Just wanted to comment as someone that’s working 5 overnight shifts a week and trying to stay on top of my fitness/nutrition + sleep as my long term goal is to build some muscle and lose some fat. There really isn’t enough content out there for people like us and I found this extremely refreshing to watch !
Not a nurse but an overnight hospital lab tech/supervisor. I love working overnights. I work 9pm-7am, 7 nights in a row and then 7 off in a row. I usually fall asleep around 8am and then my typical wake up time is 3pm but that's been all over the place now that I'm heavily pregnant and never comfortable. I won't do it forever but I can easily see another 3-5 years of it, it's already been 4.
I think it's either black or blue in this state lol. Our ER is all blue but floor nurses can wear whatever. However we are about to go color coded for all departments.

Honey, agave, or maple syrup are good sugar alternatives... Creme of coconut is also a great sweet alternative for coffee and smoothies, the body metabolizes the coconut sugars for energy.
I could NOT deal with nights. I did it for a year and just never got used to it. My brain just did NOT want to go to sleep during the day. The second I walked out of the hospital and that sun hit my face I was awake. I had blackout curtains, ear plugs, a mask, a fan, tje whole 9 and I just could NOT sleep. @@Temmysdiary congrats and good luck love! I just graduated In December and passed nclex last month, you can do it!
I appreciate this video so much! I’m an ER nurse and I’ve been night, day, and swing shift. Swing shift is what I’ve stuck to after experiencing everything. However, I relate SO MUCH to how you handle waking up and getting ready to go in for night shift. Props! 😍
Lorennabonita3 thanks for the sweet comment ❤️night shift life!!!! Thanks for watching 😊
Love this video! I just shared it with my daughter. You remind me so much of her. She starts her RN night shift in a couple days.
I start my first year of college in August! hoping to apply to the nursing program next year. I'm so excited. I've been obsessed with watching nursing videos.
That's great to hear, we might be able to help you in your nursing journey!

Sad because oats overnight don’t ship to Australia 😔 I was so excited
thankyou for painting night shifts in such a pretty light. i’m in nursing school right now and am scared knowing that at least as a new nurse this is where i’ll most likely be. you made it seem like such a good option though and i swear you settled my nerves about it. also, this is one of the best videos i’ve seen on this subject, so real and raw it felt like i was chatting with a friend ❤️
I'm always binge watching Gilmore girl's and grey's anatomy
Jessica Nichols same!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos, Holley! Seeing someone else's healthy habits is quite beneficial. I enjoy seeing your video. Keep it up 🙌
I cannot wait to graduate next summer and finally be a nurse 😭 nursing school is killing me! I love watching these videos though they make me so excited!!
YOU GOT IT, HAYLEY! It fly's by and then you'll be grinding :) ENJOY THIS TIME!
How u doing now?
This is a very interesting video and interesting take on nursing in the usa, I am currently a 3rd year student nurse in the uk and i find it fascinating how you cope with doing night shifts and the whole process of being a nurse in the usa. x
I’m a registered nurse and I find your videos so inspiring!! I find myself wanting to buy everything you use. I tried your discount code to order the oats overnight but it said it was invalid! Super bummed about that but I still ordered!
I shift-worked for 12 years (coast guard) and its not for everyone... Kudos to you and all of our Emergency Workers 💙💜✨
AND I just placed my oats overnight order! Thx bunches!!
I loved this video my mom is a nurse in recovery room and that I appreciate you working during this pandemic.
I’m actually in going to college rn TO BE AN RN
Periodttttttt sis. Literally the first youtuber that I saw that like Gilmore girls. My sisters and mom always saying that it's trash but it's not.
What kind of curtains do you have? Your room was as dark as night, I need them!
Tia Romain they are called black out curtains
Just wanted to comment as someone that’s working 5 overnight shifts a week and trying to stay on top of my fitness/nutrition + sleep as my long term goal is to build some muscle and lose some fat.
There really isn’t enough content out there for people like us and I found this extremely refreshing to watch !
GILMORE GIRLS IS MY FAVORITE SHOW EVER! i’ve watched all the episodes! also, i love your house and how you decorated it! i use the same melatonin too!
I literally cant function without at least 8 hours of sleep. I dont see how nurses do it, I admire you!
Where’re your headbands from?? The cutest!
Not to be a creep but between the iowa shirt and your uniform colors I'm almost positive we work in the same hospital 😆
I think it's either black or blue in this state lol.
Our ER is all blue but floor nurses can wear whatever. However we are about to go color coded for all departments.
Oh also in Iowa lol.
can’t wait to be like you in my soon future. currently a sophomore in college and plan to open my own therapy clinic because I’m a psychology major and I feel like this is what my days will look like. absolutely LOVE YOUR CONTENT!! 🍂💙📚
Where do you get your headbands, they are so cute!!😍🙌🏼
I understand what you mean it may not be as exciting as a vacation but it’s real and that’s genuine!!!
I wish I could manage to go to bed early and wake up with enough time to have some “me time” between shifts. It takes me a while to wind down and get to sleep after shifts, though.
I am living for these uploads, I am studying to become a nurse too and i can't wait
Joesphine Lee thank you SO MUCH!!! ❤️it’s worth it😌
We’re did you get your scrubs !!? They’re the cutest !!
KayceeDale Figs! Thank you ☺️
I’m not a nurse. I’m a psych CNA and i love watching your videos. I’m glad you were recommended I’ve been having the hardest time with night shift😩
You said you were about to watch Gilmore girls and I was sold on following you 😂❤️
great channel thanks for being authentic and normal and not super polished and perfect like so many you tubers try to be. your real, your human your a real person who works a real job. thanks for that authenticity. it's refreshing.
I'm definitely trying out the Oats Overnight. That's a great deal for the Starter Pack. 3 packs, a bottle, free shipping and 10% off. Thanks, Holley! I have to be to work at 6am and I need something that I can drink at my station that fills me up. Instead of grabbing junk food, I think this will be perfect. Thanks, again! Glad I stumbled upon your video. 😊 Oh, where did you get the cold brew maker from? I found the link! And it's sold out! 😭 Oh, well! Hopefully they'll get more in.
Ahhhhh they will restock this month I hope🙌🏼🙌🏼owners are getting married so it’s busy over there! I’m so glad you’re gonna try them! I hope you enjoy ❤️
@@HolleyGabrielle Okay. Understandable. 😊 Congratulations to them! 🎉 Thank you! It's already shipped. So I should have it early next week. I'm excited!
I love how real this is!! You go girl ❤️
yas, night shift for life! ✊🏼
amen!!!
Please make a video where you try on your scrubs and tell us your favorites and how they fit! 😍😍😍 love your videos!
I’m so glad UA-cam recommended you! You inspire me to wake up earlier and actually be productive. Btw what’s the name of the song at the end?
Honey, agave, or maple syrup are good sugar alternatives...
Creme of coconut is also a great sweet alternative for coffee and smoothies, the body metabolizes the coconut sugars for energy.
Ur so pretty and cute.. I was so excited when this showed up in my recommended bc I’m genuinely curious of how ur job works❤️
I don't work bedside anymore, 12 hour shifts have their perks but having weekends and holidays off is nice too.
I love Gilmore Girls too!! “Oy with the poodles already” “Did you every know that you’re my hero?”
Teach Love and Mickey I love it so much 😂😂
