Martin Dies is one of my favorites! I do want to revisit both Goose Island and Galveston Island and see how they look after the rebuilds. We have several things holding us back from that trip right now but hopefully we will have them sorted out sooner rather than later. Thanks for your support!
You probably won't believe me but I've seen alligators swimming at night with the reflection of their eyes from my flashlight swimming in the "swimming areas". I also saw huge snakes there too. I cannot believe they even put swimming areas for people to swim in that BA Steinhagen Lake...
Dam B? never heard it called that! I loved this State Park but at the same time I really enjoyed camping an Hanks Creek on Sam Rayburn. Thanks for watching!!
Mr Hubbard it was an honor to meet you as well! I look forward to crossing paths with you again some day. Thanks for running a great State Park for us all
I read that they have applied for grants and started the design phase of getting new fishing piers last September. I'm not sure if they have any updates on them sense then, but it's progress on them anyway.
When we bought the RV that was a useless waste of space "kitchen" (tiny microwave, little beer fridge and tiny little sink) As soon as we got the RV home I deconstructed the usless mess and mounted the dryer and set the washer in and we are so good to go! we love not having to find and use public laundry! Thanks for watching!
It was a real treat to meet Charles! He is a great guy! I am just going down the list of Texas State parks some are really coll like this one, and then some are ho hum, so so. Thanks for your ongoing support!
Bob, I am a Veteran like you, however not the point. Just to tell you I love your series. Been to Martin Dies many, many times. My kids, and my grandkids, practically grew up there. The fishing pier in the Hen House loop definitely needs to be rebuilt, along with many needed repairs and upgrades. Following the State Legislative session was a bill allowing ALL monies derived from state taxes on sporting goods will now go to the TPWD for those needed repairs. Good job, good luck and see you down the road!
I appreciate your kind words and the support! thank you for your service! There are also monies available from a federal tax on ammunition and sporting goods sales, that money is paid out to states based on hunting license sales, so even if you are not a hunter it helps Texas Parks and Wildlife fund our outdoor recreation sites.
I do not carry the scooter in the RV. Sometimes I carry it on a hitch hauler and some times I carry it in the back of the truck. It all depends on if Yappy is traveling with me. If Yappy is coming along the scooter will be in the back of the truck that we are flat towing, if I am going solo, then the scooter will be on a hitch hauler. thanks for watching and subbing!!
@@jwpowell1340 that basket was found by my father at a flea market years ago, it was full of old tools or something. I dug it out of a cluttered corner painted it and fabbed up some brackets to mount it on the bumper to transport firewood and bags of trash or anything else that we would rather not have inside.
Nice video 👌👍, one question, why didn't you catch one of those Gators and fry him up, and invite me up for lunch, hope you had a nice time, as always REMEMBER JESUS LOVES YOU
Well I had hooks and bait in the water but the gators had no interest in that offering and I sure was not gonna jump in after them! Besides I did not have a hunting license with a gator tag. Im not even sure if there is a gator season! LOL! thanks for watching!
I have lived there all my life it a sweet Park
I must agree about the sweet park comment! Love it! Thanks for watching!
One of my favorite State Park videos of yours. I think I've seen them all multiple times at this point! Ever think of revisiting Goose Island SP?

I do believe you! The folks over at The COE camp ground, (Sandy Point I think) said they had lots of problems with big gators eating dogs!
@@DudeRV that is just a no brainer and no common sense to even HAVE swimming area in Lake BA Steinhagen Martin Dies State Park. They can get sued.

Good ol' Dam B . Before they built Sam Rayburn this was the largest lake in the Piney Woods. Nice place !

Dude I’d kayak in and out from right there that’s so awesome
It was so awesome! I look forward to a return some day. Thanks for watching!!
Buster says he don't like alligators. Great video. Thanks BB
Buster should try them fried with a little ranch dressing. thanks for watching!
@@DudeRV LOL
Beautiful place. A little rustic, but that's what camping is all about.
This was one of my favorite Texas State Parks to date! thanks for watching!
Unusual name that Martin guy had. Peaceful looking park though. Anytime it's a big lot size, that's a huge win.
makes you wonder what his ancestors did for sure! big campsites are why I like our Texas State Parks!
My favorite park in east Texas, the facilities are getting dated, but I still enjoy it very much.
We really enjoyed our visit and look forward to another sometime in the future. thanks for watching!!
So no swimming?
There were people swimming, just not me.Thanks for watching!
It was great meeting you. Thank you for sharing the park with the world.

Thanks for the review. I will have to pay this park a visit
You will not regret it! thanks for watching!!
Kudos to you for finding such an interesting place to put your washer / dryer!

They have repaved that site, it's in much better shape now. One of our favorite spots. What kind of scooter to you use to get around?
I am so very glad to hear that! Somebody at TEXDOT must have seen my video!! LOL thanks for the update and thanks a bunch for watching!!
Fyi: all of the roads and RV pads at Martin Dies have been repaived.
That is great to hear! Thanks for sharing!

@Robert Sutton Bear Spray Gator Tail!
Warm water is why they don't want to swim. A lake full of alligators is why I wouldn't want to swim.
