- The next stop on our Peru Hop journey is Paracas Peru, the home of Islas Ballestas and Paracas National Reserve Peru!
After getting a good night's sleep, we wake up, have breakfast, and go on a tour of Islas Ballestas - commonly known here as "The Poor Man's Galapagos" - a good description. Here, we see hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) of sea birds, dozens of sea lions, and some cute Humboldt Penguins. A great couple of hours in an amazing place - and all for just $15 US each!
Next, a free Peru Hop tour of the Paracas National Reserve. It's just outside the town - about 10-15 minutes away - but it's like going to a completely different world. An arid desert touching up against a beautiful ocean. We wish we could have flown a drone over Paracas National Reserve. It was that beautiful!

Being vegetarian is kind of hard if you are visiting Peru. Hope you guys are doing well on your trip to my country!
We love Peru! Cusco is amazing. While there are vegetarian options in almost every restaurant we visited, I agree that vegetarians would find difficulties in searching for good vegetarian food. I wish they have more tofu here in Cusco :)

I am planning a trip to Paracas, but I don't know if I should include Hacienda San Jose. Is it worth it? Is it difficult to breathe in the slave tunnels?
I personally wouldn't go out to Hacienda San Jose to visit, but since you will be in the area, you can definitely add it to your itinerary. The tunnel itself wasn't too bad, and although it was dusty, you can definitely breathe there. We made a vlog of our experience there ua-cam.com/video/x8s7qAn3Fpg/v-deo.html
If the tour of the Ballestas island is not offered in the Peru Hop can you still do it and have enough time to hop on the bus again to continue the route to huacachina?
If you plan it right, absolutely!

Is this boat ride good to do with a 4 year old?
Yes! Kids would love to see all of the wildlife, and it wasn't rough enough to get you worry about a 4 year old!
