic rose which somewhat a bit similar to my nose minus annoying notes;
