Dang, we made it look easy.😅 Smooth operation, everyone knew what to do. Communication was spot on. Got two big trees done quickly and had some fun doing it. 👍
Hey! My name is Jacob as well! I'm from Oregon! I have done a lot of climbing and arborist work on my family's old 10 acre property. I was taught by my uncle to do srt, drt and spur/ flip lines climbing. I never subscribe to video's because I usually don't care to watch someone's videos more then once because they're boring AF usually! But I like how you guys are super smart about how you do you work like I was with mine! A lot of other arborists do dumb stuff. For example, they just try to top trees without a solid game plan of how they're going to get it down and will just chop it and hope for the best. Doing that kind of stuff is how people die. I've watched at least 10 videos you've made and haven't anyone you've had working in your videos do ANYTHING careless that would be putting their life or fellow co-workers lives at risk. Smart work is Safe work! Safe work is always good work! So tell everyone stay sharp, be smart, safe and they'll always give their best work! Enjoy your hard work and having your own company! You'll be able to easily retire in 20 years with a few million in your bank if you keep up your hard work!
You don’t need two wrenches to adjust the chute on the chipper. You just need one large adjustable wrench. Loose them jam nuts on each end then stick the handle of the wrench right through the middle of the turnbuckle to lengthen or shorten it. Then tighten the jam nuts to lock it to its new length. It’s very simple and basically cannot fail.
Tim is a natural in front of a camera 👌. As for the chip adjust on the chipper which you don't like, I'm sure any half decent agricultural engineer in your area could install a hydraulic ram and lever set-up to replace that manual top link 💪.
What a great video! Beautiful work by crew. This is the first time it really dawned on me that you’re a real businessman now. I’ve been watching your channel for many years and I just wanted to throw in here that I’m really proud of you and all the hard work you’ve put in over the years! Great going!❤❤❤
And you got lucky Jake with Isaac I've been cutting like I said 22 years and we don't find young kids like him no more that want to work hard we've been through probably I would say 30 people in the last 3 or 4 years great job Isaac keep it up brother
7:17 The adjuster for the shoot is called a turn buckle and they aren't that had to adjust. Slacken off the locking nuts and then turn the buckle one way to tighten and the opposite way to slacken (it has a right hand thread on one end and a left hand thread on the other end). It would also be pretty easy to switch it for a hydraulic ram if you wanted the ability for regular quick adjustability. Just run it off the hydraulic system you already have on the chipper 😊
Jake, You have a great web site and Tim is a great guy to work with. I hope your sites both do well, equally! Isaac is doing well, in fact, all your teams really hustle, but carefully. Cheers, Rik Spector
So many cool things in this vid. Camera work puts you in the tree with the cutter which is way cool but nothing new to your productions Jacob. Issac is a character, got a laugh out of the gravel on the feed of the new chipper. Shout out for Veteran tree service for his smooth skill sets.
hinges on the side panels would be dope for loading over the side. Hard to tell if it would open up enough space from the video, but in my mind it sounds awesome.
I tell you what you guys have the equipment it is so nice I would love to work with that equipment we have nothing but a bucket truck chipper stump grinder we cut and load everything by hand everything I hope your work is really appreciate the stuff you have cuz it's a blessing it will save the body in the long run God bless you guys
so it is true! A properly ported saw CAN still have a long service life! I have avoided getting mine done because it's been the old "the brighter the flame the shorter the life" question. Like a drag car, one run then full rebuild.
Wish you were closer to Sutherlin Oregon, we have a 180' pine of some type on our property next to our house, and we have power lines on one side, highway on the other, and its hangs over our house scaring my wife. We have had 6 different arborist come, some say No Way and leave, others are quoted prices over $30k. We are simple one income blue collar family, and I have relied heavily on you tube to help me fell the smaller trees, but this thing is a monster. I would guess anywhere from 48-60" trunk at the base. I foresee this tree needing some crazy rigging, would make for a great video
Make a holder for a crescent wrench by the chute , ya loosen the lock nut and then stick the handle of the crescent in the “oval” looking thing and it’ll make it easy to turn it, to raise n lower your chute, hope that makes sense 🤔 😆
I have an idea for the sides of the dump truck. What if you made them hinge where you could extend them open whenever you wanted two instead of having to take out bolts You could use a spring locking bolt to lock it into the bed
Not sure if this is something you’re interested in but I would like to see a video of your whole story. I’ve seen part of it from when you had to switch channels and you spoke a little bit about it but I would like to know to story from when you started all the way up to starting your own business and how you did it and how you chose what equipment to start with and maybe some mentors that helped you along the way! If that’s something you can do I feel like several people would find it interesting as I know I would! Either way keep putting out those videos they’re interesting and super helpful and stay safe!
You can mute the mic on your SENA by holding the same button that turns Mesh on. Just hold it for 3 or so seconds and you'll hear an audio prompt. Very useful for not hearing saws all day. Hope that helps!
I keep thinking having a tarp sized Crazy Carpet (the things you slide down snow on) would be great to have on the ground behind the chipper. It'd make clean up easier, and cut way down on rocks and other unwelcome debris getting into the chipper.
2800 isn't bad for that cap. Steel isn't cheap. If someone has all the stuff and time on their hands, a guy could build that easy enough. But, you'll have it paid for in what, a couple jobs? I think you did good, and it doesn't disrupt your operation, having to build it yourself.
im from pikeville tennessee im wanting to start a tree company up here and i wanted to know what i need to get to start one and love ur vids man keep it up 😄
Wish you guys are in North Carolina I love watching you and you could get the tree that fell into our roof off. Add the storm Helena come through and thought of you guys first saying I wish you guys were here
If you weld the d rings on the lower part of the wall way less chips get stuck behind but your getting quite the line up going its good to see you level up
The problems with the 2511 that I've noticed is if you use them in a Big Pine or whatever kind of tree when you come down you have to clean it out they don't hold up well with a lot of sawdust in them and a lot of Gunk after cutting for so long
I See a lot of your staff are not wearing chainsaw trousers when using power saws and you are a certified arborist as well from a retired Arborist in the uk
34:20 gave me a good scare there. That didn't need any more encouragement to fall yet you go with your hand to your running saw to give it a little push. Don't let complacency get you hurt man.
To me, it looked like you adjust the very end of the chute for up and down. The chute is horizontal, which is what you want. It isn't shooting over the cap.
I'm surprised that they wanted the cottonwood - that is one of the lowest-BTU, highest-ash firewoods out there. Most people don't want to burn it, unless that's all that they have available. My former neighbor would burn any random piece of scrap wood that he could scavenge, and even he wouldn't burn cottonwood!
Another big American tree, to watch by us in Europen wood industry, you have some realy big ones folks over there! From Peter Eriksson Sweden Europe, Swedish Forest AB! Stay safety Folks!😊😅😊
You need to do a video of the a clone saw that’s been ported, and put it up against one of your ported saws, everyone you’ve done was a clone saw comparing it to a ported saw
idk what sena model you have but you can mute your mic on the 33i. you just hold the “mesh button” on the top until it beeps twice and it will turn your mic on or off
Jacob just gave Issac a huge compliment without realising it...... Lord Of the Rings, Jacob said he was Frodo and Issac was Sam and everyone knows that Sam was the true hero!! When Sam thought that Frodo had died, he had to take the Ring but then he handed it back to Frodo like it was no biggy. Frodo literally wouldn't have made it without Sam
Dang, we made it look easy.😅 Smooth operation, everyone knew what to do. Communication was spot on. Got two big trees done quickly and had some fun doing it. 👍
Nice job Tim thanks for the help! 👊
Does your shoulder hurt from patting yourself on the back so hard?
@@batmantiss nah, I'm military and a tree guy. I don't feel pain.

Tim is a stud. Ive dogged him with questions about some things he does, but his heart is gold, and a solid dude. Awesome collaboration.

Jake and Crew great job. Enjoyed watching Tim Climbing and Cutting as well. Always learn alot on your Channel.

I agree with Tim, two inches is massive. Very respectable, great personality
I wouldn't know

Take bolts out and put some quick release pins in for easier and faster removal of sides

great vdeo aas usual. nice to see Tim from VTS. congratz on the DT cover. great work from Isaac & Kaden
Tim’s tree cut is clear. Good job
Tim has some sketchy one handed habits.
Issac please keep it up. I like to see you more on trees🎉
Take that turnbuckle off the chute and replace it with a chain binder for easy adjustment.
28:10 pretty amazing how just shaving it gives you an extra two inches
Love that August Hunicke move! Legendary!

Tree cut job is dangerous but professional. Please keep it up, Jake.
I prefer the Jake, Isaac banter on comms, Tim didn't communicate with the ground team hardly at all.
Fue un placer ver los 2 mejores en un vídeo épico
the vision these arborists have is just amazing... to see how the trees are truly a danger and how to manage the take down
I'm trying to decide what comm system to put in my protos helmet?

Nobody cares about that goofy stugatz
Tim was there to work an learn ,he is doing better ,a few more years an he will be good.

To me, it looked like you adjust the very end of the chute for up and down. The chute is horizontal, which is what you want. It isn't shooting over the cap.
I keep trying to tell my wife the same thing! Those last two inches ARE massive 😂😂
I would spray some rattle can bed liner on those exposed welds before they start rusting

That chip cap you should put hinges on the rounded parts so you just need to fold them up and not remove them.

Why is your crack out son, are you still de-panting to the ankle like a toddler?

It's hilarious! Unless you're the one peeing 😅
If they keep pissing in that corner, it will rust out pretty quick. That steel will rot right out in a hurry.
