Great question Cleo. Answer: yes AND no! It depends what is UNDER the linoleum. Raised wood or a slight cushion is good, if linoleum is over concrete, very bad. All dancers need a little cushion or "give" underneath them for the health of joints/bones and to keep stamina up. The linoleum might be safe for short sessions of light footwork and you won't slip on it so that is good. But for prolonged, regular practice it may do damage to your body if there is a very hard surface underneath. Hope that helps! :)
@@ArleenHurtado What surface would you recommend practicing on? I'd love learning flamenco and tap but there are no classes anywhere near me, so I'm trying with UA-cam and even the basics are proving unexpectedly difficult😅
@@samevans1289 Hi! I recommend a wood surface if possible. A wood board would do as well, just put it on a non slippery surface like carpet, yoga mat, or rug so it doesn't move or slip. Practice moving your feet to the beat and even before that just listening to the music and clapping or counting in time helps a lot with the rhythm. I also have an online flamenco school flamencodanceonline.com. I teach many classes to get you started. Hope this helps! Best to you.
I remember these from class at OCC! I'm going to dig my shoes out and start practicing! Thank you so much for doing this!!!

Yes, all you have to do is slow it down and focus on one pattern at a time. Take your time with each, perhaps focus on only one pattern per week!
Super
