Excellent video showing how to make a fairly simple repair/replace on these Snapper mowers. Thank you!

Jeremy, i bet you like the rain better the snow you had. Snapper has had that system for ever and it works. I did that repair on a snapper that i flipped. It took about 15 minutes and the part was like $4.60. Mower a curb find and i sold it for $125. 👍🇺🇸 Roger

@@dannysapp5559 the snapper hi-vac system really works. The closest thing that works well is what i use now. Its a john deere JS46 commercial mower. Love this mower.✌

Great Job Jeremy I remember when i was a kid we had a snapper rider and push mower that had that same drive system on them they worked well even going up hills with the rider and simple to work on. Good luck to the young man you are giving this mower to. Very kind of you buddy. God Bless!

Nice camera work, fades into the next scene, good narration, OSHA will be at your door with leg irons for shining up that drive disk while RUNNING, (ha) and the beauty shot of the rain and the rooster crowing for us made my day. Mechanics don't hate Snapper engineers because they are designed go be fixed. Great video!

I have the big brother to that one with the Kawasaki torque monster engine. The driven disk is nearly used up but still drives the mower fine. Yours look to have some life left on it. Wonder if someone poured oil on the drive disk making the driven disk slip? You can also dress up the drive disk with a whizzy wheel.

when I came in for a stretch belt my dumb snapper dealer accused me of taking the idler pulley off my mower I told him I had no reason to do that I guess his diagram only showed the longer belt I haven't been back I get my own parts of the web mower still going strong 25 years later I do need a kill switch cable cable

Did you look at the clutch spring? It is under a cover. I’ve had them wear through where they connect to the cable or drive mechanism. Even with lubricant, they wore through so frequently I bought them 2 at a time.

At most I would take an oily shop rag and swipe that shaft. No grease required people.

DO NOT LUBE that shaft. Oil and grit will jump in there wearing out the parts much faster. Good idea if this was on a boat LOL.

Bet a nickel that transmission is bone dry....... Every one I buy is. You will add about a full quart of 00 Snapper grease to it.
