I visited Hue in Dec 2023. If I have never been Hue before, this video will not attract me to Hue. After watching it, my feeling is "what is the big deal". In short, my personal opinion is Hue is worth visiting. It is more interesting than what this video portrays.
Particularly 1/3 of the whole clip is devoted to Azerai "la Residence" a hotel for kings and queens (who probably came for a whiff of colonial "l'Indochine" experience...") I think that's what they meant as "Remarkable Living" as referred to in the title.
It's an interesting story/clip about Hue, with beautiful scenes. However, it's funny enough when you have the local tour guide's name as Shi Dang. Fyi, "Shi" does not exist as a Vietnamese name, unless the guy deliberately calls himself like that.
I think the correct VNnese name is "Si Dang" as opposed to "Shi Dang." This is a Singaporean production so they spell "Si" according to its pronunciation and that comes out as "Shi." The consonant "S" in the central and southern parts of VN is pronounced as "sh" (in the English language.) Only in the North that it's pronounced as "s."
Beautiful City!
Hue is a romantic city.
