I find it ironic how MahoHako is essentially in the same situation as DDD... And i don't know what's worse but you're right. Cus I swear if DDD was supposed to be revealed as a different type of World BUT STILL in the Nasuverse... Cus it is known - you cant trust the Mushroom Joker. IT KILLS ME TOO MAN. Its not even the meme like Girls Work, its genuine torture and i crave it even more as the time passes. There is also Fate/Requem and traveling lost prince Meteo. OKSG(AYSG) moved to a Type-Moon manager assistant, scriptwriter assistant, you name it, over the years but im not sure why they didnt continue the manga and Drama CD. Hope they are doing fine tho. Nasu's reason is possibly can be the saying that he "isn't the same gloomy Nasu anymore" and partly move on from projects like DDD until its that time again or something, well adding a LOT of work on different projects to that bin. But as he is a fast writer who knows honestly. We can only hope that time might come at the point when we hopefully starting to get TsukiRe OSotRG, Mahoyo 2 and other imaginable franchise projects that was teased before. Hopefully Type-Moon will finish what they started.
Unfortunately Type moons older work isn’t officially translated. I want to read The Garden of Sinners and DDD, but the translations are either choppy or incomplete.
Surprised you left out ""Melty Blood Back Alley Alliance Nightmare". It crosses-over the worlds of Tsukihime, Fate/EXTRA, and Fate/Grand Order, in a way that "could" (based on where the characters are on their respective timelines) actually be possible. Also, putting aside the antics of the Neco(s), it is fairly serious. And can be found on many manga sites.
The unfortunate part of creative works is that not every project ends up working out, and TYPE-MOON has a nasty habit of announcing projects so early into development that they have to silently brush it under the rug in the event that they get shelved indefinitely and hope everybody forgets them. Also unfortunate is that the TYPE-MOON fanbase is so thirsty for content that they never forget any project that gets announced.
I took you up on CANAAN…. And I DEEPLY regret it… Thanks. That was such a waste of time, one of the worst animes. Not one single likable character, boring and dumb story, and… weirdly deplorable moments. Tsukihime exists before this one.
The Tsuki no Sango manga has been probably the only manga that has managed to make me cry, that shit is so GOOD a movie can be easily done and will become a mega masterpiece Edit: Meteo is easily the laziest TM writer, Requiem came out more or less at the same time as Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II, which is currently on it's 7th volume, Requiem is still in it's second one, and even strange Fake which was silent for sometime has released like 4 more volumes in that time since Requiem came out, plus girl's work never ever happening, i swear to god if i ever go to japan i will spend my time finding Meteo and beating the plots out of him if necesary because i honestly think they will never be published otherwise
Eri Takenashi is the author behind Kannagi. They did a couple of art/doujinishi for Shirou and the others. Fate/Stay Night - Hinata no Yume was the one adapted to Carnival Phantasm where Shirou was put to sleep by Illya while everyone wanted to lay by him.
That reminded me that i should really continue or also reread all crossover works like All Around TM, Chibichuki, School Life and most importantly MahoHako. Great vid, as always, man.
I would say that certain FGO mangas can use some love. Like Oshiete FGO or From Lostbelt. Really cool manga. Also the creator of From Lostbelt (Nakatani) have short mangas of Mahoyo. Check those out too!
Great video as always, hopefully they continue the revival they started with Tsukihime and bring some of these back soon while the Tsukihime/Mahoyo hype still has people interested in non-Fate things. After Tsukihime, Melty Blood, and Mahoyo all returned in such quick succession and gave me hope for the return of classic Type-Moon, I might die inside if they just sink back into another age of Fate only.
Girl’s Work to me, at this point, is like a inner joke only dedicated TM fans would understand. The fact that it’s announced with a synopsis, character design, and concept art, but then was never mentioned once by anyone involved to this day is just too hilarious to me 😂
I knew about notes and girls work. But nothing else (partly because no one else on UA-cam really talks about the wider type moon works.) So this video was very interesting.
I'm not sure if it counts as part of the Nasuverse or not, but it was actually written by him so I'll bring it up anyway: Canaan. It does get confusing at times, but it is still within my top ten even years later.
Now idea what Meteo's even been up to these days. We all know about Requiem, but even then it's been awhile since he's written anything substantial for FGO. Obviously it's just guesswork because besides when Nasu writes them himself they don't announce what writer does each story chapter, but of the main story chapters of the past few years, NONE have had his signature elements, unlike Sakurai, Higashide, and Minase.
From what I understand, the common consensus is that, besides Nasu doing LB6 and LB7 himself, Sakurai did Heian-kyo and Tunguska, Higashide did Traum, and Minase did Paper Moon.
In my personal opinion its really boring And considering the fact it was basically stalled one volume after launch it must've not sold very well either
Hello there, nice to see a decent Nasuverse guy around. If I may present a idea how would this guy fair in the Type Moon verse? Would Sung Jin Woo from Solo Leveling at his highest power be able to hold his own with Otto Adam and the Ultimate Ones?
Thanks a lot for the video, Manpig. it is almost scary how many of these works I have read. In terms of School live this reminded me that there are more volumes out there that I have not read yet and that I will need to look harder for the Tsuki no Sango manga. Fate/Labyrinth is still missing on things I have read. Not sure If I will ever find the time for the OG Koha Ace. Heck it has almost become a full time job to keep up with the new Nasuverse stuff with the backlog of old works that exists.
I honestly hope that nasu is actually a vampire so that he can keep writing stories till i die since god dayum the guy(?) is already fifty and i dont know how much longer hes gonna last 😭

Think again… you’ll get this lesson TWICE- nay, THRICE -nay… actually its broken down couple more times on top of that lol

Well I'd check again. In the book Character Material, on Kaie's page, they state despite Kaie having similarities to characters and ideas from the Nasuverse, they are not connected. Like how Demons are a thing in franchises like Doom and Devil May Cry, it's just a fictional species in its unique world.
The whole thing stems from the Character Material's translation not being accurate. People took it to mean the whole thing doesn't have any connection with the Nasuverse, while Nasu only meant it in regards to KnK. Here's an accurate translation of Nasu's quote from his blog: Nasu: "It was a gimmick to make readers of both to do a double take and consider "Hm?", DDD and Kara no Kyoukai really don't have a connection. It was just a comparison of what would happen if the act of "a third party trapping someone inside their own brain" called demonic possession was put into the rules of Kara no Kyoukai. That is to say, what it means to take in another person." And in regards to Merem and Kaie from said Character Material, here's the quote accurately translated: DDD’s Kaie shares some similarities with Tsukihime’s Merem Solomon, but they are not directly connected. DDD itself doesn’t have a connection with Fate or Tsukihime; Tsukihime and Fate are fundamentally positive, DDD is overall quite negative. However, such a gloomy artstyle was powerless before the amazing Mr. Koyama’s enchantingly cute depiction of Kaie! “Who the hell decided that Kaie should be a guy!?” A certain fungus shouted into the mirror. Nothing implies that DDD isn't set in the Nasuverse.
I'd say that point of DDD not having a connection is what it is though I can see how it's in reference. Even then, it's never getting continued at this rate. If it is, then I'll make a new video updating things
Nope. All we have for Prototype is that short OVA that was released with Carnival Phantasm, some descriptions, some concept art, some material book entries, and that's it.
