Just thought you should know that Kenway (the orange tabby in my photo) is mesmerized by your bookshelf tour. He watched the entire time, and he doesn't normally watch the screen. 😻
omg that is so precious
having your dissertation on your non-fiction shelf is such a flex!!! 📚📚📚📚📚
I didn't know where else to put it ahahaha
🙆🏻♀️📚
I've never seen so many stunning editions in one video 😭 "How to see fairies" is a heart stealer🧚♀️💟🧚♂️
The amount of foiling on these shelves is slightly ridiculous but we love it ahaha
I love watching bookshelf tours. It's fascinating to see what books people collect and their different niche interests.
40 minutes of your bookshelf tour = pure joy for me. I was gasping at some of those stunning Fairy Loot editions. Amazing 📚
Glad you enjoyed it! 🤎
Having 1k books means you officially have a small library! Goals 😍✨️ love yohr edition of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, that was my favourite book last year 📚 i arrange mine by genre and subgenre
omg I love that ahaha. Isn't this cover just stunning? I love the colours of it!
Ur collection is an absolute dream I'm so jealous this really is what my dream bookcase of the future would look like woahh
while watching this i felt like i was a friend visiting ur house the first time and giving a bookshelf tour and you just seem so happy to share what makes you and what also happens to make me really happy! idk just something about women gushing on about their interests/ finding other women with the same passion makes me really happy 💗💗 ur vibe and interests are so gorgeous and up my alley im so glad i found ur account
Loved the tour 📚
📚 so many beautiful books!
Great 📚
📚📚 Bookshelf Tours are my favorite ! Thank you for sharing 😊
📚
Loved this . I'm same I love genres
So happy you mentioned Weight! I also loved this little myth of Atlas retelling! ❤️
Lovely collection 📚😊 so need to get my witchy shelf organised !
I love your witchy and folklore collection
📚 I love your collection! 📚
Thank you!! 😊
Wonderful collection 📚
Thank you so much 😀
I've never found a booktuber who has the exact same taste in books as me, can't believe I only just found you 📚 subscribed🖤
Yay, thank you! Welcome to our cosy corner 🥰
Love Arthur Rackhams illustrations, and The How to See Fairies book is so beautiful!
You have such a beautiful collection. 😍
Thank you!! 😊
Obsessed with your aesthetic 😍🫶📚
Thank you! 🤎
That illustrated fairy book is so beautiful!
Isn't it just?? obsessed
I’m still so in love with those diviners covers
They are so iconic honestly
📚
Now I need to count my books
I love how you angle the camera 😍
Honestly I'm just impressive you've managed to fit all of these! ❤
You and me both 😂
📚currently my books are organized by genre but I'm now well past capacity so it's moving towards wherever they fit 😂
Paperbacks are my favorite,it's easy to handle.
Ugh, I'm jealous ❤ I only have two bookshelves, one actual bookshelf, where I keep my unread books, and of those big old cabinets with glass doors, where I keep my read books. I might have to change things up soon though, as the cabinet is getting full (not that the shelves aren't...). The vast majority of books I only own digitally, as much as I love having physical books, I have too many hobbies to just cram my limited space with books, plus it's much more accessible.
That's very fair! Reading has always been my main hobby so it's always been a game of Tetris for me even when younger ahaha. All the other hobbies I have to try and cram into drawers with varying levels of success ahaha
Fair! For me it's currently my yarn stash that's getting a bit out of hand. Still doesn't take up as much space as my books though. But the other hobbies combined definitely do take up more space than my books.
I feel you with trying to fit all the books into a small space! But you always find the space because BOOKS!!!
The floor is just one giant shelf right…?
@@AFrolicThroughFiction it's like when cats go in weird places, if it fits it sits 😂
📚 i loved seeing all your books and how you've organised them! you gave me some ideas on how to fit more books in my current flat 😂i've got everything organised by genre for now, but one day i'd love to have everything organised by colour, maybe when i move into a bigger flat and have more shelf space :D
I will always find a way to fit as many books in as possible ahaha
The priory of the orange tree is on my tbr, it’s nice you said that she is your favorite author! I haven’t really heard that book or author get much hype so I would love to hear why she is your favorite 😊 I love your collection and enjoyed the video
Love all the shelves! 📚 I also organize my books by genre + a few ‘collections’ of my favorite subcategories. I keep my unread books on their own bookcase but they are also mostly organized the same way!
I would love to have a separate TBR shelf but I just can't make it work currently!
We like the same everything when it comes to books. I am soon getting that folio fairy one.
It's so worth it! 🤎
I have The same problem of not reaching my top books so I bought The little step stool Bekvam from ikea, and I love it!
I'm 4'11 and i have the same extended shelves haha. Imagine my struggles 😂
Oh my god 😂
You have such beautiful books and lovely bookshelves🥰 I haven’t counted, but I’m guessing I have close to 1000 books also, and continuously work towards more📚📚📚📚📚
They multiply so easily...
📚So mine are alphabetical by author, I do have my self help on a different shelf, but otherwise they are all together. My hubby worked at a library during college, so I am fortunate he shelves all my books LOL! I love some of you editions so much! Stunning!!!!
Agh I wish I could do alphabetical without the genres bothering me ahaha. I'd need a whole library room to have enough of each for that ahaha
💖
I have mine organised by paperback genre in alphabetical order and hardback genre in alphabetical order. I wanted to be a librarian when I was younger so having them in some sort of methodical order in separate genred sections really helps me find what I want when I want it and I live up to my childhood dream. I love this 🥰
And I have closer to 2000 books so need more shelves as I still have some books packed away 😅
I adore The Library at Mount Char
omg I love that description/context ahahaha, I need to read it even more now
I love how you have everything set up! If you ever want any US edition books I can find them for you and send them 😉 I would love some UK edition books. Sending hugs from Virginia
Loved this! :D My physical collection is pretty small so its very roughly organised. I have a tbr shelf, some art book shelves, a special edition shelf, and I've put all my graphic novels together, then the rest is just..mish mash xD
I want a TBR shelf but would defo be too called out
@@AFrolicThroughFiction If I would add all my ebooks to that shelf the story would be very different xD
25:34 I love The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly (I love the other two books in the trilogy also), which features the Jack the Ripper murders. I have such a love affair with those books! I'm about to finish the last book. 💜 It is filled with luscious characters and fascinating plot and amazing pacing!
may i ask where you have that lovely illustration of athena from? lovely collection! 💖
📚 I have random different shelves all over my house. Hoping to buy 3 or maybe even 4 billy bookcases from IKEA at the end of the month to get most of my books into one room. I organize by nonfiction vs fiction, then by topic/genre. Then it’s just by authors last name. My OCD does not let me do it any other way. 😅
📚
I really enjoyed this! I picked up Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Fairies because of you and I really loved it ❤ I’m so sad that I don’t own the Fairyloot edition though 😢
I'm so glad to hear you loved it! I was so pleasantly surprised 🤎
📚📚
📘
You may need a sturdy ladder that can reach the top. I hope it's an auto sturdy staircase that moves on its own ,but be safe about it👌 ok
📚💖📚💞📚💖
So glad I am not the only one that has 1000 books plus. If I showed you my shelves you wouldn’t think it but I have two and three rows to each shelf/cube. I would love custom shelves so so much.
Do you have an iconic ladder to reach the shelves you need to? I dream of these height shelves where I need a ladder
Ahaha sadly no iconic ladder, just a lil stepladder for now. The floors here aren't even enough for a ladder fixture but hopefully in the future!
📚📚📚📚📚
I go by genre and then alphabetical
That sounds so satisfying!
I don't know if it's helpful but I saw a shelf tour recently where the lady had bought extra shelves for her billy cases. She had all books of the same height on a shelf so that she could lower the shelf above as low as possible - if that makes sense. Hardbacks and books of non standard size were stored on a narrow billy bookcase.
Lovely tour - thank you.
I've seen people do that but I'm warning of overloading them as I can't attach them to the walls and have wonky floors ahaha. It's a fab idea though!
@@AFrolicThroughFiction I hadn't thought about that!
Thank you so much for sharing your collection 📚 have you read The Little People by Alison Littlewood? I'm sure you would love it!
I haven't! I'll go and check it out 🤎
📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚
🤎🤎🤎
Omg you work for Fairyloot?? How cool!!! I want to join so much but it’s a waiting list I’m in the USA
I do indeed! Hopefully it shouldn't be too much longer 🤎
@@AFrolicThroughFiction that’s awesome!!
@@AFrolicThroughFiction can you recommend any books for teens like witchy books written in verse style? My daughter loves reading verse style books and she love’s Halloween and witchy type books.
📚 my shelves are interesting… I have favorites which are grouped by genre and author. My read books are in chronological order, but the series are together based on when I read the first one. My unread books are grouped by genre. It’s a mess but it’s what works for now.
Ooooh chronological order sounds super interesting! I love that!
Just finished Blood Mercy on ebook, and I adored it and looking for the paperback versions. Where did you get yours from? X
I believe they're on Amazon!
@@AFrolicThroughFiction thank you. I’ll check them out x
Do you have some historical fiction, as Storm of Steel by Ernst Junger ? Do you have read The Lair of the White Worm by Bram Stoker or the collection of short stories of ghosts called Can Such Things Be? by Ambrose Bierce?
Try to know that future Neighborhood how to help each othets
Like your efforts .
You have Haunting Adeline!!😱 Amazing book, but check trigger warnings first, it's really dark romance
I’m okay being here for hours if you wanted to go through each book individually 😳
I've done it once before and honestly I'm not in a hurry to do it again ahahaha
Sadly I could never organize by author because my books are a mix of UK and US editions, so the sizes vary way too much, and it would bug me to no end. Well there is one exception, and that is my rainbow shelf of LGBTQIA standalone books since there's no way to get around the size and format differences when organizing by rainbow, but I find it worth it. Other than those specific books everything else is organized by height and what I find aesthetically pleasing.
the size differences are so frustrating sometimes!
my favorite strange booktube thing to learn is everyone's heights because I literally have a mind blown moment every time 😅😅😅😅
omg aha did you think I was shorter/taller?
@@AFrolicThroughFiction taller lol, I was thinking like 5’7 for some reason 😂
I am really interested in how big your flat is? Because you say it is small but how small is it?
I have no idea how to give a reference considering I don’t know the dimensions 😂
Usually you can read it in your rental contract but it is ok 😂
Go to half price books in your local area.
We don't have that in the UK sadly!
@@AFrolicThroughFiction oh that's ok
Late to the party, but I'm wondering why you're billy shelves aren't as "deep" as the ones showcased in my local IKEA. Your books are a lot closer to the edge(which is great) than the exhibition at IKEA.
They are! I just have them pulled forward so there’s a gap behind them - it’s better for ventilation and I prefer how it looks ☺️
Just wanted to mention, but I don't think you are going to like Haunting Adeline (I think I saw it on your shelves). It has a trope in it that is the same thing you had a problem with in Gothikana. It's considered a dark romance and it lives up to its name.
Intriguing 👀 to be fair I don’t have an issue with any tropes in particular and love a dark romance if it’s done well - gothikana wasn’t 😂
@@AFrolicThroughFiction It's dubious consent if you need to know.
Ahh I see
me looking at my 72 books in shame
I wish it was easier to get fancy books.. 😕
Where is the Silmarillion book I bought you? 😢
In my living room with my decorative Tolkien books! I just forgot to include that part of the living room in my video as it’s near my TV, but I promise I still have it aha 🤎
@A Frolic Through Fiction ah okay, that's fair 😅 loved the bookshelf tour! 👍
I’m glad! 🫶🏻
So jealous 😮 I had to down size from house to flat so had to let go of lots of books 📚 still got a few hundred 😅 removal guys said if you move again don’t ring us unless you get a kindle 🤣 I love any greek mythology and have now got many more thanks to you love the look of a few more 😜😂
