Christine...I am amazed at how clever you and Michael are..you can look at something and have a creative idea for it..Who would have ever thought to make a clutch out of a place mat..You two amaze me!!! xoxo Loretta
What a fabulous Boho clutch you ended up with after seeing the placemat, using your 'creative magic', and benefitting from Michael's sewing abilities, Christine! I am not a sewer, but this might give me some ideas for a DIY project! Thanks for sharing, and have a great weekend, missie,Sherrey in Southern Ontario ❤
You are very talented n so many different aspects, cant leave Michael out...his sewing ability is remarkable too. This clutch is fab...the placemat colors and fringe were perfect for this, thanks for sharing!
I'm so enjoying slowly going through all you videos. I enjoy them all, and I'm always surprised at how beautiful your diy objects are, You are both so creative and talented.
You always amaze me with your DIY projects! Michael is such a great partner - what a beautiful life you two share on a beautiful island - so refreshing to watch your videos. Hugs from Salem, CT
You could do a cross-body style bag with the other placemat. I love all your videos, keep them coming! You are the reason I decluttered my life. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love love love that DIY boho clutch. Wow I would not change nothing to the clutch it seems simply the way you did it. Love the way you made it and the boho design of the placemat just beautiful. Thanks 😃
It's amazing how much Michael participates in your DIY like in this one: the sewing, not many men can do that!! Thumbs up for him!! Greetings Inge (from Belgium).
wow I have been watching you for years and i think that is the first time i have seen you in a skirt, i really love the changes you have made to your wardrobe and the clutch turned out great
Oh Gosh, I thought you cannot surprise me more with your skills, but you topped it with this video! Now Michael is sewing, too! I have no words, I just admire such an amount of "craftability"... Sure you don't want to have kids to pass all of your knowledge? And you had even more fun experiencing all of these things together. I tell, you having a toddler is pure entertainement and a clown free house ^^. But yeah, the clutch turned out preetty! Like this placemat was waiting for its true purpose :)
So cute! The beauty is how you use the serendipity of a unique thrift store find to create something one of a kind. Love your projects and your high quality videos. Now I feel inspired to find two placemats to make a bigger bag with a cord for a shoulder strap. I love how inspiring your channel is and how you cover so many topics.
My husband is a great sewer too. His mom was a seamstress so he learned from her. Love seeing Michael helping you out! It turned out great. I've always been a little intimidated to use that type of zipper but it looked doable.
I taught myself how to sew via UA-cam video tutorials. I love sewing and makeup and now I get both on your channel! :) I haven't tried sewing zippers yet, but you make it look so easy. I think I will give this clutch a try, zipper and all.
So funny! I have the table runner on my dining table that matches that place mat. I got it at Pier One years ago. Great find! :) Love the clutch idea. All of your ideas are just lovely!
You guys are like the coolest people ever! I can't believe all the awesome, beautiful stuff you both make! Love this channel and all the great idea and how-to's you give us! Thank you ♥
That Michael is a Jewel! I love it that your husband is so crafty! I did get my husband to help make a halloween costume last year. We made some really cute t-shirts that looked like iphone screens. But that was it for him! LOL! He's more crafty with the tv remote control going back and forth between old western shows and football! LOL!!! Tell Michael Great Job!!!
I love the pattern on the placemat I had to find it so I found it at pier one near me. Paid $4.00 but had to have it and I am glad and looking forward to making this clutch for myself. Thanks
Wow, the sky's the limit with this project as far as what fabrics/colors you can use. You can also add a strap and change the size I suppose. Thumbs up!
I have seen almost all of your videos this pass weekend while cleaning out my closet lol. well at least listening to it and haven't been able to let you know that I love your videos. you have given me inspiration and even i made a lemongrass scrub. Thank you and keep them coming.
I thought of a great idea. Take an old clutch, purse, or any bag. Say, from a thrift store and hot glue the fabric of your choice around the clutch and ya have a new re-purposed clutch. Thanks for the idea.. LOVE your videos
I love to make my own cloth bags and clutches and this is definitely the easiest way for a cluch and placements are so varied and pretty now. Thanks! Always, m

Great idea!! you could also get some rough wool lengths, in similar colors, and braid it for a strap! How about some early Xmas beach-y decorations?? 2nd placemat--how about a matching sunglass/eyeglass case with velcro tab to close?
Wow!! You two are talented, love that bag :) ... I was thinking you could even add strap to the bag if you wanted, made out of a similar fabric, or cord. If I did, id turn it into a cross body bag myself, then when you wanted to use it as a clutch you could just tuck the strap inside :) xxxx
Awesome!!! Anyone who can sew should buy an assortment of cool placemats from places like TJ Maxx, or anywhere. Then make a whole bunch of these! They would make great xmas gifts for all the young ladies in your family! Very practical and inexpensive! I wish I could sew. Very cool idea! Love this channel too! :-)
