Virtual Riot has just been absolutely amazing me lately with his production skills. Him collaborating with FuntCase was an awesome idea. *Fangirls over Star Trek Reference*
Jesus fucking Christ, what a rush of pure badassery. I normally resent this side to Virtual Riot, but this is one of the few pure-bass tracks of his that I've really enjoyed and looked forward to. It's legit scary with the robot narration and the security alarm, which creates a constant sense of tension that looms over the track through its entirety. The drop is hugely derivative of most of the stale brostep dominating the scene today, but it's crisply mixed and oddly satisfying to listen to compared to the usual nonsense. Not to mention the beautiful chaos and rage that lets loose the second time, holy fuck. VR said that this Chemistry EP will be fully bass-driven (which breaks the pattern of his last few EP's), but the reason I'm not disappointed is because 1) the tracks sound pretty good so far and are his best terror/riddim works, and 2) he's promised more melodic work to follow. Either way, this song in particular satisfies the hype to incredible proportions. I actually might make an edit which implements the cinematic intro from the EP trailer, since that was pretty terrifying and something I hoped would make it into the final release somehow.
