I love how all the fn updates and stuff have a connection and the stories like, remember peely was hiding in Midas’s room? The stories are all interesting. I luv how there not only just characters, there’s a great spark in this game

This is one of the most talented videos I’ve ever seen for Fortnite. Stayed up from 2 to 4 because it was very interesting. My favorite pairing is Tsuki 2.0 and The Scientist. 1:32:00 conversation was my favorite and made valid points. Had me thinking for a sec. You just made me want to play Tsuki 2.0 now. :T

Geez, I hope that's bit about Midas being no Mastermind is just meant to be Slone's personal opinion, and not the new NSP writers putting their own opinion into Slone's mouth. If they want to write out or kill off Midas, at least let him go out on a high note and not turn him into an idiot, or worse, a traitor to the Resistance! (We did he play Chess with Slone??)
Since Ch2S5 Midas had already been depowered, enslaved by the I.O. (first by Agent Jones then by Slone), sidelined, then depowered by Carnage, and since Ch2S8 in general just dragging his feet, no longer planning anything.
But how did Slone "steal" the plan for a Doomsday Device from Midas, it's not like Midas wrote them down (and if he did they went under when the Island was flipped over)? And also... um, Midas never built a "Doomsday Device"... even the "official" Midas in Epic's version built a Stormbreaker device, and the NSP Midas built his Device to siphon the Light from the other Disciples, not blow up the Island.
Well, admittedly, Slone might do more damage with a "power siphon" than with a Storm-banishing machine. But the Collider we have in-game now will likely do something very different in the season ending event.
Ryan here. I wrote this episode, Omega Knight's origin and a few others this season. When you've seen Midas on screen this season, it's been me. I wish I never told people I was leaving, because they've been using the "new writer" boogeyman for multiple seasons now when something happens that they don't like. Spider-Man dies? New writer. Midas gets one-upped by Slone? New writer. Nope, I did both of those things. Not saying there haven't been missteps along the way, there certainly have been.
Midas has not been dragging his feet. He "retired" in S8 in order to re-double his efforts to find Orelia. Unfortunately, he was not successful. Although we do not see him on screen all the time, this is his focus right now. Finding his wife. Just like rejuvenating Jules was. He has a one track mind - with one goal. Slone's assessment was correct in that regard. He's been making plays this Chapter to find her. He joined forces with the Seven in order to use their resources to increase his scope and chances of finding her. He sent Skye and Meowscles undercover in order to try and find out if I.O. had info on her.
One thing to remember is that Midas is not infallible. He literally never was. He's emotional. He was ALWAYS someone's pawn in one way or another. You and I might both really like the guy, and MOST characters feel that he is a genius, a mastermind etc. But he makes mistakes. A LOT of them. That's a character flaw and partially why he's compelling. His whole story starts with him making one huge blunder and then making hundreds of little mistakes until he's become a villain. His own device plan worked out because he played his cards right and he got extremely lucky - and of course through his sheer will. I'm not trying to discredit his accomplishments, because there are a lot of those too - but hopefully this helps explain things.
To answer your question, it was Slone's own opinion of Midas. I thought the chess scene was self-explanatory, but apparently not. Slone and Midas are enemies with a past friendship. It was just a scene to show that while they're on opposing sides, they can still at least pretend to be civil with each other. But really, it was about showboating and making threats. In that convo, Slone threatened his life, and they both revealed information of how they one-upped each other. It was never meant to be taken as Midas betraying his side, so I'm a bit confused on why people think that - perhaps I should have been more clear. It's heavily influenced by Xavier and Magneto's relationship in the X-Men films.
Midas' device plans were used as a blueprint for Slone's. And he did in fact just "write them down," both in Epic and our own canon - at the Artisan / whatever Epic calls the restaurant. The functionality has been tweaked, but it's form, technology and far-reaching scope is what was copied. The intent has not yet been made clear.

Yes, the Midas fandom rumour mill was all over that oceanside restaurant back in Ch3S1 after the first screenshots of that notebook and the interior design taken straight from Midas' Yacht had been posted! 😉 *By the way, the restaurant's in-game Landmark name is **_Cuddle Cruisers._* No joke. Don't ask me why it has such a weird name. But that's what popped up a as a name when I first visited it. 🤷 Maybe Meowcles is cruising for cuddles...
@@TF2CrunchyFrog You gotta admit the chess scene _was_ pretty obvious. It characterized both as having respect for each other's tactics despite hating each other while making it seem like they wish they could be friends again. Midas doing so behind the Seven's backs also shows that he doesn't have enough faith in the Seven and would much rather do things his way. I do wish he'd play a bigger role, though.

They don't have the Huntmaster Saber skin, and even if they used Mystique, they would have to kill the boss NPC in Battle Labs first every time, then hope the Creative Hub glitch still works that used to allow keeping the disguise even when shooting. And even if that works, they can't replicate Huntmaster Saber's special attacks.
It's crazy how Prowler died to a gunshot and the bullets did nothing to him!
