I like all four picks especially Dadiet only 18..19 later this month. Good size..he weighs 217 not 180 and shooting ability too still growing so his mobility will improve. Kolek has enough speed he was best PG in the Big East. McCullar is strong at 6'6" is similar to Josh Hart a great defender who averaged 18 ppg. but he is here to defend. Hukporti at 7'0" 250 is athletic and active sorta like Mitch Robinson lite.
Predicate you. Yea there was no need to force it this draft with the lack of overall talent and where we were picking. Get a developmental pick n get a stop gap in the free agency.
What up GMOSKI.. I just watched your DRAFT PICKS class session to learn about who we got 😅.. LOOKS LIKE JERICHO SIMS finally got a second UNIT LOB ABILITY PG! JERICHO will be our BIG SURPRISE this year with this guy
I think you need to watch more film of Ariel, both before and after his injury. He is way more fluid and versatile offensively than you give him credit for. And better right now offensively than Mitch. Yes he needs work defensive wise
I think he has good footwork in the post. Good spin move and can move around the rim. But I’m Not convicted by anything outside of 5 feet from the rim. Will def keep an eye out on him for the summer league and will try to find more film on him pre injury. Salute
When I say stash I don’t mean overseas. I’m speaking on playing heavy in the g league. He’s not cracking major roster play. I would say Tyler Kolek might get more roster play this season over other rookies.
He does have decent footwork. I almost said he had an ok hook but lot of the looks I saw almost look like he was lucky for it to go through. Like there wasn’t enough consistent finesse on those shots for me to be convinced. Salute and thanks for watching
Knowing that we probably couldn't keep Hartenstein & Mitch's health problems, the Knicks should have packaged all 3 picks to move closer in the draft to grab a Center!
Comps, imo: Dadiet: Kevin Knox w/ bigger offensive bag & hopefully better D. Kolek: Poor man's Brunson/Nash w/o floater or 2-foot game. McCullar: Worse shooting Kelly Oubre or Quentin Grimes w/o 3pt. Hokporti - ? (Can't think of a comp right now. Poor man's Andrew Bynum??) This is based on scouting/highlight vids. How will their game translate at the next level, and what is the level of play in Hokporti's league? We'll better be able to evaluate in Summer League. I'm looking forward to it.
I have to disagree with a lot of this: Kevin Knox never displayed the shot creation potential that Pacome has, nor the defensive intensity. Kolek is not as smooth as Nash off the dribble McCullar as a Quentin grimes comp w/ bad shoots his ok, but he’s a way better facilitator than grimes Hokporti ain’t no damn Andrew Bynum lol. Not even a poor mans Bynum. But thanks for viewing. Salute. Can’t wait for summer league
I think the Knicks made these picks as developmental players. Being in the cap situation we’re in, with our core secure, we only need to keep pulling young players up from the rear. Cheap contracts and the ones that hit can either play a role here or act as value that can be packed elsewhere for a future upgrade.
Right. This is something I’ve preached before. Getting cheap talent that can be stashed away and develop and be in place to replace someone or grow into a spot once the roster changes and fluctuates with the cap (Brunson getting paid).
Only mistakes Knicks made was not taking Filipowski over Dadiet. Other than that I can't complain about the draft, Kolek was a steal. But we gotta get a big man now
George is too slow and unathletic for the NBA. And his defense is not nearly good enough for a 3 and D. You gotta be able to move to get a shot going, George ain't it
Dude, his first name is pronouced (pa - comb), not (pa - co - may). Also, he's coming over this year. He is not being stashed away. Personally, I rank the Knicks' draft grade A, especially seeing how their highest pick was 25th. They probably should have traded a couple future second rounders to try and get an additional pick in the 31-33 range to pick up Filipowski as well. But I guess they were confident in being able to bring back Hartenstein. Hukporti is a good pick, though. Already has a better offensive bag than Mitch and Jerico.
Thanks for the correction on the pronunciation. I never acted as if I knew how to prounucne and heard it pronounced all over the place. He’ll be a g league stash, regardless of the what he said. Thibs not giving minutes to a 18 year old wing on a ECF roster and bench guys in dd and Josh hart in front of him, unless guys get hurt Hukporti is fine. Depth behind Mitch. His skillset isn’t that great but he has better footwork on offense than Mitch and can set better screens. Thanks for watching

Seems like we drafted a few projects for our new sports medicine guy
Lmao yo chill
Nice job with podcast Legion.I really like the fact that even thou we need a center we didn't push the pick and took the best guy.Solid draft solid.

Why has he not as yet been signed? I want to see the big Huk in the summer league.

Would’ve liked Daron Holmes here
@@LEGIONOFKNICKSPODCASTDaron is not really a center but could be used there and backup Julius too.

Yes because we have no number one picks for the next few years.
@@locoman888 we have a number one pick every other year. We didn’t trade all of our picks
